A glimpse of our very first winter in the french countryside. It's cold, but our castle is finally a living place where people can gather and enjoy some extraordinary moments.

@2:57. Just out of curiosity, what is the structural condition of that tower? It's clearly deforming which is a sign of structural collapse.
In fact this ruin is already 80% dismantled / collapsed, but it still moves because of the hill it's build on. This hill is artificial and is around 1000 years old. The roots of the vegetation on it is keeping it from gliding down, but it cleary needs a stabilization. The tower is not ours but we are on it with the municipality to find the right intervention in order to preserve it !

It's important to have the exact angle when sharpening chain saw blades... you can purchase an inexpensive jig that holds your file at the correct angle for very little money. ❤️🙏

Nice to see you scrape away at the existing surface looking for that original workmanship. The roof looks to be in good shape to preserve the interior that is the greatest benefit. Bon Chance!
It is indeed in a good shape, a few holes due to the latest storms but it's planned to be fixed very soon

Bravo pour cette video très explicite... quel boulot, un grand bravo, on ne peut que vous encouragez... quelle métamorphose en si peu de temps ! Cela va avancer vitesse grand V en 2025 on imagine... Quelles sont les grandes phases prévues ? Gardez le cap et encore félicitations... et on attend la prochaine vidéo (à faire tous les 3 mois peut-être? pour éviter trop d'infos et un format trop long !). et surtout, MERCI de sauver le patrimoine et de faire revivre de tels lieux !
Merci beaucoup, on va essayer d'augmenter le rythme de vidéo maintenant que nous sommes un peu mieux installés (quoi qu'avec 8°c dans le château c'est pas facile facile). Les prochaines phases d'hiver sont de préparer 5 chambres avec SDB pour le printemps, ainsi que la cuisine des traiteurs pour les événements privés qui vont arriver. Et puis, on planifie l'agenda culturel du château en parallèle histoire de faire vivre le lieu tout en continuant à le remettre en service !

@chateauroute Small budget or not you for sure made a good job of it. I am very glad to see that French young people are embarking on saving their own history. (correct me if I am wrong you are a French citizen? I just assumed) I loved your vlog. Every Chateau should also have a special old car. Yours very grand! 🤩🤗
When you sand ceilings, you need to make sure you are wearing masks, because most of the time, the ceiling paint was lead based.
Of course, safety first ! We use special masks with specific air tight filters when we are in dusty condition
