Quick review of the SOG responder bag. Small patrol or duty bag
I've tried on 2 occasions to pull this vent but it won't release. Where should I apply force? Do I need to depress the black tabs on the vent some how?
On the inside of the vent there are 4 tabs, near each corner, that need to be pulled out just slightly one at a time while pulling on the vent. Use a thin flat screw driver. Then it will release.
Ummm, so, and, uhh, ummm, so, ummm, uhh, and, ummm.
Hi there. Just thought I would check in a year later. How is the finish holding up on yours, since they are actually in occupational use? I know a lot of coloured/coated handcuffs can look quite ugly and suffer from the visual appearance of premature aging. In addition to a quick check up on yours in terms of still working great after another year, can you share a picture of the external appearance of them after having been used for quite some years now?
100mph tape on the shoulder strap so you don’t get hung up brother, stay safe! They also have Velcro tape you can utilize as well
What are some higher quality options, has anyone modified these to make the hard plate sit higher.?
Amazon has a quick release side cumber bun that I put on mine
Best size? Get my size or a bit bigger ?
How did you fix the wings from flapping around?
I wonder if this cover will fit the MRO HD.
Handcuffs warehouse has them for $47 now
The only video I've found that shows how to remove the lower panel! Thank you!
So what are you wearing now That beats this vest ??
I have one pair new in the box, size 10.5 For sale
So I can’t just order the carbon fiber piece. Mopar doesn’t show the vent being attached.
Hello. Good video. Do you know if they make any of these for the Patrol?? Thank you and thank you for your timely response
I just bought one, so hopefully they have improved, LOL
You may not even have that setup anymore, but how’s it held up 4 years later? I’m waiting on my mro to arrive and thinking about getting the cover.
Entire setup is as good as new. I just changed the battery this year and it was more because of just wanting to be proactive and do it before it went out. Cover is holding up well, my only gripe is that I wish the lense cover would stay open when deploying the rifle. There have been a few times I deployed it and the cover just came loose and kinda flapped around while I'm running the rifle. Good thing is I don't have problems running it with lense cover on, just a bit irritating when I want it removed.
hey, dont give up, the sole will soften, mine were so hard at 1st i felt like i was walkin in fckin clogs, but now i can sprint in them, all u need to do is give them some time and distance
Where did you get the piece from?
Dodge Dealership. I had to do a whole Cherokee at work today and found this.
It’s $1500 for all of it. Made in China stickers on the backs of them 😂
Just look for srt partouts on fb marketplace
I am missing the o-rings that hold the brake discs. Where can I get new ones? Does anyone have a part number? Thx
Personally i cut the hydration straps from the shulders and used them to cover parts of the velcrow on the admin pouch. It makes opening it much easier
Is it stab resistant
If you get the 3A+ panels which are stab and slash resistant
Just got mine today. I was use to the steel cuffs and they felt cheap at first. When I put them on my belt I could definitely tell the difference.
The Green Dot solves a lot of that blue tint and glass clarity!🤯🔫💣
Unfortunately there's more green glare.
How are they holding up? (peerless superlite)
Excellent video.
Shoulder strap on neck issue for me was canted outward left and right, bam neck rub gone. Velcro issue you can get money off on replacement by calling them and offer them old vest back for evaluation and discount.
Great concise review. Thanks from an officer in SC.
That's really just for the assembly line. You don't need to put it back. The wheel holds the rotor where it belongs once the lugs are tightened.
So... you’re a giant...? Copy
Dose it come with foam pads in it?
yes
I have the level 3A + panels with the blue outer carrier and I have some similar problems to me only the panels are worth the money the carriers are shitty in safe life so I went and got a good one on Ebay for $74 and I have it now going on 3 months
Definitely agree modifications are a must to get this running properly. Condor makes a zipper insert for the kangaroo pouch. It’s like $30 for a 2 pack. It solves that issue. I’ve been running it hard for 4 years. I’ve had to replace the zipper strip once. Highly recommend it. Stay safe!
I just got this carrier in the mail, but my armor is delayed since its coming in a concealable carrier from safe life defense. Im disappointed in this tactical carrier. The bottom of the front of the vest is a good half-inch longer on the left side compared to the right. Also, the shoulder straps are way too long. I'm a big dude at 6'4 and 270 lbs. There is no reason I should need to interfold the shoulder straps so much to raise the vest to my clavicle notch. And having all that extra material flapping around on the back of the straps looks like shit. Im sending this thing back with a request for a better made shoulder strap system. Good video bro.
Maybe you got the wrong size? I got the concealable vest and it felt like no matter how much I shortened the shoulder straps it wouldn't fit well. Turns out I actually need one size larger and it was riding up on me because it didn't fit around my waist well. They're sending me a replacement atm
@@greensheen8759 I found out I ordered the wrong size. SLD is fixing my order at no cost to me and I'm very grateful. My previous comment was ignorant and they're a great company in regards to customer service.
No worries, I get you though. They don't fit like regular clothing do, I was really upset when mine didn't fit for how much I spent on it either
Hey Vaughn, what size did you end up going with on the return? I have a similar build to you and have the exact same issue with there being too much length in the shoulder straps and I really don't want to fold them up to get it raised properly.
What about the chrome trim on the steering wheel around the SRT letters?
It's melted from the other side. None removable.
have you ever used hiatt cuffs?
I am wondering how durable are they in terms of damage from dropping etc?
Very, used on duty now several years no issues. Dropped more than a few times. Few scuffs but even the engraving still looks decent
These are T1 aluminum alloy. The same alloy is used in M16/M4 receivers. It's light, but not weak metal like pure aluminum from cans or whatever. If the alloy can contain the stresses of a rifle receiver it can handle being a handcuff.
@@PalmettoNDN Excellent. Thanks. The only complaint I have seen is people saying the keypost can fall out, but I would think that is most likely if someone is trying to pick them open and sticking things in and wiggling them around. I doubt it would happen through normal use.
@@SilentButDescriptive they fixed that years ago. About 2015
They should replace it I think if the Velcro failed already.
What did you use to fix the flaps to keep from moving around? Thanks in advance.
I sewed mine with upholstery thread.
You can adjust it in the back so the flaps don't ride up
Almost bought a Condor until I saw your review on it. Then I heard you say safe life was almost perfect. Researched that and just ordered, perfect for my price point, and it seems they addressed the concerns you had. Reduced the pull straps length in he shoulders and improved the Velcro quality.
6'3" @ 270? you sir are a fat ass. lay off the doughnuts......
Why would you mount a tourniquet on the vest.? Lol that is the most likely place you will be shot, and if you get hit in a limb as well and the tourniquet took a hit you are SOL!
Well if I get shot in the vest I dont need a TQ now dont I? Lol versus having it on the leg and getting shot in the leg? Maybe the TQ mounted on my leg? It's a toss up the main thing is being able to get to it
thank you, brother! That is exactly the knowledge that I was missing! Perfect, direct and to the point!
I heard the carrier itself is slash/stab and blunt force resistant? Is this true? I cant find any info on the materials used. Hows it it lv.4 plates? Any other suggestions for plate carriers instead of this if this isnt quite the best one for me? Ive been looking at spartan and ar500 carriers as well.
This is a great budget carrier, there are several manufacturers making carriers but at a $200 higher premium. For some that might be worth it. This one is constructed really well and I'm sure it will help with some blunt trauma and maybe slash but I HIGHLY doubt it will stop stabs and anyone determined with a sharp weapon. Regular heavy duty nylon vests in conjunction with kevlar have stopped a knife before but I wouldn't put my life on the idea without a certified rating starting it will (this one doesnt have one).
@@policegearreview3078 thank you for the info. I appreciate it. And I will need to look into the best idea for this I'll let you know what i come up with and see if I cant get your opinion. Thank you again.
Their level 3A÷ is stab and slash and will stop up to 5.7FN .... the 3A is only slash resistant and up to 44 magnum if I'm not mistaken ... I wear a 3A+ Tac uniform carrier it is the stab and slash proof version and I love it ! I just got it 2 months ago and the new velcro seems tough.
What size plates are you running?
Im not and I wouldn't unless you're running light weight plates. I would not trust the stitching on this vest to support heavy plates. Not to mention to access it you have to remove everything to put them in. Look into other options on the market
I agree 100%, I work corrections and I have had many different boots. Then I got UA Strykers WP and it changed my opinion on boots for good. So light and comfortable and the Michelin sole is excellent. I recently got the UA infil hike gtx and they are just as good. I'd rather have light, comfortable boots any day over rugged, heavy boots (which is why I'll never buy Danners again) for now, 3 pairs of UA boots in and I'll be UA for life, unless something better comes along.
You’re from the Chicago area; how would you compare it to JG Uniforms’ outer vest carrier?
I love JG stuff, it's the only place I go for uniform. The problem is the chicago PD outer carrier approved by general orders is not a true weight bearing carrier. Only place the weight goes is on the shoulders, cummerbund is supposed to distribute that weight. Which is what cpd outer carriers don't have
policegearreview gotcha. I’m using JGs right now. My vest will be expiring within the year. Looking for some input. Safe Life is intriguing but that price tag makes me suspicious.
Try looking into other vest manufacturers around here. Fitore Uniforms, Tri Taylor and Eagle Uniforms I've heard plenty of good things about. I have a Fitore now, I just dont have enough mollee to move more shit off my belt.
I'm from the Chicago area, did you purchase a new vest.
My velcro is worn how can I get this fixed? Will safe life exchange ?
Yes
Get ahold of the claims Dept the will replace the whole carrier!!!
Did you just get the carrier or did you get the armor with it?
Just carrier, I used pint blank armor because that's what I was issued
I have point blank concealable soft armor. Will it fit in this carrier?
Yes depending on size, my point blank fit fine but some sizes might not
Behold. The answer I have been searching for! Thanks!!!
