How convenient that we don’t see the actual work taking place. Good luck not removing the intake… Then again- some of us are honest about reassembling like it’s never been stripped……..

Our eps all of sudden broke, this is going to be Really Expensive for our Mistubishi Colt Plus car if it's not just a simple light because its hard to steeeeeeeeerrrrrrr!!!!!

Thanks for this video! Just the right amount of "how to" for someone that has done some wrenching. I used this to help me replace the alternator on my 2016 3.3l V6 Sorento and had no issues. Saved about $450 doing it myself - took 3 hours.
No one has one on the 2016&up😢😢

Hi , thank You very much for research and that You shared this information, it helped for my Mitsubishi colt 1.3 petrol 2006 europe version, I just bend a litle bid connector pins, and whola, EPS worked like charm, by the way after ECU scan I got this fault: Code No.C1541 Locking fail safe relay on, so it means that in EPS ECU there is relay what is not working right, but it seems this pin thing does the fault. I alos researched that there was recall for that socket thing. THanks again, blessings to You!!!
How you bend it did you put the cable out of the Connector?
@@Bodenlos8601 Hi, Actually in my case was different after some time problem accured again, but it was problem in Electric steerinc ECU block, there is two relays and one of them was faulty I guess. I cutted + wire what goes from EPS ECU to electric motor and put there time relay 100A with 2sec delay. Idea is that when I turn on car EPS also turn on, then after ecu is on after some delay relay turns on electric motor, I bought time relay and 100a relay from aliexpress, all problems went away, I am driving now for some 3 months daly - no problems any more.

Ahh wicked. I'm going to have a look at this. I've had a very intermittent EPS light stating on. Today it was working and then came in while driving. I'll check this connection, but I did have a feeling it may be a loose connection somewhere.

That bracket is it adjustable. I can only get one bolt in. I think they sent me the wrong alternator. I have a bottom boat and a top boat that’s all that hole in it.
Mine had the same issue. I just cut the bracket and she fit perfectly

Good information, thanks. Your info about identifying the different 3 and 4 spade connectors was particularly useful - I can't get the bung out of mine with the alternator in place but your advice identifies mine as a 3 pin so I can go ahead and order my replacement. Cheers.

Mine is a RA 3 LTR DIESEL 4X4 all I had to do is take the fuel filter off and it slip past the hoses and out though the inner guard. 😅

I dont know how close this is to the Kia Sportage v6, but I replaced the alternator without removing the compressor. I'm not sure it was needed. Maybe two different motor types. All in all a real pain in the patutee. I am going to replace the valve cover gasket soon, its been slowly leaking on the exhaust and smelling of burning oil, not much, just drips, but it is saturating the alternator. The old alternator was thoroughly soaked in oil and probably why it died. The new alternator has been working fine for awhile, but I really need to do the gaskets. Been waiting to get my other cars working and fully operational before doing the Kia. I had a clunking sound, not real bad but annoying. I have the rear sway bar links coming tomorrow and already started on the front. The front sway bar links are a real pain for the bottom bolt. The seay bar is too close to the frame and the bolts need some heavy force to break loose, which is super hard to get at. Some jobs are good and some are a real pain. Glad its only my cars. I don't think I could handle being a paid mechanic. Good luck.
This car is not meant to be steered without yoke steering and like normal cars. Its dangerous, because it can accelerate very very quickly and can cause massive spins if driver tried to over steer
Thats why we took that off and have installed original

Hi, I did this today on my V6 Colorado. Exactly the same method, but I havent finished it because I cant get the engine mount back in!!! It was tricky removing it, but I just cant get it back to sit against the block again!!!!! I got the new starter in & test started it, but this mount is doing my head in. Engine is still on the jack, the same position as when removed. The new starter is identical as the old one. Why???

@@FargQue I trimmed off one side of the engine mount with angle grinder. I got it in position & bolted up no probem. Theres just no room in those engine bays. In America they had an LS 5.3l option in the RC colorado. That must be a tight fit!

Thank you mate, quick tip to anyone carrying out this procedure; You’ll need a 15mm and 13mm socket (shallow) to remove terminals and starter bolts. You will need to remove the inner dust over within the passenger wheel well to gain access to the starter, and use zip ties to hold flexible piping away from starter while doing the job. Remember to ISOLATE YOUR BATTERY BEFORE STARTING!! good luck all 🔥❤️🙏🏼

Wood be blooming good if you showed how to get to the top nut and bolt no room. Can’t get beside starter motor with extensions, can’t get to bolt head cause of inner guard.

Just replaced my starter motor, no need to take engine mount out, can bring starter out through top.
OK Matt well I'd say taken the header pipes off to get it outa the top is in no way the quickest way you fool this bloke hear has got it right Thanks chief.top vid.

i actually got mine out of the side wheel arch without removing the engine mount , quite easily , definitely appreciate the video . done it today and was a pain in the butt but all done

Good fix. Got anything on Colt 1.3 won't start, just clicks rapidly?

@@gregansen544 OK. Put in a new one. It starts ok. But when turning on the key (not starting the car) several clicks are still heard. Then switch off and switch on gaian, gives the same clicking sounds. Any idea as to why? Could that be a relay, or is that normal? Thanks again for your help.
@@basba_qal I think that is normal as long as it starts fine
@@stephens4887 Thanks, it was a loose battery terminal. Tightened the HECK out of it and the continuous clicking was gone. Keep up the good work.
