Diagnosis and Teardown of a Honda GX 120 engine (Aidric 4-H project)
My son Aidric is on his second year of Small Engines in 4-H. We had a Honda GX 120 engine with low compression that I thought would be a good project for Aidric to tear into. Ultimately this was supposed to be a Diagnosis, Teardown and Rebuild project, but the parts didn't come in time to support the Rebuild. That will be a Part 2 video. Aidric was learning on the fly as we were making our video, so it isn't super polished, but fun to make nonetheless. This video is part of his 4-H project.

7-13-24 Storm Damage (hail, high wind)
Просмотров 74Месяц назад
We had a bad storm come through our area on the night of July 13th. We were in Miles City when it happened at our house. Miles City got pounded with some high wind and it raised carnage with trees breaking and in some cases, uprooting. I had heard wind reports as high as 72 mph. At the time, the radar didn't show the storm going too far south of town, so we were in for a surprise when we got ho...

On some of the earlier truck firewalls there is clearly a spot where a clutch master goes for the bigger trucks - F600 and up. So you could have stayed hydraulic which is quite a bit easier but you would have had to go to hydroboost on the brakes which isn't a terrible idea either.

I’m really thinking about getting this kit. I have an 89 F250 though. But I deleted the smog/EGR so technically this should fit. I’m just itching to try it. Engine isn’t even put back together yet lol. Mods: BBK Throttle body Ported upper and lower intake Ported heads Doug Thorley headers Mild cam MAF conversion (mustang GT Ecu) A ton of other parts but these are the biggest. I should be pushing 450tq at the wheel before the SC.

I think I would go with nitrous instead of either a blower or turbo. Much cheaper, no patristic losses, acts as an intercooler, super easy install, and an easy 150hp without straining the bottom end. There when you need it, nothing when you don’t. There’s a Fox body in my town running a 460 with forged rods and pistons, Edelbrock heads, power adder comp cam (don’t know the specs) , Victor single plane, Victor spray plate 400hp wet shot, Quick fuel 950cfm ported carb and he’s putting down 850hp to the tires. He’s had the car for years, his daily driver.

There are some spots where there are some decent trails and/or riding on the groomed closed highway. Our steeds for that trip will be the M1000 for me, the Viper for my wife and the kids will get the pick of the Panther or a 1976 Polaris Colt 250. What a find! The unit looks to be incredibly well cared for. It's rare to find that muffler not rotted out, and those recoils are very prone to failure and very hard to find. I have five of these engines, if cared for they are more reliable and last longer than any of the regular 2 stroked of the time. I purchased my main rider from the original owner and his has over 4200 miles on it, been putting 50 miles a year or so on it and it's needed nothing besides crank seals.
