quik-latch on web ... I use em to hold the hood down. Made some brackets for under the hood. I am thinking of adding two of these for the deck lid. Use the air cleaner latches, they are longer. As far as the bounce, try adjusting the hinges, get lid laying on the body. Add weather stripping on the body. My understanding, bar should wedge into the slot cut in the body. My SS was the guinea pig, 1st deck lid. Slot was too big, thus the plate. I modified Bruce's design, cut notch in bar.

Same lock that Winnie included. However on my SS, has a one off, plate that Bruce installed ( that is my SS on the website ). I removed the flat bar from the lock. Bent it a little here and there, after many measurements, cut a notch in the bar. The notch lines up with the metal plate, holds the lid closed. If the notch in the body is cut correctly, you will not need the plate. Mine is a one of design, before Bruce re-engineered the lock to work with out the plate.

what did you use to lock down trunk lid? doesnt look like the lock Winnie supplied. My lid bounces around and I dont like the lock that came with it.
