Tuftonboro Corner Fauna and Flora for July 2024

Opossum, racoon, gray fox twins, deer, doe with fawn, red fox, coyote etc.. Once again mostly the gray fox twins. They are active and healthy. We have been filming this brother/sister duo for 5 years now. They live, hunt, play and explore together but do not breed.

Typical June traffic at the corner. Only one bear though and no moose. Last year we were inundated with bear, boar, sow and cubs. Mostly the gray fox siblings that are being taped for the 5th year. They are male and female twins that reside together in the next lot. She is the alpha which explains why no kits.

Many videos of the gray fox siblings that we have been filming for 5 years now. I finally got around to changing the batteries and time/date stamps on most of the cameras. This month aside from the gray fox we have red fox, deer, racoon, coyotes, chicken ( in a red foxes mouth) bear, opossum etc.

Red fox, gray fox, wounded fox, turkeys, opossum, deer, piliated woodpecker, house cat, humans and tree rats. I have yet to reset the time and date stamps on a few of the cameras so they will say a different year/time. All these videos and many more of tree rats and a GSD (which were deleted). Still no bear. Last year at this time there were many weekly.

Pay no attention to the time/ date stamps. I need to reset the cameras next battery change. Fox, gray and red, coyote, deer, chickens, dogs and cats and other things.

Winters are slow here in regards to wildlife. Mostly red (black legs) and gray fox, coyotes, tree rats and a couple of snow shoe hares. A deer, turkey and maybe some other creatures but it's been a while so I've forgotten.

Deer, bucks and doe, gray fox, Opossum, crow and neighbor who kindly disassembled a 200 year old mutual stonewall to put a culvert in that floods my trial that I have walked daily for most of 35 years. Pretty sure he knows it wrong as he has disabled the cameras in the past. He's out in February and I will fill the holes he made in the wall so the runoff once again goes to the stream just a few...

Sparse wildlife this month. No new buildings that we know of. Octobers past have had quite a variety. The gray fox twins are still without mates, odd for a brother and sister.

An uneventful month. The gray fox twins are still about. This is the fourth year filming them. Twin brother and sister. Turkey family, tree rats, trash pandas, Opossums, coyote and other other fauna that I may have missed, or not. This may be the last year of filming as it is getting expensive and my health is failing.

Mostly gray fox as they have taken up residence at the next door woodlot. This is our fourth year filming this brother and sister set of twins. They are very resilient considering how lean the winters can be up on this hill. Neither seems to have found a mate. There is a tod red fox around but the gray vixen has shown no interest in him. Bobcat, polecat, quill pig, whistle pig, opossum, bear and lots of deer. Hot muggy wet month so far. The berries are ripening now so there should be plenty of bear in part II.

@@calebpettigrew6835 yup. And I named the one outside my door this fall Charlotte. I’d say hi to her every day when I would go out and come home. She was very chill. Was horrified when a slightly smaller spider attacked and ate her. 😭
@@trinabina3900 Omg same I always looked at a sliver orb weaver at my school i look at her every day and feed her ants, but when I came back i only saw her web but i saw her dead a big green jumping spider is eating her, i cried.

I absolutely hate spiders and cry sometimes when I see one in my house if it's a big one !! But I watch videos of them and they are so creepy to me ? Family send me pics of the ones they encounter !
