Threads That Bind
США
Добавлен 7 дек 2021
Thank you for checking out my channel. I started designing patterns in 1996 for decorative dolls, scarecrows, Santa's, snowmen, lots of snowmen. I soon discovered my love for wool applique and punchneedle embroidery. In the past 20 years there have been a few moves along the way and I've been able to continue doing what I love. Now I'm settled into beautiful Macon, Mo. and love it here. I consider myself very blessed to be able to have the life I have, creating whimsical designs for crafters like me. To all of my customers along the way I thank you for your love and support. I couldn't be here without you!

So informative! I love how something so simple, referring to the push pins, can make such a difference. A great idea and nice to know about the products used too. Thank you!
So glad you liked it! Thank you :)
Thank you Shawn. That was excellent!
Happy to help :)
I love your patterns Shawn ❤! Just finishing the “Bee Happy” and Garden Tour” They turn out just fantastic. Thank you for the finishing video.. funny how it popped up in my feed as I’m just punching the last border. 😂❤
Awww Thank you so much!! So glad you are enjoying the patterns and the video. Great timing!
Sorry, I am referring to the buttons on the front of the snowman. I am working on this pocket and loving it. Thank you Angela Spring
Glad you are liking it! Do them the same way as one would do the eyes. Here is another video on how I would suggest doing it. ruclips.net/video/Ie_jUfHc-CI/видео.html
How do you do the buttons on the pocket
Hello. I am sorry, I am unsure of what you are talking about. There are no buttons on these.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work!!
Awww thank YOU!
Thank you for such a great video... I have learned so much more than any other video I have watched! And just by coincidence I had already purchased three of your patterns before I found your video! I'm on a sheep kick right now ....I got Garden Tour, In The Pasture and Sunday Social ... Thank you for your darling patterns and your excellent videos!
Awwww thank you so much for your kind words and I am so happy that you found the videos to go with the patterns! Thank you! I hope you have a nice week and happy punching!
amazing video, thank you for this! a question - can I use this kind of wax but clear so I don’t loose the color that was used to paint the frame? I found one from the same company, but transparent/clear
Hello! Sorry for the late reply, but yes! You certainly can do just that and it will preserve your color!
That looks really great!
Thank you!
Great instructional video. Very helpful & much appreciated!
Thank you!
Hello!! I am wondering if the The Original TwistEase works for any hoops? And also if you had any discount in your website thank you
Hello, it should work for hoops with a wing nut. But no, we do not have any discounts at this time.
Как приобрести такие пыльца.?
Beautifully punched & framed!,, ❤
Thank you!
Hi Shawn - I'm new to punch needle and applique. First, I must say that I love your tutorials! I have watched several of your videos a few times each. Even I think that I can do this. I loved your video where you framed a piece. I have no idea of how to accomplish, but again your steps are so good, and they make sense even to a novice like me. I love your patterns, I have so many of them earmarked as favs, that would be pretty much everything. One of my favs is Peace & Joy which I just purchased and kitted with DMC. I think that I need a bit more practice before beginning. I hope that you will have more tutorials on punch needle and applique. Not being selfish but they are just that good. So, thank you for sharing your talent with us all. Look forward to another video and adding more to my wish list of patterns. Pamela A/PA
Awwwww Pamela! Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. I am so happy to know that my tutorials have helped and inspired you! They both are really fun crafts, just take your time and enjoy the process! Thanks!
👏👏👏🥰
🥰
beautiful work and so educational.
Thank you!
Genius. Thank you.
Thank you!
I'm just a beginner, what type of fabric is that? I'm not sure nteresed in using fine threads and needles to make detailed embroidery
It is called weavers cloth.
What beautiful detailed work! Wonderful training. Angela
Are these stands usable while sitting in a chair (like a recliner) or are they meant for table top?
Absolutely they are perfect for your lap 😁
Looks amazing… love it.
I used the woodones that you buy at the craft store but it broke. They do not have enough strength to hold the fabric of keep it tigh
Very helpful. Thanks
Thank you!
Really super cute❤. Thanks for sharing your technique.
Thank you!
OMG, this is great as I was looking for something I that I store and not take allot of space. Great to put on my lap as well
Glad you found exactly what you need :)
I love your patterns…
Thank you!!
Great tip… Thank you sew much.
Thank you :)
Thank you Shawn… love your patterns and enjoy watching your tutorials. I have learned so many new technique’s and I’m a seasoned puncher.
Thank you so much! Happy Punching!
Thank you Shawn… loving this technique.
Thank YOU!! :)
This was a huge help, thank you!
Glad it was helpful :)
Thank you Shawn for all your helpful tutorials… I enjoy watching you and listening to you.❤
Thank you so much!
That was incredibly clear and useful. Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you for the clear instructions!! Have always loved your designs.
Thank you!!
Perfect! Thanks for the demonstration! 👀
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this particular video because I wanted to do more pockets. I have a primitive customer base & use the natural weavers cloth. Have you ever tried aging the cloth before punching? Do they sell light to moderately aged weavers cloth that I could use for pockets but still use the light box to trace the design? I am going to check out your website again for Fall/Christmas pocket designs. Thank you😊
Thank you! Glad you liked the video! You can use a spray bottle with coffee or tea and stain the weavers cloth before punching.
@@threadsthatbind5322 - thanks!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you!
I love that pattern!
Thank you!
That was a great technique and love that pattern. We’re you just punching once for each snowflake on #2 as you were moving along the design?
Thank you very much! And yes, just one punch per snowflake :)
Wow this is perfect! I need to get one. I've just started to learn punch needle and loving it. But need this. Thank you for a great video and explaining how it works. I've subscribe too
Thank you! Glad we could help!
I have placed two orders in the last 10 minutes. I loved this design when I saw it but I was going to make adding the background so complicated I could never have done it. I loved this video and when I saw how simple it was to do, I ordered it right away. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your order and for watching! We hold you are loving your new project!
I am so grateful that you clearly explained the importance of leaving space between rows. I have never seen that described so well in all the other punch needle videos that I have watched. I have had a terrible time with this and now I know why. I was about to give up on it thinking I was hopeless but now I see what I was doing wrong. I just placed an order with your shop! Thank you so much.
Gratidão!!! teu trabalho é incrível e sofisticado!!! Tudo de BOM!!!
Muito obrigado por suas amáveis palavras! Espero que esse vídeo tenha te ajudado :)
Great video! I am fairly new to punch needle and never heard of that product. I usually punch with 3 strands using the #1 needle. Since we are adding another layer of fabric do you think that would work?
Hello! Yes, I believe that it shouldn't be much different for you :)
Do you use 100% cotton or can it be a cotton/poly blend? TY for your previous reply.
Hey. I haven't ever used that, but I think it would work. You could do a small sample to test before doing it on a pattern.
Do you have to use greater than a #2 setting on the Ultra Punchneedle?
Hi Karen, no the added layer of cotton is very minimal you can punch as usual. If you add a thicker fabric you would have to punch deeper to accommodate the additional thickness.
Thank you so much for your tutorial. I have a finished piece that I wanted to do this technique, but had no idea where to start. Awesome!!!
I love this video series!!! Is there a scenario where you would punch the eyes like you did the stars? Thank you!!
Thank you. I do not typically do that for eyes or mouths.
Thank you for your wonderful videos! I love these buttons so much!!!!
You are welcome! Thank you for checking it out.
Thank you so much for making this video, I will refer to it often. I learned so much from watching it. Beautiful work! Asa fairly newbie to punchneedle, I’m wondering where the best places are to get the wool?
I would check your local quilt shop or rug hooking stores in your area. You can find some fabulous things in a local shop. Thank you for the kind words!
Hi Shawn! I just found your RUclips channel. I would like to encourage you to keep making videos. They are very clear and the directions are easy to follow. I have punched several of your designs and loved them. It's been a few years since I've done any punching and was searching for a refresher video. I'm so glad I came across your channel. I'm an avid cross stitcher, but love to add some fun projects in-between my large cross stitch pieces. I see your title includes wool appliqué and would love videos on that also!
That is so great to hear! Thank you for your kind words and welcome to the community.
