No, I am not asleep on Starfield anymore. I uninstalled, because I got sick of raiding the same handful of bases again and again. I think Starfield was designed to eventually kill you with boredom.

Critics get hung up on frame drops or wooden looking npcs or some other minor nitpicks. What they miss is what you've illustrated magnificently here. The stories the player can tell to themselves with Bethesda's world as the backdrop, that's the real magic. & i'll confidently say that for me, starfield equals any Bethesda game world (hell, any game world by any developer) on that front. Nice edit. Glad you're making more of these.

Im having the time of my life playing Starfield. I took a little break b/c it was so many dope games i had been on like Cyberpunk2077/Phantom Liberty...Its sooo much to do that u decide if u want to get into...Right now im actually doing constellation missions, not the main story b/c thats complete but the constilatiion mission board...Ive done all the factions, main quest, etc. I love being apart of the vanguard...I never did new game plus, so im still on my 1st playthrough @ level 76...1 thing i put time into was weapon & suit building, so i go to a planet to survey, if theres a civilian settlement i always go to check & see if they need help, then i go to maybe 1 abandoned station, wipe them out & take the suits & weapons, take the resources i gathered while surveying the planet & upgrade the suits & guns then take them to the trade authority in the wold den to get money. Then i take the survey data & sell it to vald...B4 i stopped playing i had put alot of time into upgrading my decorations so ive decorated my penthouses, but the best thing about the update is now u can craft & decorate inside ur ship...Maaaan my ship is so perfect in the inside for me & my crew. Its like a home. The bottom floor is really the chill spit & kitchen & its a bedroom there also. The 2nd floor os the work floor where the cockpit is, the breakroom, a bedroom, but its really the work floor where i have all my crafting machines & thats where i upgradethose weapons & suits i got from taking out pirates. Im also able to carry more on my ship being able to craft storage crates. Its just sooo much to do. U create ur own missions

Very interesting point overall, I agree with your ideas and I’m excited for the unity/starborn aspects to be fleshed out even more with the great serpent etc. Keep it up man I love videos like this and it’s been a shame that there haven’t been a lot of lore/theory videos around Starfield so I’m glad I found this

Why BGS didn't include a radio or some music player like Fallout 4 makes no sense. It would make the game more immersive.

I believe there is a mod that plays it without Spotify. Uses the number pad to change stations and volume

I think it's going to be a big dropping off of the "fix the base game first" crybabies. There's going to be a penny drop moment where they realise "hey, maybe this just isn't my game". 😂 But for those of us who've enjoyed starfield so far, this is tge first look at how Bethesda are aiming to develop this universe further. It's also likely we won't be waiting a whole year for the next one either!

I just wanted to thank you for a great video. Watched it all the way through. I agree with most all of your opinions. I’ve gotten my player to level 150 3 times. I have not ever completed the games storyline haven’t used Game+. Mostly I build ships a few real crazy ones. 90% of my gameplay is stealing ships on extreme settings. I do use mods and love this game!!!

Andreja was my least favorite companion too I didn’t get the hype for her. But either way I’m pretty happy in my current universe that has no constellation in it. Very excited for the dlc. A new companion just for the dlc would be amazing

I watched it to the end though, I think the music competed a lot with the narration. I made it to NG+1 and, having lost everything, resolved to just do my own thing.

I roleplayed as a captain who knew his crew well. The catch was that I lost Barrett.

I just restarted and have an idea for my alternate start: completely perked out and fully qualified, having the Frontier, but no credits and no stuff.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. Starfield is a boring game, this coming from someone who played the crap out of Fallout 4 and like it, bugs and all. And there's nothing wrong with my imagination. I'm imagining you playing Cyberpunk 2077 and enjoying that better, and maybe... it's... working???

After listening to Black Box I can never look at wooden ducks the way I used to. The same goes for ventilation tunnels, ships landing near by and a number of other things. Willy Kino is awesome!

I really want to start a new modded playthrough but I'm afraid that the DLC will break a lot of mods on release .. Damn it's tempting ^^

I like Starfield. I have nearly 1200 hours in it. You get out of this game what you put in to it. There are certainly things that could be improved, like change up the facilities so they aren't all cookie cutter, but that might have been a decision to keeping the size down on an already humongous game. Still, that is an opportunity they missed. But it is still an impressive game.

Bought this game mid july and now sitting at 400 hrs, i havent even done the side quests 😂 just busy rushing to NG+10 and completing main & faction quests and building some Vytinium outpost for millions of instant credits.

Cool vid. The alternate start mod is a must but if you gotta go through all this pretending to make a boring game fun then maybe the real issue is with the game itself. Whatever criticisms were made about New Vegas, Fallout 4 etc, they never held more truth than critiques about Starfield. It would take a massive Cyberpunk type overhaul of Starfield's core mechanics to make Starfield an actual fun game.

Got it since day one, beat it two times, play around with mods, spend 300h in it. Currently wait for DLC. Fun game if you know how to play it. 8/10 for the time im spend in it. 7/10 overall

My brother bought this game for me on Steam a year ago. I still haven’t even downloaded it. Ive never really enjoyed Bethesda games having tried Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 4.

Honestly, the fact they weren’t included to begin with, was just a completely ignorant decision. I’m hoping, like many others, that this DLC will be a return to form for Bethesda storytelling. All on one planet. But, it’s a tempered optimism. I’ve been enjoying this game. But, It does suffer from lack of content, though. Repeating locations and such. Oddly, there really isn’t many weapon choices, either. My biggest gripe with Bethesda and Starfield is they always set up extremely interesting back stories to go with the game. The colony war and Va’ruun crusade. That seems vastly more interesting than what we are presented with, currently. They allowed you to take part in the civil war in Skyrim. I simply want more things to do. Why can’t I join the UC military in an official capacity? The only choice is the Vanguard or SysDef. Both of which don’t reward you properly at the end. Oh, wonderful. I get to be an Uber Citizen instead of just a regular citizen. Wow! I get a small chunk of money and access to the SysDef mission board. Talk about being crapped on. Freestar collective isn’t much better. Hell, you don’t even get a ranger coat at the end. What the hell happened to Bethesda? Say what you want about the Brotherhood of Steel, at least I get to be a Paladin at the end. My hard work and dedication pays off. In Starfield, you’re “thanked” for your risk of life and limb, and hurriedly rushed off with not even a thought given to what an indispensable asset you would make in the rank and file military. This is just a lack of imagination at best, and plain ignorance and laziness at worst. I just hope Shattered Space delivers something with SUBSTANCE.

Starfield isnt as much like previous BGS titles imo mainly cuz i feel like it was more intentionally on the build ur own story. Where will u take ur space adventure. Also why the MSQ is layed out the way it is. Stakes arent as high for it, and why they really implement the NG+ as a core loop rather than just load before the last mission or thats it side quests now. Starfield is kinda meant to be played slow and enjoy even the slowest/minor of dialogue and quest. I just came back after a year of not playing it also cuz Ive been maaad busy with personal things and was away from my pc. Logged 160 hrs on my 1st playthrough and missed out on so much cuz I was just busy doing bounties, the Ryujun quest line, and MSQ. I have not played the other quest lines was intentionally saving it for new playthroughs where i role play as the good semeritan that wouldnt mind helping out anyone, or someone who actually cares about making and living in their ship as a space scoundrel. Currently on my 2nd playthrough mainly cuz I also wanna make mods for the game but man im seeing so much that I didnt know was in the game at all when interacting with NPCs. Even some sections of New Atlantis I never knew of. Has me pumped to go home every night just log in a few hrs. Gonna get to Akila soon cu, the only city i would say i explored was Neon I didnt interact with New Atlantis or Akila practically at all. I found a new appreciation for this game even with its flaws cuz there are quite a lot lol.

High expectations in some ways, but frankly that is good to hear; I enjoyed the game immensely and played it almost every day for months with only some technical issues to complain about like the ship shield issue. Having played Bethesda games since Morrowind first releasing, I don’t think an expansion has had quite the intriguing promise of exploring the mystery of House Varuun. And if the expansion connects into the Unity and Starborn I do think it could add a lot to the game, but just having a denser and more hand crafted region, a different kind of experience, could be great.

Why? Shattered Space is typical Bethesda in the layering of new content ontop of broken older content instead of going back and fixing the old. CDPR at least went back and overhauled core game systems with Cyberpunk while adding their DLC. Bethesda won't do that
