Too bad when it's installed on a right-handed door (as it came) you have to turn the lock the wrong way to lock/unlock, and nothing to be done about it :/.

Right, zero instructions in the package...sadly. So many products manufactured in China come with inferior instructions or missing instructions & guides and poor English. It must be a running joke in the factories in China. Thanks to this video I managed to reverse the handles, but it sure wasn’t easy, perseverance paid off.

I went today and found that the b60 lock looks different now. I was able to find the same design in the deadbolt and enter lock combination set. I'm worried that Schlage might have changed their design. Anyway, heads up.

Thanks - the handles can be tricky to pull off. I found it easiest to install the set, then switch the handles. You have more leverage that way.

My latch would not turn far enough or release, but I could not rotate anything 180 degrees. Turns out I needed to pull the inside latch double "hole" horizontally (away from the latch itself).

Absolutely fantastic Benchmark video for every single DIY help video out there. What an example. I have struggled with this for an hour and the instructions were absolutely no help at all. The manufacturer's website did not provide anything clear. You nailed it within 2 minutes. Must use the key and turn. Had no idea! Schlage should pay you for yourwork here. Thank you!!!

Great video, it solved my problem! I couldn't get my lever to turn down, it would only go up. I knew it had to be an installation error but the solution wasn't in the instructions for some reason. I had to Google "door lever turns up but won't turn down" and luckily this video showed up. Maybe a more descriptive title might help grab some extra clicks. I almost didn't click this video but I thought why not I've tried every other video. Thanks for producing this!

Thanks so much! My model #F58 PLY 609 square drive shaft was 180 deg. off. It has never worked so good! It's 10 yrs old and I've struggled with it for yrs. until now. Great video and customer support!

Have the same lock but don’t the key to unlock the key to remove the lever and to gain access to the cylinder to shim and to rekey. What suggestions do you have for me.

Worked like a charm to fix my thumb latch that wouldn’t depress. My husband walked in as I was just finishing up and at first he was like “what are you doing?!?!? I hope you didn’t mess that up worse!” And I was like “nope, I fixed it!” And proceeded to show him how it works perfectly now! I love DIY RUclips videos!

Thanks! Saved time trying to figure out how to remove that shield. Btw, you do not have to remove the 2nd screw at all. Just remove the 1st screw, turn the shield until tab & slot lines up, lift and remove.

Well, sometimes, kinda. Some of these Schlage Lever Entry handles CANNOT be switched. This is the case with a F51-ACC619 and those like them. Notice on the video above that on both of those handles, the hub of the handles (the part that actually slides into the lock body) are somewhat oblong. On some sets, the hub on the INTERIOR handle (holding the lock twist knob,) are completely round, while the exterior is oblong. These kind of lock sets cannot, no way, be switch around. Totally different insides.

I have a mid century entry door knob where it was installed so that the key is upside down from the other two locks on my house. The lock does not function with my house key. I would like to try reversing the orientation up and down so that if there is a problem with the lock re-orienting it might help. Plus I wants to fix it anyway to be consistent. These are brass door knobs with a lock on the outside and a turn nub on the inside. The handle reversal video does not apply to my door knobs, but I am asking if there is a technique for re-orienting the keyhole. Thanks.
