Eleonor Sandresky, composer I Remembering Jon (2020) I Eleonor Sandresky, piano & ebows
Jon Gibson (1940 - 2020) was an amazing musician: saxophonist, composer, collaborator and improvisor. Jon was a friend and colleague whom I still treasure. This piece was created a few weeks after Jon passed as a tribute and memorial to him. He was a quiet presence, quirky and fun and a beautiful friend and colleague in so many ways. If you don't know his music, please take time to check it out. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Gibson_(minimalist_musician)

Sandresky: Strange Energies #7 "Waves" / Eleonor Sandresky, piano

Strange Energies, the album, came out a little more than a year ago. It was an interesting time to release an album that I'd been working on for several years and it called for a new strategy. You can watch the results of that release here on my channel. This is my first performance of this track since the album came out and I made a special video for the occasion. Listen for how the sound buil...

For the Lunar Landscapes: Beaver Moon, Eleonor premiered two Page Turner etudes that she commissioned from Jobina Tinnemans. In 2012 when Eleonor began to create her Strange Energy etudes project, she wanted to include other composers that were creating new kinds of etudes. Jobina was a natural fit. The title of the etudes is a play on musicians having to turn pages of musical scores as they pl...

Brava. These pieces have to be nearly unimaginably transcribed for solo piano, but zowie.
Thanks, Michael!
@@EleonorSandresky I play his music, too. I find the challenge in balancing the conflicting patterns, so that the listener hears both. You are obviously aware of that challenge.
