That midfield and attack for Spurs of Modric, Van Der Vaart and Parker, with Bale and Defoe was such a good combination. Sadly, Lennon was was a dangerous players but lacked end product a lot of the time. So glad he didn't go to Chelsea. He was too good for Chelsea and wouldn't of become the player he did at Madrid.

Why is it that you guys can only praise one player by putting another one down? Modric is a supreme midfielder and will go down as one of the greats. But to call Iniesta or Xavi trash is plainly wrong. The differences are minimal. But in professional sports those minimal differences are what decide championships.

Ronaldo has obviously lost some pace, and he can't run up and down the wing, so he plays centrally as a striker and gets tons of goals. Same with Messi not being able to run up and down the pitch, and he has converted into a creative midfielder, and he gets tons of assists. Modric still plays exactly the same way he did back then to this day

There were a ton of great midfielders born in Modric's generation playing at big Premier league clubs. Alonso and Gerrard at Liverpool, Essien at Chelsea, Carrick at United, Carzola and Arteta at Arsenal, Toure and Silva at City, Fabregas at Arsenal and Chelsea. Who would have thought the midfielder who ended up with the best legacy by far was the one playing at Spurs.

I really am not a fan of the “when he did this one thing, that’s what made them want him” the truth is modric was the start of a rebuild for Tottenham that led to quite a few CL campaigns. And his consistent play taking Tottenham from being middle of the road at that time back to top 6 made Madrid want him. Now there are some players who get their transfers due to one game or a group of five(James Rodriguez), but modric was Beginning to show his consistency to the levels of a young schweinsteiger and purloined level. Real madrid has had an absolutely insanely consistent midfield and that’s what they were looking for when they grabbed the three guys they grabbed. Not individual games but overall consistent player for 2-3 years

Nice video. Modric is definitely among the best midfielders of all time and if you say the best I wouldn't blame you. Once your among the elite it goes down to who's style of play you like better. When you start saying who's better..Modric or Iniesta.. does it even matter both are legends in their respective clubs and would be a joy to watch in any game. It's just who you like better
