Hey! I was just searching how to distill cedar because i want to try out my distiller i got last year and haven't used yet LOL and came across this video. I live in Spokane also! Glad to see videos from locals. Thanks for sharing your setup.
I'm not a teacher, I don't even have faith, but problem is all the so called pastors running those beastly churches in these last days are all teaching lies. So I step up and can't control my tounge because I don't like liars!
Good video 👍👍
What was propane expense for that run??
Do you have a recipe to share for this soap?
The packing of your vacuum chamber is out of service. OK..?
You have some great content. I hope you upload some more videos on essential oils soon, I especially like the oil making from evergreen species. Oranges and citrus in general contain pectin. That stuff acts like a glue and emulsifier in one. SO they are a bit labor intensive to distill. If you can get your hands on some trifoliate oranges try distilling them. Awesome aroma. Subbed cheers!
Shalom! Glory to God brother! Love seeing someone receiving what He has given to us naturally. May I ask if both of those are water ports on your double jacket copper pipe? I know the top one is for sure, the bottom one is my question? If it is for water too, do you have water running to both of them at the same time? Fixing to build one. Blessings in Jesus!
The bottom port is for water out hope this helps blessing to you
Great videos!
Hey Matt, I just bought a little 5 gallon distiller to have some fun and was going to prune some boughs off my western red cedar and a friend told me that cedar distillation is difficult because some kind of reaction the cedar has with the copper still I have. Have you heard anything about this? Thanks!
Can you reuse the juice after?
Just found a new home.
Just found a new home.
So this is basically making cedar espresso?
Great video dude 👍
Ciao bravo dall Italia 🇮🇹..mi dici che resina per colorare usi ...grazie njk
The color is a additive you put into the cactus juice beforehand.
Super cool!
Hey, Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed to video !
It's cool to see the process.
It's so fun glad you enjoyed the video

10kgs of water use a 10:1 ratio
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 How much oil could one get from 100kg of eucalyptus leaves?
Ccol
When is the best time of year for a stronger scent ?
Summertime when the pollen is high cause essential oils are second metabolites meaning highest when there reproducing or fighting of pests
Great job guys
My dad had a huge cedar oil distiller he made from a round stainless steel milk tank. He used a wood furnace for years and then switched to a oil burning furnace to heat the cedar. He also did pine, balsam and spruce oil. He sold it to a dealer that sold it to larger companies. We pumped cold water from the river to cool the pipes. He would make about 2 gallons of oil per run. Sometimes more depending on the season. We used a old corn chopper to chip the small trees no more than 4 to 5 inch in diameter. The chips made amazing mulch when done processing. The tank would get filled and we would jump in and pack down the chips. He had a large thick rubber seal like tire tube to cover then a large round wood cover sealed with river clay. It was quite the process, but yearned a lot. When done the tank was made to pivot to empty. It was tipped by using a chain and a tractor to flip the tank. The smell of the Cooked wood and leaves was amazing. Nice still you have. Keep up the great work.
That's awesome to hear that you guys made your own still and oil. I eventually want to build one that does rotate to empty.
Wow. What a detailed memory. I suppose hours and hours of participation sets the scene. Nice to meet you and thanks for sharing that.
Do you have any photo or video footage of this process?
Those are some giants! Well done!
So how do you control your temperature? I hear the propane burner, and it doesnt seem to be controlled temp?
Excellent question,I have a regulator on the burner to control the flame which controls the temp.
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 at what temp do you run it for needles?
Hey I have a small distiller I bought on Amazon. Will that work for making cedar oil? Also do I need the wood shavings as well or just the cedar on the ends of the branches. I’m also from Spokane!
the amazon distiller will work fine might need multiple runs to get a bottle but thats fine. there is a small amount of oil in the wood most of the oil is found in the green end
hi, does aniline Powderdye working with stabilized resin?
Do you mean to use the aniline powder dye after stabalization or during the process. Should work after but not during gotta use the cactus juice dye
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 by mixing into the resin during processing. thanks. I just wondered 😀
Oh yeah powder dyes work great in resin.
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 aniline dye Should I mix it as a liquid or powder into the resin?🤦🏻♂️
How much would you sale that bottle of oil?
20.00 usd for 1/2 oz
For those of you that may hang your laundry on a line, shake out your throw blankets from the couch or a chair, spraying them with a lavender hydrosol or lemon hydrosol is a wonderful smell throughout the house, better than a frebreze I think. Worth a try for 5 dollars. I absolutely love the Melissa and or folgate ( deep purple) are my favorite, besides the crisp lemon.
Azeotrope is the word you were looking for.
So....what, if any, types of oils are left in the materials? There must be oils inside that can't be released from just steam.
Correct some oils are left
Personally I wouldn't trust anything (materials) that I didn't collect myself....who knows what might've been around that tree? Maybe the guy running the saw filled his bar oil, or gas over some of those boughs, and we all know that a saw sprays oil from the tip of the bar. Just sayin'.
I was personally there. The arborist called me and i got to see the tree and the chipping of it .
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 That's good then.
I don’t know what you brewed up but I used the soap I got from you on my face and hours later my skin was clear. I have had issues getting my acne to go away and I wasn’t expecting to look in the mirror hours later to see my acne was essentially gone.
It was great meeting you today, i really glad to hear that you liked the soap. My wife used the honey tonight so thank you.
Thanks for sharing. What dye did you use? Thanks
No problem, the dye is called cactus juice you can get it and turn tex website and the color used is electric blue
How to check the cineole content in eucalyptus oil sir
You would need to send off the oil to a lab that has a gcms machine
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 in gcms synthetic oil mixed with natural one.traces does not shown???
Traces are shown go check out robbert pappas from essential oil university he shows you the process and what to look for
Matt tremblay thanks for your information sir.it's hard to find out synthetic citral mixed with lemongrass oil.
Hi if you have valves in the right way you could draw down the vacuum then valve out the pump and turn off the pump. the rig should hold the vacuum as long as you want.
Did you guys make your own vacuum chamber
Yes, we modified a harbor frieght paint pressure tank works really well
You show nothing!More facts...less talk!
I am in south africa Please send me the correct way to make the Eucapylytus oils
Are you trying to make oil now?
Yes Covid is killing people in south africa The virus is a killer We need oil to steam And use for steam
@@PremSingh-wj1nk vro तुम south africa में हो ??
happy belated bday. New SUB, hope I can catch you back brother.
Thank you. I just subscribed to you under my personal account
Were you trolling for them, if so what lures?
There are 3 ways to catch these fish 1. Powerbait 2. Trolling using either a jointed orange and white rappala or my favorite is the cultiva rip n minnow by owner in the green ghost or baby bass. And 3. Drifting with the current using a three way swivel with a slinky weight and a glow tube jig filled with crawdad scent. Ill go down fishing again and try to film these techniques
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 where did you launch your boat from because isnt the pens really far away from bridge port ?
I launched at seaton grove boat launch
Hey man a few days ago I was at banks lake and you were the guy who was telling us that this was you first time and we were telling you all about it at banks lake for whitefish
Yes that was me. You talked with us at the launch and helped me find the launch fee envelope.
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 ya man did you guys have any luck at banks lake?
Nope we caught 3 sculpin all were about 3 inches
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 that really sucks You had good luck at Columbia river tho be that is good
Yeah i was blessed on the columbia happy to be able to take people out who dont normally get the chance to catch fish like that. Taking out kids and teaching them is what its all about
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Can you recommend a good wood / burl block supplier for stabilization?
Sure can the easiest thing is to purchase from your local woodcraft store. The next option is to procure your own by calling an arborist in your area and ask to be calles when he takes down a maple tree. And finally i have some maple left from taking down a tree last year
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 Thanks a lot for the quick reply
amazing
So my next question is how can you tell when it's done. Meaning when there is no more essential oil That's going to come out
Also good question what i like to do is make a mark with a pen on the outside of my oil collection unit wait 20 minutes if it passes the mark youve gaines oil if not youve gotten as much as you can. Also the mark is good to leave if it doesnt pass cause then you know about how much you should get on the next run assuming its the same material
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 and the same amount?
Yeah assuming youve loaded the same amount of material you should get around the same oil
How long does it take to fully distill
Thats an excellent question. It depends on the variety of lavender in my experience folgate may take an 1.5 hours while grosso is 2 to 3 hours to get all the oil
It sounds like you had a super interesting species. How did it turn out?
It was interesting the oil had a slight mint like note to it. The only problem was it didnt make much oil compared to other varieties i usually get to do.
@@naturalchemistessentials4258 Thank you for the footnote on this plant material. Appreciated!
totally hot guy who's smart plus plus! anyhew I tap cedar and pine trees, I'm trying to figure out how to turn it to cedar oil, also I noticed an increase in my energy level after about of week of collecting cedar/pine resin and did some reasearch and I read that it's also some kind of super food, which would explain the energy hike. Have you every heard anything like that and also do you know how to process the resin into cedar oil???
There is two ways to make the cedar or pine oil from the resin the first is what i do which is steam distillation the other is the same process of making "birch oil" not sure the name of the process but do a youtube search on "making birch oil" and that will work for your cedar and pine as well let me know how that turns out
HOW CAN I GET A SETUP LIKE THIS FOR ITS PRODUCTION IN I NDIA
Good question. You might be able to find someone local who builds stills. I know if a couple people in india that make essential oils
Hi guys, awesome video! I am interested in doing this. I'm just getting started, but where in the world can a simple man like me who works on small projects in my garage get some maple burl or spalted maple or any kind of hard woods? I appreciate you.
I have some burls. Message me on my facebook. The easiest way to get them is to befriend an arborhist ill do a video soon on how to cure wood for turning
Also another option would be going to your local lumber store or woodcraft would also sell such thingd
