Great tutorial!! Did you have to massage the firewall and ortrans tunnel any for the fitment of that combo and what year model is you th400?I have an 86 and I'm wanting to do a 6.0 with th400 with all of the blackheart products too
Thanks! With all of the Blackheart mounts and the 302-1 oil pan everything fit in there perfectly. Didn’t have to do anything to the trans tunnel and the only thing I think I had to do on the firewall was remove a stud where something was mounted so it wouldn’t hit the head. The th400 is a regular stock case th400 from FTI.

Most s10 builds they push the tranny tunnel in. With a hammer or cut . Which allows you access to tranny bolts ? Can you access tranny bolts while engine is connected or do you pull engine to disconnect tranny ? Gauges ? Ecu ? Hydraboost brake boosters are skinner but same length ? What can we do about a/c ? Can’t wait for next video !
Well I never had to remove the trans without the engine because it wasn’t in there that long lol, I’ve since put the whole combo in my new project so can’t really answer that one. I used a terminator x ecu, manual brake booster, and didn’t run any AC or heat.

I don’t have the part number but it’s just regular square mild steel tubing, should be able to order it from plenty of different sources online.

Hey what up bro is there a way to make the original gauges work do some one sale a CAN adapter I want to LS swap mines but I just wanted it all stock
To be honest I’ve never looked into integrating the stock gauges because I intend to use a digital dash anyways.

That’s kind of hard to answer, it’s all in the tune to keep it alive, but at a certain point a stock block is only gonna take so much abuse

Stock th400 ratio…no aftermarket gear set.
Is there anyway to have the same set up with AC and power steering?
If you can fabricate then anything is possible but it’s gonna be tight!

What oil pan are you using? I have a knockoff muscle car oil plan for my swap. Have not set the motor in the truck yet. Did not notch my crossmember. Hope everything fits ok.
I used the Holley 302-1 oil pan. It’s tight but you don’t have to notch the crossmember if you don’t want to. I didn’t.

I know thos video is old but what i did ony old s10 on the outriggers was drill a hole for the tubing to drop down in to. Not sure if it makes it stronger but makes the main hoop stay in place if your working by youself.
That’s not a bad idea, because like you said it’s definitely a pain when you’re doing it all by yourself. I’ll keep it in mind for the future.

No honestly I never measured. I just put my faith in the Holley engineers lol
Nice job on setting up twins on it. You can probably get the downpipes under the truck and get it to dump past the cab. Shouldn't restrict it much, and you cann get a hood on it.

Thanks! Yeah I had to splurge on the dash, pricey but worth it. IATs are around like 240 at the end of a run, so I’m keeping it at 14 psi until I can do an intercooler. Driving around regularly it’s never really in boost so no problems on the street.
The layout of the turbos are the best I've seen on an S10. I'd love to see a video braking down the source for headers, bends, wastegates. etc.
