The IMF RAW National Fun Run Championships 2022 brought together over 100 runners from 20 different communities across Australia to meet on Yuwi Country in Mackay. In October 2019, The Indigenous Marathon Foundation travelled out to central Australia, to a remote community 3 hours west of Alice Springs, Yuendumu, to deliver 400 pairs of Asics shoes and a community colour run. The Indigenous Marathon Project (IMP) was established in 2009 by world marathon champion, Rob de Castella, and in 2010 four Indigenous Australians created history as the first to run in the world’s biggest marathon - the New York City Marathon. The 2019 Indigenous Marathon Project squad are halfway to their goal of running the TCS New York City Marathon! All 12 squad members successfully completed the Gold Coast Half Marathon on Sunday 7 July 2019. IMF also proudly had a number of Deadly Runners, IMP Graduates and corporate supporters complete the 10km, half marathon and marathon at the event.
