New beehive and new beekeeper
Просмотров 59Месяц назад
We got bees on our recreational land! A new and ongoing project that will hopefully yield some honey next year. It’s been a really good learning experience for the 5 year old and he jumps right in with no fear. We built our hives boxes, installed a nuc hive, and treated for verroa mites.
Water line plumbing repair Forest River Wolf Pup 17rp
Просмотров 236Месяц назад
We got a new to us Forest River 17 foot toy hauler travel trailer, but we soon found out there was a water leak. The cold water line was leaking behind the shower faucet and over the gray water tank. It was tricky to chase down the leak and when I did find it, it was in an inaccessible location. I ended up replacing a good chunk of my PEX water line with shark bite fittings.
Dragging the trails
Просмотров 1322 месяца назад
Using a homemade drag to smooth out the trail system. This contraption removes bumps and also prepares the ground for planting.
Pallet Goat Playground
Просмотров 552 месяца назад
We made a goat playground with pallets and scrap wood. I even used a random selection of left over screws. The goats seem to really love this project, and now that the structure has been in their pen for a while, they climb on it every day
Compost toilet, lovable loo style

Rather than run sewer lines we decided to go with a composting toilet. After lots of reading we settled on the lovable loo system as well as a 3 compost bin system.
What is the best machete for cutting trails and clearing brush?
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.3 месяца назад
Have you ever wondered what the ultimate machete is for clearing trails? Hopefully this video will be the definitive answer as we compare a ton of different machetes shapes and styles to figure out which one is the best. We put 17 machetes head to head cutting 5 different materials. The idea is to figure out what design will work best for working in the woods making trails and clearing paths....
Making hiking trails and walking paths
Просмотров 454 месяца назад
A continuation of the trail building process on our new property. I have refined my trail cutting system a little bit and go through my new trail cutting tools. I also demonstrate how to use a bush blade and chainsaw to make new hiking paths.
Tree clearing with a backhoe
Просмотров 4034 месяца назад
We rented a backhoe to remove trees from where my new septic leech field needed to be built. While we had the rental we took the opportunity to dig out the pond and make some tails.

Great job! Looks better than my indoor Franklin now I know how to do it.
Glad I could help!
top 5 most american things ive seen, playing catch with a can cannon being a good runnerup
🇺🇸 America 🇺🇸
these are budget friendly or cheap machetes you should premium or expensive brands like tops condor bark river knives Columbia river knives and tools
I was thinking of getting the Silky billhook which is one of the more expensive ones, but it would make creating a video like this pretty pricey. when I get some better ones I may do a budget vs expensive machete vid.
I learned alot from your video. I'm going to make mine a greenhouse! Thank you!❤
Glad it was helpful, good luck on your project.
Thanks for comparing
hopefully it was helpful, thank you for watching.
At 10:58 while you were swinging the Marbles your cameraman got into the line of fire there. I know already it's going to sound like nagging but please make sure nobody's in the swinging range of a sharp or heavy tool before swinging it - even if you have an amazing grip and a lanyard you can still lose the tool and the last thing you want is someone getting nailed by a razor sharp chopping/clearing tool. While a lot of people would say "oh go buy a tripod for these shots" honestly, with you swinging so low to the ground, you could just have them stand in front for shots like this and the blade would most likely drive into the ground if it slipped forward. Safety first and all.
We definitely try to stay out of the way, but I guess with so many demonstrations we were bound to get too close at some point. Luckily everyone made it home unscathed. Thank you for being worried about us, and thank you for watching the video.
Cool clown show 😂 🎉🎉🎉
we always have fun.
It’s such a great learning experience and having a pond nearby helps them have lots of available resources
so far the bees do seem very happy with their location
At 7:56 time mark i must say I agree with Davis about removing stickers but I am a tad OCD when it comes to such things, so you are not the only one buddy ;-), I found for me the Tramontina Boio machette for a good allrounder and this is agood real world test for machette comparison and a good pace.
Thank you for watching the video and I am glad you enjoyed it. it’s really funny you caught that comment by Davis. I also really like the bolo and it’s one of the 3 that I use the most.
@@recreationalland2585 The comment just resonated with me and I suppose it comes down to me being ordered (for want of a better word) in the way I do things.
I think your problem is that you are loosing vacuum with that bad fitting at the top. If it is leaking air, the pump won’t be effective.
Thank you for the advice, I keep tightening it up, adding pipe tape ect and it still doesn’t want to cooperate
Brush axe
Since I made this video it actually fell off my ATV and snapped in half. I guess I need a new one
Vary satisfaction
Thank you 👍
❤
Thank you for watching
👌
I’m glad you enjoyed the video
Nice👍
Thank you
This video is so helpful since there aren’t comprehensive guides specific to the pipe system in the wolf pup
Ha ha, that is for sure
Such horrible music.. It fills me with rage.... like lego batman. other than that, cool vid
You have rage like Lego Batman, or Lego Batman gives you rage ?
I love the collaboration of the generations! Happy goats!
The goats already want more toys
We let the goats out this morning so they can work on keeping the trails trim and tidy
As long as they stay away from the black berries
As a land surveyor, I hate briar. Even longer machetes can still lead to you getting got. That also happens to be why I’m watching this video. Looking for a good machete for my job. Honestly, shorter machetes aren’t worth having around for trail clearing. You’re just gonna get smacked in the face repeatedly, and wind up with a sore back. Even the best short machete, for trail clearing purposes, doesn’t match up to a middling longer machete for the simple reach factor
We for sure had more success against the briars with the longer machetes. Hopefully the video will be helpful in your search for the right machete, thank you for watching.
I just saw on tv how much goats like climbing - it’s nice to accommodate their natural instincts
They all 4 go up there now
Geeez anyone can build a goat tower, a real pro could build a camp site near a pond. 😂
Thanks for watching, you should come see the campsite
Absolutely great list of what is needed! And a good arc set up for taking a lot of equipment! I’ll for sure be using some tips from this:)
Thank you, I really appreciate it.
It’s funny how much Day likes the independence of using the compostable toilet - also, always cute to see the goats with their winter fur coats 🩶🤍
Yes the little one really likes to poop in the compost toilet all on his own.
That is one hell of a beautiful lawn!
Thank you, we really do enjoy having it. I have an area of grass where we don’t plant any trees to make a soccer field for my 5 year old.
The blueberries are very appreciative of being rescued from the weeds :-)
The big test would be a taco bell night!
I think it will hold up 👍
Next time but the 2×4s vertical then cut some 2 ×4s in 4 foot 2×4s then nail them to the insides of the pallets leaving them put them at least 1/2 stocking out the ends. That way they reach to make a pitched roof.
Thank you for the suggestion, there will be lots of changes next time I put one together
Thank you for the suggestion, there will be lots of changes next time I make one
aaaahh ,the good side of the internet :)
For sure 👍
Very comprehensive video. Who knew there were so many options.
Glad it was helpful!
This was a really fun weekend! I’ll have to do something similar with my hatchet vs tomahawk!
Yes, and we need to do a camp machete video
I got me 5 acres to work on too. It’s not much but I think I’ll have fun making the trails. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you for watching, good luck!
Wanted to point out that the dip stick hole is quite small on the 2021 and after because just above the oil filter there is a larger fill hole. This larger filler hole allows you to use a funnel much easier and with a lot less mess. It can be seen in your video at 1:54.
Yeah, I need to update the video to show that
Yay, Daniel! Hard work for all.
Love the dance frames!
Yes indeed!
Great finale!
Thank you!
I love the surprise wildlife at the end!! And, of course, the up close videography of a five-year-old in the middle.
He is becoming a videographer for sure
That premix really isn’t cheap but like you said I think it really does work better in those trimmers. It felt like mine ran better too
It really seems to help
Very good video, but the music is so awful I can barely watch it
Thanks for watching, a lot of my other videos don’t have music
Agreed, great content. Music made me wanna rip my ears off lol.
Hooray for help from Daniel!
It’s good to have some kind of professional oversight
Bro lol.
It is a marvel.
너무나 자연적인 방목에 아름답기까지 합니다
Thank you!
Yep my number one tool also the round brush blade I just try my best not to get it in the dirt cause 1 time and it’s dull and 10 minutes sharpening but being out in the woods is so peaceful
That is true, I try to keep it out of the dirt the best I can. Thanks for watching the vid.
It looks so fresh and green
Carolina springtime
Keep the candle. At the very least use it to lubricate zippers.
That is true
@@recreationalland2585 it is also a fire extender among other things. Anything that can fit and is multi use generally stays in my gear load.
Back in my day we didn’t have any tablets or video games as kids we just had to play outside and get muddy, oh wait! That is awesome to have water without power but I can’t help but feel that there could be a way to use a battery powered drill or jigsaw as a way to work the pump faster
Love it!!
Cool well and pump! A work in progress.
Great video. The goats seem to appreciate their environmental science lesson. Excited to see if the leathers make a difference.
Hopefully, they are still in the mail but should be here soon.
Nice pack. A folding saw and a machete can come in handy and easily fit in there as well
I do have a machete that was not in the video. I’m actually working on a machete comparison video that will be out in a few weeks. Thanks!
chicken wire on the inside mightve been a good call. Most goats are good at climbing, sometimes youll have a goat thats REAALLLLY good at climbing. if he is climbing it should be harder with the chicken wire added.
I really hope it works
Could be jumping over?
I don’t think so, but noting is impossible with goats
Goodbye freedom, Rocket Shippy 👋🏻
I hope so!
I definitely need to get something like this setup. I can bug out with my camper so long as gas is available. Also a GMRS radio or boafang could be useful!
Good call!
