I used to hear Alisha's music on the radio frequently in New York City, which is where I've lived all my life. I'd hear Alisha records on radio stations like Hot 103, Hot 97, Z-100, and 103.5 WKTU. And when you're a kid and you don't really understand how the business works, you assume that anyone popular who you hear on the radio, or see on TV or in a movie, is a big celebrity who's making millions of dollars, drives an expensive car or has a limo with a chauffeur, and lives in a huge mansion. In reality, that's usually very far from the truth (unless it's Madonna or Michael Jackson). But my point is that to us, the listeners and fans, Alisha was a celebrity! She was a star! A big success in the music business! And to this day, many of us still feel that way. We are adding her music to our RUclips or Spotify playlists, or playing our old Alisha CD's, cassettes or vinyl records! We see promo posters for shows and are extra excited when we see that Alisha is booked to be there! To us fans...she's not only a star but a New York City and dance music legend! ✨️

You ever see her when she was younger, she was one pretty girl. (She still is.) I remember hearing her music when kid on the school bus back in the 80s

I listened to alisha back in 88, 89. I loved the songs. I just cant imagine her mom and dad being overjoyed listening to her sing those lyrics. I know i didnt sing that in front of my parents. In my firebird, full blast thats another thing 😀 the 80s were still kind of innocent yet!

I just wish she had more success because I think she had more to give. She is a wonderful person and very humble.

Back in the eighties her voice was truly amazing with All Night Passion and Too Turned On. Those were such big hits and we loved to hear them every time they came on the radio. And yes, they were a little bit on the naughty side, so that helped too !!! I still don't know what the heck she says at the beginning of All Night Passion during the intro before the verse. Someone wanna clue me in. Thank you for sharing your lovely voice with us Alisha ! ❤️ .

I was a big Alisha fan back in the day. I've always thought she sounded A LOT like Madonna! If you listen to "Baby Talk" and Madonna's "Get Into the Groove" ...it has the same beat. Was this song stolen from Alisha? Perhaps, we'll never know...Great mini-doc, thank you for posting!

First ever I went to a club in SF called “city nights” and saw Alisha, was a highlight of my teen! She was so good! I can still remember even now.

I couldn’t find Alisha’s “All night passion” 12” in SF in 86-87. So the first time I went to Manhattan in 1987 I wanted to hit all the record stores and was staying with my friend in Jersey City. We went clubbing almost every night and my friend was tired bc we were going back out to go clubbing. So I wanted to go to Vinyl Mania in the upper west side so my friend showed me what bus to catch to Port Authority near time square. So when I to Time Square, I didn’t know which bus or subway to catch, so I walked from Time Square to like 60th. St. They had it and i bought 3 copies and other records I wanted and had everything and I think it was $3.99. Oh and while walking it was muggy but started to rain and it was weird bc on hot days, it doesn’t rain in California. I was so happy to get that record and I still didn’t see the record sold in SF. Back when you could get everything in NYC and nowhere else. So different from todays internet age.
