It wasn't enough that Gordon Was so Arrogant, Headstrong, & Rebellious, So much so that he came up with this Idiotic Strike Plan to be treated better all Because He says Tender Engines don't Shunt. But then HE had the AUDACITY to just take Edward's Special bond with Hilda Away from him by Getting Hilda into trouble & off Sodor like that, Like WHAT THE FREAK IS WRONG WITH GORDON!!!😤😣53:14

So, this is coming from a guy who lovesssss James as a character, but goddamn….Angel you knocked it out of the park with him in this episode. One part of James’ character I myself like to delve into is the more complicated and emotional aspects of his character. His separation from Gordon, his manipulation of Hilda, everything just is so radically different from any other adaptation of James I’ve ever seen and I strangely love it! He’s more than just smug and vein, sometimes he can be much much more!
Thank you so much! To be honest we never thought someone would give us a more fleshed out constructive criticism comment like this before, but glad you did haha! :D And as for James on the other hand, that is why we chose him for this chapter. James in my opinion is considered to be "the black sheep" from eight famous (12 if you wanna count Oliver, D&D and Emily), because he kinda got stuck in the same place as he did in The Railway Series by the end of his book continuing being cocky, vein and full of himself unlike other characters such as Thomas, Edward and Gordon or in the TV series changing things up a little bit like they did with Percy, Duck or Oliver (CGI series doesn't count except for Diesel and Cranky). So that's why we did here, still being cocky and boastful, but sometimes a bit emotionally manipulating with other when he really crashes out for one reason or another with someone (i.e. Gordon). I know it's not perfectly written and for the most Hilda isn't entirely the main character in this episode and Edward being a bit aggresive towards her as well (which it was absolutely NOT intended to happen like that, honest) but I do hope it was understandable and enjoyable for your watch, besides my English can't be the best at times since I was self taught from my whole life, but I still try my dang hardest to improve better and better over time lol.
