Bro, you earned your way to where you are. Can't say im not envious. Candiria, Ken mostly, was responsible for me quitting drumming twice....lol. After their 1st album, then quit again after their 2nd. It took me a year to learn Temple of Sickness all by myself... Good luck, and PLEASE dont ever lose that edge that Surrealist Madness had....

Cool story but I was genuinely saddened when I found out Ken wasn’t a part of the reunion when I saw that 1st show of them being back together in Brooklyn. Something about the new album just doesnt gel for me. Ive tried to listen to it straight through 20 or so times. I want to like it so badly. I didnt care for What doesnt Kill you either so I guess Im just stuck in 2002. Danny is a great drummer but Ken will always be the heart beat of Candiria as far as Im concerned.

I'm sorry to have to say this... but c'monnnnn guys. The interview should focus on drum parts that Danny wrote. All three sections here that feature him playing are showing only parts that Ken Shalk wrote. Fan since 1993, own every album, evangelize the shit out of you guys to anyone that'll listen - so know I love and respect all of you. Love Danny as the new drummer, but poor choice of drumming clips... I want to see him playing shit off the new record, not Ken's parts.

The first time I heard of Candiria was at a CBGB's show back in 96. I remember first hearing them break the song up with jazz and thinking "Thanks for letting us catch our fuckin breath before the next wave of madness comes." Such a great band.

67 plays is a fucking insult. I don't see what Metal blade is doing for them. Metal fans would love these guys if they actually heard them.

I remember back in high school seeing y'all play with Haste and Soul Brains at Cardi's in Houston. I made a really shitty shirt that said "herb biscuits" on it and gave it to, I think, Ken. Looking back, it's a little embarrassing how shitty that shirt was but y'all acted genuinely appreciative about it, and that show will always be a positive memory for me in part because of that. So thanks for indulging a dumb kid back then.

I first seen Candiria when they were on tour with Clutch, around the 300% Density release. That show changed me as a musician, and I have been a fan ever since. It's great to see you guys back at it.

This is one of my favorite songs on the album but it is such a creative album. They have there classic grooves & some off timing stuff but it's deeper. The production is the best they ever had. Jazz parts & hip hop parts are amazing. His vocals are better than ever. I mean I love the old death rap vocals on surrealistic madness this just hits every spectrum.

Dude, fuck yes. It's a good blend of old and new Candiria.
