Tom Interviewed by CBS 2 NY with Tips for Holiday Budgeting
So so sad people actually feel like we are suppose to be excited about your so call increase and the cost of ins is more expensive, what are we suppose to be happy about, paid into social security for over 40years…….so, I’m sure I can speak for all of us, it’s insulting that he government acts like they are doing us a solid, I hate to say that 2025 suppose to be thrilled that we don’t get a raise at all…….
Let's not forget to have medical coverage that actually covers most of everything I pay another $100 per month. What a gift
Love the comment "just know you will be paying more" Incredible! 2.5 increase - 5.9. What a gift for us seniors. You know if we were allowed to take our SS tax and invest it when we started working. Hmmmm 15 years old to 70 years old. 55 years of Davi g of investing would be nice to retire on. I guess because we have no choice that beats the "entitlement" lie.
2.5 %is not enouth
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
After Medicare A I'll make $18/mo. more in 2025 than in 2024. After my plan B goes up, I'll be making $24/mo. less than I made in 2024. If I'm lucky we'll make it through 2025 still "owning" our own home, but 2026 doesn't look promising. G'dam this government, how that last $65B sent to the gangster government of Ukraine could have helped us seniors out. Gd joe biden. BTW, that's on 9% inflation.
Prices have gone up 23% because of Biden!😢 thanks a lot congress 😮
Bad advice Tom. Totally disagree with a lot that you say. Easy decision if you need the money at 62-you take it at 62. But the break even point on most payouts is around age 78, so whether I take it at 62, or 67, or 70, it all comes out about the same around age 78, perhaps even later if I invest, rather than spend, all that money. Then if I live longer than age 78 or 79, then mathematically it pays to wait. But by age 78, most people don’t need the money. They’re not very active at that age, they’re not traveling, they’re not interested in the finer things, they’re simply getting by. My advice is take the money at 62 and enjoy what that extra money can provide while you can enjoy it. It not all about the numbers.
I got a 2.5& % increase and then they took it all back plus $20 to pay for my insurance.
This cola is a Major JOKE... RETAILERS RAISE PRICES IN NOVEMBER 2024 YEAR...
Seems like a plan to save the Guv big bucks.
Wait that's about fifty dollars, now after Medicare eats its share and then the medical monthly program eats it forty dollars, what does that leave us with?a five dollar raise,so make that make sense somebody, while billions go to migrants and Ukraine, this is sad.
Ukraine has nothing to do with SS. Use a different platform for this.
We shouldn't have any co-pay for our insurance we have paid enough
Social Security 2.5% is not big news terrible raise!!
And I’d like to know why these insurance companies are posting record profits so why are we paying more our government had better start taking care of our elderly remember we all vote and this guy talking is so full of shit it’s funny
Boy oh boy. I cant wait for my extra pennies that are going to be taken by medicare. So basically i am getting a pay cut just like everyone else on SDN. Got to love our corrupt government
what they never want to talk about is age discrimination when looking for part-time work,im not saying this happens to everyone just saying it happens.
It’s time to create an organization to resolve the senior citizen concern. 2.5% is a total joke.
Especially when the gd criminals in congress try to give themselves a 6.5% increase. Aw, they haven't had a raise in 10 years. I don't see any of them leaving office, and if they do they're like Cortez-Castro and in 6 years go from bartender to $24M net worth.
As far as communist democrats are concerned the elderly are a waste of time and money. If a 70 year old gets stuck in a bankers hospital; as most hospitals are run by greedy bankers, that 70 year old is in grave danger of being euthenized, At 75 unless you you have a strong advocate it will be fine to go to the emergency room but possibly very deadly to be admitted to the hospital. And don't depend on you health insurance company to save you. Pray for the souls of many in the medical industry.
Doesn't help when medicare goes up with it 😡
So if we didn't get COLA maybe medicare would stay the same and we'd be ahead? Just sayn.....
The 2.5% COLA for 2025 provides a modest increase in benefits for Americans receiving Social Security and SSI payments, helping to offset the rising cost of living and inflation. This increase offers essential financial relief for vulnerable populations like retirees.
The thought of retirement makes me cry. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings to fall back on.
True, It has never been easier to understand how to build your money after retirement than it is right now with the inflation, when you may study and experience a completely variegated market passively by employing a successful portfolio-advisor. The impacts of the U.S. dollar's gain or fall on investments, in my opinion, are complex.
I completely agree; I am in my mid 40s, approaching retirement, and have approximately over 2million dollars in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, the Fin-advisor can only be neglected, not rejected. Just do your due diligence to identify a fiduciary one.
This is exactly how i wish to get my finances coordinated ahead of retirement. Can you recommend the financial advisor you used to get ahead?
‘’Marisa Michelle Litwinsky’’ is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
Don't forget your supplement plan will go up too. .
Biden-Harris did that by using our Medicare money on EV crap.
It is time for universal basic income for all.If everyone has money coming monthly it would drop crime dramatically. People steal because they have no money and no basic way to earn it is probably cheaper in the long run to give a basic income to everyone rather than taking people to court for stealing the expenses are enormous. You never hear the old saying, stitch in time saves nine!
Unfortunately when people go to jail they become "slave labor" earning about 60 cents an hour and have taxpayers foot the bill for the cost of the prison. The Plutocacy that own corporate America profits from cheap labor.😢😮😢😮‼️‼️‼️
People who steal will still steal it is called greed! It does not matter how much you give them people that don't want to work we'll always just try to take it from someone else jail is where they that is the problem is it's just all in there are not enough people going to jail no one steals because they are p I have been pouring I've known many people in the same state and they have never stole that being said the little raises the now the government spends too much of our money on the wrong things in the government literally steals from the social security fund
It has been over 53 years since they made a major adjustment to Social Security. Do you think Congress might agree to a 53 year pay freeze?
Oh boy! 2.5 kola increase. An extra $40 a month.. Should I hire a financial planner?
Ya but congress can get a raise a lot more than social security what a big fat joke congress is. They need to take a cut in pay. They make way too much for what they do.
no one mentions it but heres the truth....your smaller check will get smaller cola raises.....and never really catch up...on the other hand...waiting til 70 makes every check bigger...and ever cola by the percentage of the cola....but its huge....
which is 10 dollars and thirty cents...
We really need to do a better job with our seniors.
Lower prices better than 2.5
Oh wow! A big $48-$50.00. Don't leave town. What a joke. Part B is going up $10.00. There goes money out of the Cola.
how much raise and Free stuff do illegals get?? this is the same ol same ol.... SSI gets a raise and Medicare takes it? why even waste time talking about it we all know the drill to well????
SS gets the raise.
@@SandfordSmythe stay tuned.... im educated in this
@jameswarren436 Sorry, I'm just burned out by experts who don't know the difference between SS and SSI.
Medicare always takes the raise away. We're not rich, we're struggling.
Well the rías ist for us its for medicaid
Why do you permit that the y take moneo off of you realizó its not rugby clise we will get les moneo no mater what tórax Web get
How can you talk about an increase? When medicare increase is even bigger than the increase that the government is giving us, so there's no cost of living. There's nothing it's less. What makes you people talk about an increase? When they're taking more away from you than you're getting people can't be that stupid. Man please give me a break
To corporate America (the owners of the USA) we are not Useful as retired workers so we don't count anymore!😢😮😢😮😢😮😢😮😢😢😮‼️‼️‼️
Not only that . They are gonna gut it completely. That is what you call the beginning of the purge! The culling! Etc.
Acting like poorer people or people with lifetime medical expenses have the ability to "create other sources of income" is quite unfair. Many were not highly paid during their working years and only have SS as their source of income. What I want to see is the fraud and abuse stopped. Many people are on disability and those people are not as disabled as they claim.
I won't be here that much longer. I am riddled with disease that will terminate me before 2025 but heed this below: We are living in the last days. If you haven't given your soul over to Christ, you should do it. Every soul is precious. Do it and be saved. Repent and ask Jesus into your life. When you die, you will go to heaven (paradise). We are looking at a Dictatorship under Trump. These Republicans worship a false god. In the past, Trump said that he was the chosen one, Jesus Christ. We will leave NATO and partner up with Russia. We will help Russia annex Ukraine. The U.S. and Russia will probably cause World War III. Our only ally will be Russia. We will be included in the Revival of the Roman Empire in the future because lawlessness and racism will run rampant. Those who worship Trump will be stamped with 666 (the mark of the beast) on their foreheads and right hands. They will not be faithful to God and Jesus. They will be able to sell and purchase with that number. For those who are born-again Christians, come back to the Lord if you voted for Trump. If you don't, you won't die for Christ because you will be stamped with the mark of the beast if you are still alive. And, the Lord will disown you. For those who are born-again Christians, and didn't vote for Trump, and in the future, you weren't stamped with 666, you will die for Christ if you want God to accept you into his kingdom. For those who don't know Christ, you need to get saved. Please repent and give your soul over to Christ. Your soul is too precious to die for Satan. People, die for Christ and don't accept the mark of the beast if you are still alive when the beast appears. People get saved and follow Jesus.
So we will get less money in our check. 50.00 up Medicare up.
Maybe the cola has to be at least same percentage as what Medicare goes up but still doesn’t equal. My part G went up about 10% as my part D went up 200%.
What a bunch of bull crap while they give Ukraine and illegals and terrorists countries billions
F...KING JOKE....
Is nothing
What rock are you living under regarding the reality of COLA & Medicare. We paid into Medicare our working lives plus we are taxed on money we paid taxes on- double dipping in addition to paying for Medicare a second time. This is not rocket science. You can’t make us think we are getting a good thing😮.
Inflation is not down!! Where did you get your information? It’s been talked about by many during political. Just heard dollar value down 26%. You need to elect part D or be charged (fined)$$$ even if you don’t take a perscription.
You do not have to elect part d I don't have it and I'm not required to have it
Actually the dollar is dead and the value right now is 4%.
We are getting a 2.5 increase but the illegals got way more than that thanks Biden you loser
Medicare goes up every year…. It should never go up MORE than the COLA…..How can the Democrats say inflation is going down? Everything went up at least 20% during Biden Presidency…..
Added to my $900 from SSA 2.50% works out to be a whole $2.50 added. Double of what I receive or even Triple would be about RIGHT.
@@keithfreeman5204 25.00??
the good news it your getting a raise but the bad news is your getting less.. we are proud to have giving you a raise.
