Our First NYC Bike Rides
Просмотров 1023 года назад
We haven't rode bikes in years. This was our first attempt at riding in the city. It was fun, scary, rewarding, and tiring! We are both super excited to learn the bike lanes and a new way of commuting that is above ground.

How to Cut Videos in a Literal Fashion to Evoke Emotions
Просмотров 773 года назад
Cutting in a literal fashion is easy and effective. By showing a basketball when the word basketball is spoken, you are being literal. Using this technique can evoke emotions in your videos that you might be missing by using traditional cuts. Artist Series video: www.happyrootsmedia.com/artist-series Website: www.happyrootsmedia.com

Is the ursa mini 4.6k worth it in today’s time ?
The G2 smokes the original G1. Just get that one
You can get a used G1 for $800-$1,100 right now. A used G2 pro is $2,000-$3,500. If someone had enough money for a G2 pro they wouldn't get a G1 😂.
You right 😂@@KurruptedDataYouT
I own this camera, a 6K and 6k Pro. Ursa image with Sigma Art Lens is a thing of beauty
How would you rate the image quality compared to pocket 6K? Disregarding resolution.
CFast cards can be tucked into your SSD recorder. There is a hole at the top on the control side for the cable to go through. Open the top, put the cards in each slot and close it with the wire feeding through the hole.
is it still good in 2024?
Using a file adapter for the drive is likely the reason you had startup issues. It's like putting e85 in a gas engine and calling it unreliable. Some cars that are gas can take it no problem, some cars will not be reliable but might work most of the time (aka unreliable), and some cars it might destroy them.
Thanks for the honesty. So many reviews are just salesmen trying to sell their wares.
I have the 5DS R and because it is so good, just bought a 5DS, hell of a camera, love using it to photograph deer and landscapes with.
Is it worth spending extra $ for the R version ?
@darkitoni To me no, unless you really pixel peep you can't see any massive difference and one of my pics taken with the 5DS is sharper by far than similar with a 5 DS R.
good review i was gray about getting this or blackmagic pocket
What was the orange cable at the end? Did you tether it or something?
Yeah it was tethered to my iMac while I was shooting in the studio. Most tethers are orange so people don't trip over them as often.
Thank you! help me alot
Really appreciate the insight and very thorough explanation of the camera
What’s the current software in the ursa mini 4.6k g1?
Put it like this the camera shoots in Gen 4 color science you have to manually convert to Gen 5 in post
Unfortunately Canon, in contrast to Nikon, which respects more the professionals who have the Nikon D850, has not presented any new firmware. He could very comfortably. She generally doesn't take care of her models. We have invested a lot of money to buy them. By force he made a new firmware for the 1dx mark iii. Could also be for the canon 5dsR. At least for digital noise and focus. Too bad. We feel cheated.
I’m happy to not see a video about someone moving from NY to Florida
What lense and settings would you recommend when taking group photos?. I have this camera but I am having trouble with group photos, the people at the back are blurry. I am still learning how to use my camera. I hope you read my comment🙏
If the people in the back are blurry and the people in the front are in focus, its an F-Stop issue. I would shoot at F/8 or higher in order to make sure everyone is in focus. Raise the ISO if you don't have enough light. The lower the F stop the less stuff is in focus, the higher the F stop, more is in focus.
Hey I live in southwest florida born and raised but me an my fiancé are thinking about moving to New York but still debating was it worth it for you ? would you advise anyone to do it ?
I would move here again but it's not for everyone. I love seasons, so having them has been amazing considering I grew up in Florida. Normal day-to-day tasks take more effort to get done because not everything is as easy as jumping in your car to go do it. I've only met a handful of people over the year I've been here and they all moved away so it's harder making friends too. Me and my GF love the city though, so it's worth it.
@@happyroots7772 thank you for your feedback I been to New York before I lived there for bout 6 months but I was in middle school and I wanted to move back here to Florida cause I missed my friends so I moved with my grandparents in Fort myers florida I’m 24 now both of my parents live out there I was actually out there for a month between march an April of this year and as of being adult out there I loved it it puts me in a hustle mind set but my fiancé never left Florida and she used to This way of living so Im just tryin to convince her to try it out but if we was to move it probably be Staten Island so that way she feel some what more close to Florida vibe so it won’t be stright into the city
@@HITMAN_EJAY ah okay, very nice. Yeah that will help her with the adjustment for sure. I haven't been to staten but I imagine its easier to own a vehicle there and that alone might help with day to day life/errands etc. Maybe plan a longer trip with her up here before moving, couldn't hurt.
This is a great review. I'm looking at adding this to my collection.
Please do!
Hey bro nice video, quick question is it straight forward to import files from SD card into premiere Pro? I was told that black magic have their own video files rawmagic and not slog files?
It depends on which camera and what you are recording to. Some of them vary but in most cases, people are shooting to "SSDs" or "Compact Flash Cards" or straight to "t5 Drives". All of them are very straightforward forward though. You just drag and drop the clips into your footage folder (where ever you are storing the footage) and then from there, you can import the folder into your program. Black magic "film" setting is a log setting similar to SLOG. They just have different names for what they call their log footage since they are different companies. As far as Black Magic RAW, your best YouTubing around a little to learn more about it, you don't have to shoot everything in RAW though. None of the footage in this video is RAW.
@@happyroots7772 okay cool ..thanks mate
Good video, but look at the lens, not your screen.
Thank you for the feedback. I will try that next time!
What's your favorite EF lenses or ones you would recommend to someone who shoots street / architecture?
16-35mm is wonderful for architecture. A 24-105 is pretty universal for most street stuff, but I don't find it wide enough for architecture often.
@@happyroots7772 thanks might pick up a 50mp 5dr5
& did you? @@sdhute
This is one of the best cameras even in 2022. In terms of image quality, you can use this camera for many years to come. ProRes 4444 and 4444XQ are great. But with this camera you can also shoot in RAW CinemaDNG, which makes colour grading even more flexible in post-production.
Thanks for the content! How does the Ursa mini 4k hold up next to the 4.6k in your opinion??
No problem! Thanks for watching! I have not used one personally. After looking it up it seems like it has the same sensor and the body is identical. I'm sure it fairs well side by side.
@@happyroots7772 Awesome thanks man. Subscribed!
Love it! Thanks for sharing HR! :-)
i'm looking for a camera with great quality someone I know has the Canon 4000D and the quality is I think crap I don't know what they look like developed but the image on the screen is like the old Nokia phone quality and I was wondering of this camera shows a good quality picture on screen after you take the picture
Hi Emma, Yes on the back LCD screen it displays a very clear image after you take the photo. You can zoom in and check focus on them too.
@@happyroots7772 thank you
A friend who has the Mini 4.6k told me a few days ago about the problem of the camera that wont turn on, it was because of one of the connectors on the v-mount plate, if it could help ;) Thx for the video
Yes I can totally see that being the issue with some of them. Mine was taken off and put back on without it helping.
Thanks for this. Just picked up a used one yesterday. So what do you think about the BM Video Assistant 5 12G with an external SSD with USB-C as storage? in the long run it's cheaper then those darn CFast cards ;) Thanks for this video, it helped making my decision to buy one a lot!
No problem! Glad it helped! I'm not sure about the BM Video Assistant, I would want to test one first I think. Just to make sure it's not clunky and adding a ton of weight. I think shooting on CFast and using a smallHD bright, would be my go-to though (mainly because I already own the Small HD and love it) lol. Let me know if you get one and end up enjoying it!
@@happyroots7772 Thanks for your reply man, much appreciated. So I'd start with the Zitay CFast to SSD first (The single one). Should get it in a couple of days so I can test it. Some Cfast cards I have seems to not handle 4K prores 444 very well and stops recording after 15-20 seconds. Let's see how the SSD setup will work :)
@@jimmyodm697 No problem! I hope it works well for you!
@@happyroots7772 Thanks! And yes the Zitay CFast to SSD (single slot) works perfect with 2.5 SSD's. Did 2 tests yesterday recording Prores 444 on 4.6K resolution. Recorded flawless for over 30 minutes. And great to see recording times from over 160 minutes on a 2TB SSD is beautiful of course :D
4:45 - "there is no physical buttons for iris and shutter speed" - 5:14 - What is that? an iris button? No way :D
LOL yeah I mean like a dial for Fstop, not an "iris button". If you've ever used that button you'd know it's useless.
RUclips is such a great resource. Can't believe this video even exists... Thank you man. Lot's to think about! Still contemplating saving 7k getting this second hand over a rigged out ursa 12k...hard choice.
RUclips really is great! If you don't need 8k-12k cropping for very niche projects, I would say go for a used Ursa G2 instead of a 12k!
Is this the g2?
No sir. The G2 has audio dials on the side and ND built-in.
It's also my favorite camera. Reasonably priced, incredibly capable, easy to use. What's not to love? And together with the Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens, dxomark gives it the highest sharpness mark ever measured, beating every Sony and Nikon combination ever measured in that reguard. So count me in as "fan boy #2".
Yeah, the price is amazing! The only thing I ever find myself wishing for is more focus points but it's not worth complaining about because of the price bracket.
That would be the dsr, not the ds.
The cfast to ssd converters have always been the source of my issues with the ursa. Switched over to cfast and problems were solved. Thanks for the video! :)
That's great to hear! Sounds like switching to CFast is worth it, Thanks for sharing!
can i ask what cfast card you are using? im looking for an affordable one but i dont want a write issue with it being too slow!
nice review! honest & to the point
I appreciate that!
excellent review
thank you! :)
i only use cfast card
Cleanest option for sure!
i don't have the problem with the mic, no noise
Interesting. Mines terrible. I also bought mine used so I wouldn't know if it came from the factory like this, but I read some reviews with the same issue.
@@happyroots7772 i bought it used, with a RED mic
Just buy the Fethead Phantom this will solve the noisy preamp issue.
Good review homie
Thanks Ryan!
Great video. it was really entertaining. Keep the content coming. How long have you been making content for?
Thank you! I'm a Director of Photography that's been shooting for 14 years. This is my first VLOG though. I will definitely be posting more to this new channel though!
