Need to see what’s considered an “attack hit” in the rulebook. Troy is over the plane of the net doing what I think IS considered an attack hit meaning it can be blocked. For sake of argument, if he can’t block this poky then blockers wouldn’t be allowed to penetrate block option balls. If he was using a setting motion, he’d have a clear argument for the point.

I think this was an attempt at a set and the blocker reached over illegally. The ball wasn't in the plane and it wasn't 3rd hit....and it was not an attempt to go over on 2. Unfortunately, the ref has to interpret intent...which isn't easy.

21:32 I analyzed this with the 4k footage and the ball went down on Alison’s side of the net and should have been Hagen and Logan’s point. I’ll make a short showing the proof eventually. I don’t think it changed the game as it fired Logan up and he ripped the next ball and scored

I would not have ruled he was an attacker. Has to be obvious and while it is possible it is not obvious. At my height I am safe from ever having this argument.

I watch Travis' podcast all the time but I think this is the first time I've actually watched him play.

Looked to me like a knuckle set. Troy was facing away from the opponent and his arm and knuckles were moving in a way to pull the ball away from the net. From video, I'd say the block was illegal because the blockers arms contacted a nonattacked ball on Troy's side. If I were the ref without the video replay, I might have ruled differently if I wasn't paying close attention to Troy's movements. Still haven't seen the full video.

I believe that on second touch it's illegal for that block but if Troy was being honest he was trying to go over not set the miniature guy
