Our Mallard Duck, Beaker, Returns Home After A Long Winter
Просмотров 198 тыс.11 лет назад
This is our Mallard that we hand raised, He will be one year old this spring. After leaving for the winter in Michigan he returned home early to catch up on some eating where he grew up, our kitchen. He is now house trained and eats our dog and cat's food...in one sitting...like someone is going to take it away from him!
He's rather young. His head is not as green as you normally see on male mallards.
Ive come to realize a duck is the only life form that eats faster than me......
did he come home with any new tattoos? 🤣
Very cute mallard 🦆 ❤Beaker is King 🦆
Nice duck what is his name
I raised mallards and love them so much.
what a woderful story.. though years ago!
Did you guys let him go and he flew away? We have a mallard duckling that was found outside our home in Arizona, and we’ve been raising him and wondered if he or she will fly themselves and instincts will kick in. I’ve read not to set them free in the wild but I’m unsure
😂😂😂 I want one now!
Eating like there 's no tomorrow!💩🦆
Is that a cross between and drake mallards and a hen mallard or just a young drake?
I believe they are called a Rouen duck, they are bigger than a mallard.

Kevin I just showed this to someone at the eagles❤
Duck is so happy that he doesn't have to hunt and search for food.. And btw I wouldn't push him out, after that trip. He can snuggle next to me and we watch shrek
Hello, I live on a lake and am seriously considering getting 3 mallards to keep as pets. Once they become old enough to be outside full time, I would like to keep them in my backyard which has direct access to the lake. My question is do mallards require a coop to sleep in at night or will they be able to sleep comfortably floating on the water in the lake? The lake never freezes where I live because it never gets cold enough. Also, most of the houses on the lake (including mine) have boat decks. These boat decks have a space underneath that provides good shelter from the sun and the rain. I've seen plenty of other mallards visit the neighborhood and seek shelter like this.
We never had a coop for them and also had a dock and direct lake access and they hung around for a while. Note that we did learn that this was a Rouen duck (like a big mallard but easy to tame). They make great pets.
@@kevinhoule8016 thanks for the info. I prefer Pekins but all the research I've done says a coop or some kind of a shelter is a must have for Pekins.
This video is quacktastic.
He's 🏡 home
2:00 - Removed my Like after how abruptly you then kick him out!
I love it, what a privilege to have a wild animal trust you like this. 🦆🦆🦆
Hi ducky handsome guy
che amore ❤️
Poor guy looks like he just came back from a tour of duty
I don't get why a duck would migrate if it was raised by humans. Also, is it safe for him to be eating the dog and cat food?
Poor guy he’s so hungry 😢. Awe I couldn’t put him outside… I’d have a nesting place for him inside.
What a coincidence, this morning ,mTuesday March 7 , our pair of wild Mallard’s arrived for the third year running… asking for food by the front door, just off a busy main road…. They eat, then doze, then fly off to a pool close by… they will return daily for some time, possibly until nesting.
Awww he’s so precious ❤️🦆❤️ He wanted to come back inside at the end, I’d have just had to let him stay until he wanted to go ❤️❤️❤️
Duck is loving it
The guest in the house why did a duck just break in and steal food
I love your house Mr.Duck! Specially your helpful human pets! 😅
Such a smart duck. Would love to hear about how his remaining years were, or if he is still alive!
الله جميل جدا هلا
It is a miracle when you see it every year. There is no shortage of predators.
She's very cute too
It's a he.
@houlepetshop Reggie would love to meet him. I love the way ducks eat and drink
Give him some duck food for heavens sake!!
9 years later, Beaker is probably dead.
Hungry after a long flight
Awe he wants to stay & visit
It’s so funny and cute to watch a duck wait by a door, and rush for food like a dog
Why did they lock him back outside?
Because after a duck eats a bowl full of cat food, he will have to go number 2, which means poopoo time! It was only temporary.
@@kevinhoule8016 OMG 🤣🤣🤣SO TRUE !! That’s why some people make them wear special duck diapers in the house !! My ducks are semi-domesticated out in the wild, and they do that all the time, but it’s ok cuz we’re on a beach and nature will clean everything up. But at first, I thought you just let him in to eat and then put him back out in the cold...which would be ok if he wants to live out in the wild...But your little guy looks like a domesticated house duck who likes eating cat food...So cute ❤️🦆
Poor ducky! He is soooooo hungry!
thank you for the kindness, love the duck 🙏 Jesus Christ Bless you all Amen
So cruel to kick him out of the house
Are you being serious or just sarcastic?
Animals are much more intelligent than we give them credit for! And soo cute!

Returned home....and went away again.
