Why there is a Dutch city in the middle of Germany

In the middle of Schleswig-Holstein lies one of the most unusual cities in Germany. Instead of the typical North German architecture, you will find canals, Dutch brick houses and distinctive cycle paths. Although you are in the middle of Germany, you have the feeling that you have just entered the Netherlands.
And this impression doesn't come from anywhere. The small town of Friedrichsstadt was actually founded by Dutch people and over the centuries it developed into a hotspot for Dutch emigrants.
And they not only brought their architecture with them, but also their...

It is not a "Dutch city", it's a regular German city, which in 1621 was founded by a German Duke! The only Dutch connection was the luring in by this Duke of some Dutchmen to start up trading. It's all hyped up for tourism.👴🤑🤮

    Weird. The Castro family pretty much controlled most of California after the Jesuits arrived. In fact the Russians helped the Americans in both the Revolutionary War and 1812. Czar Alexis loved President Lincoln and when Lincoln asked for help with the British Crown and French sitting at the Southern border, who had planned on balkanization of the US, Alexis sent troops to the NY Harbor and to California. The Russians who had been in California had good relationship with the native American Indians too. I know there's only a few Eastern Orthodox Churches in the US. One specifically built or funded by Czar Nicolas. In NY, there's a community of Ukrainians I need to look into. From what I understand there was a population of Polish that settled in NY who had or used Russian last names and were funded by the Kuhn Loeb and Woodrow Wilson who were the Bolchiveks. Trotsky wrote for the NY TIMES and for Russia news. He created the word Racist, in order to create division in Russia. This later on became the Black Lives Matter movement which was definitely a CIA OP.

    Panama's problems were due to El Niño droughts but since July when La Niña hit, it's actually had the opposite problem and that's flooding. The Mulino government should have mechanisms in place to avoid these issues by the time the cycle changes again. So good luck to México but their alternative doesn't seem to be a game changer at all tbh .

    Suriname was pushed to become independent by the progressive Dutch government in the seventies, so the claim The Netherlands wanted to keep their colonies is incorrect. Nowadays the remaining colonies are financially reliant on the Dutch government, which is the main reason to remain in the kingdom. Fun fact: a Dutch citizen that wants to go to Curaçao needs to get a visa stamp at Immigration, and technically it is another country within the kingdom.

    • @JAnthon77T
      @JAnthon77T 17 дней назад

      Technically, legally and historically they are all Dutch citizens, wether they live in The Netherlands or on the islands. That the ‘Dutch Dutch’ need a stamp at immigration is a leftover from their own colonial past, it’s a rule they made! Anyway, the Dutch made those islands into what they are, there are no original inhabitants. For over 400 years the islands have been Dutch and the Dutch did whatever they liked with those island (Pirate base, slave trading post, oil refining, strategic financial off shore trusts etc). That’s longer than the Netherlands have been an official country themselves!

    As a Tibetan born and raised in a Tibetan prefecture in Qinghai (though obviously I don't live there any more), I think this video greatly misinforms and warps reality. Both the Tibetans and Chinese were ruled by the Mongols during the Yuan dynasty and were largely separate nations during the Ming dynasty. However, Tibet was incorporated into the Qing dynasty until 1903 when the British did in fact invade. Also, Tibet wasn't fully independent between 1912 and 1951, there was also a great deal of meddling from the British Empire and later India. Though it is true that all Tibetan regions were at some point under Marshall law and that the government have taken away identity cards and passports from their own people, it is also true that the standard of living has vastly improved. It's quite true that these days, a lot of young Tibetans just don't care about Buddhism and instead want to pursue their dreams of studying and working in a large city like Shanghai. While it is sad to see Tibetan culture gradually being lost and diluted by Communist ideology and the Chinese language, they also provide important job opportunities that gave so many, myself included, a better opportunity in life. I myself am quite religious and value the Tibetan spirit greatly, which is why sights of Tibetans being prosecuted for their faith angers me. I do advocate for more individual autonomy such as being able to travel freely and religious freedom, but I also want to see the same opportunities given to me to be given to more of my fellow Tibetans. However, like it or not, the truth is that the last time the Chinese people treated Tibetans as equals was during Tang dynasty when Tibet was under the rule of Songtsen Gampo and was a powerful kingdom (in fact, the Tubo Kingdom defeated the Chinese in multiple battles.) People advocating for "Free Tibet" are literally yelling at clouds at best and are narcissist trying to get attention at worst. H.H. Dalai Lama XIV has expressed his views of a more autonomous Tibet within the PRC. May the world of tomorrow be more peaceful, prosperous and inclusive.
