I used to hang in Kenmore (worked at Store 24 and Au Bon Pain also). I got to know Butch. I'd do what I could for him, and hang with him. Had fun back in the day. But....there's something that sticks in my head all these years later (I know he's gone now, so I'm gonna say it)...another friend of mine from back in the Kenmore days was a Boston cop. We were talking about those times, and he told me that Mr. Madison was also a murder suspect. A onetime girlfriend of his was found in Jamaica Pond. It made me wonder.

My Grandma just recently passed and my cousins and I saw e/o for the first time in like 8 or 9 years. We were all reminiscing about the movies we used to watch when we all got together as kids and this is one of them. OMG I was like 3 or 4 years old when we used to watch this and I still remember it. My Grandma always had a select few of movies we used to watch at her house (some honorable mentions) The Road Killers, Breakdown, Highlander, The Craft, The Color Purple. I always saw Butch outside the Rat in the early 80s, sometimes he would stand on top of the big mailbox and do his thing. People would get annoyed or scared by him but they just couldn't wrap their head around him. I lost track of him for a long time until early-mid 2000s when he would sometimes come get something to eat in my little restaurant on Brighton ave a couple of blocks down from Haravard Ave. Sad that he died, he lived the life he chose and was a good soul.
