I remember these street races we raced in. Went to a lot of towns. Kart number 10 was Jimmy Davis. He was my brother and passed away today after having a stroke. We had a lot of fun times back in those days racing with the IaKA.

This was the first race that my dad ran in, thanks for posting it!

Hello Is this the same as L206 kart? I raced KT100's in the 90's in MI. Looking to get into a class as competive and active as they were. I don't see much online for MI now?

My Dad & Jeff Bartlett won a couple of Ia.K.A 2 cycle class championships in '86 & in '87 Jim Eckert (had the black skeleton leathers in the end of video) won a 2 cycle class championship. This race was just north of where we live. (Oakland, IA)

Cool show, can’t imagine putting syrup on tires n concrete and running methanol in a Briggs n Stratton. And cutting tires with wood working hand tools! Unbelievable

Sorry I didn't get to meet you Jerimiah. Nice video production and good attitude. The Showdown is an outstanding format and great track I've learned to love. If you choose to return sometime here's just a little advice based on what I saw. BE PATIENT and lay back when trouble is imminent. These are long races and patience pays huge dividends. Let the others make their mistakes, especially lap 1 and find escape routes. Settle in and let the race come to you. Lay off the brake!. In CW direction you should merely tap the brakes twice per lap, turn 8 and Off Camber. You looked great in Heat 6 because you calmed down. Keep coming back and you'll figure it out. Thanks for the presentation.

I feel your pain. I raced in the 2019 Showdown and it was extremely frustrating. I got wrecked on lap 1, turn 2 of heat 5 by an aggressive move. I had seen him do it several times to others the previous day with zero consequences. The rest of the race unfolded as I repaired my kart. That was about the time I wondered if it was worth it. So much time and money spent to have your day ruined by a lack of race craft or sportsmanship. I ultimately decided my time and money weren't enough to stick it out. It's too bad. I really loved the racing and the people.
