That's very interesting - sick ruck setup and as always thoroughly thought through! I picked up a total of three FILBE main rucks that need small(-ish) repairs and a total of three LC2 enhanced ALICE frames (with belts) together with a bunch of loose ALICE packs (can't pass 20€ deals on large and even medium packs - will probably slaughter one or two large ones to turn some mediums into my own MALICE variations). I'm still in the clinic so it's all for "when I'm back", and I already can't decide whether I want to sling the LC2 enh. frames under the DIY MALICE or under the FILBEs, or if I want to try out slinging the FILBEs on some MOLLE II frames (I ordered about a dozen to complete the loose packs I still have lying around, including two multicam ones I got a great deal on..). Then there's two shelter halves with the full kit (original ropes, tent pegs and poles), clothing and pouches galore - most of which I bought off my favorite surplus dealer's "rest pile". I'm looking forward to share a few videos on that and what's to come. Soon'ish™.. Regards, oz.

Those three day assault packs are lovely. I got a bunch and also have one with me in the clinic I'm staying at - I use it as my "general use" / "groceries" backpack and it's awesome. It came without the plastic shield though, TrenchKraft's comment makes me kinda enjoy that fact now.. however I read somewhere those plastic sheets were used as cutting boards/meal mats in the field. I also still have more than half a dozen large molle 2 packs to finish refurbishing and these can be slapped on top of the lid of those for a piggyback ride. You can also try to get a molle 2 bandoleer (for 6x M16/M4 mags) - those snap into the inside of the front pocket of these. Be careful though, there also are the medical i.v. bandoleers and I think they have different dimensions (fitting three 1l pet bottles I mean to remember they were bigger than the ammo bandoleers but have my medic ruck at home so I can't check right now). For any kind of cheap kit building and/or customization that triplet of surplus nesting dolls is very interesting though, imho. Regards, oz. PS: The belts inside the pocket nearest to your back are for jumping this bag by parachute, they fiddle through those ports you mentioned at the end and get slung into the harness. "Pousinboots" is the channel I got this from iirc, from a canadian fella doing great in-detail explanation of plenty of army kit out there.

Hello, Mr. Professional Modifier, I would like to ask you some questions about the shoulder straps and waist belt of the Alice Frame series system. I am only 171 cm tall, and the Alice back frame is quite suitable for a small person like me. Last year I bought a second-hand LBT 1749 ACU version. I like the ACU very much. I live in Taipei, Taiwan. There are many gray and gravel building materials in the city that go well with the ACU. After using lbt 1749, I found that my chest is not strong enough and my waist is not thick enough (30 waist), so there are always gaps in the shoulder straps, and the belt is not very tight (I am afraid of breaking the belt when it is old). If it is summer, If I wear a T-shirt, the shoulder straps will have gaps and cannot be tightened, and the belt has a similar problem. If it is winter, I can wear the m65 jacket for a few books and it will be perfect, but if I wear a T-shirt in the summer, it will be very troublesome. The price of tactical tailor's malice pack is not cheap for me, and many sellers do not ship to Taiwan. I have seen good-priced malice packs for a long time and missed the opportunity because they did not ship to Taiwan. Tactical Tailor's Alice Back System shoulder straps and belts come in a variety of styles. I wonder if you know whether the shoulder straps and belts made by Tactical Tailor are suitable for people like me who are not tall enough and whose waist is not thick enough. These products in Taiwan are very unpopular. There are very few people who understand and it is difficult to communicate. Recently I discovered lbt 2657, he and lbt1749 is very similar, but I think the design of its shoulder straps and waistband is different from lbt1749. I am very interested in it, but I don’t know if there will be the same problem as lbt1749 where the shoulder straps and waistband cannot be tightened for small people. I don’t know if you know about this. Can you give me some suggestions? Thank you for your help. I wish you happiness and health😺👍

@@a45456565 hello, unfortunately i do not have the suspension systems that you mentioned so i can't say whether or not they will fit you better. What suspension system are you currently using in the 1749b? The one that pairs up with this rucksack is the 2168e and it is super comfortable if you have the chance to come across it. Alternitavely i am also using MOLLE ii shoulder straps and hip belt, also another valid option. I used to have a Malice pack by Tactical Tailor and also their straps and hip belt are super comfortable, and i don't think the size/height of the wearer is an issue. I have found all the aforementioned suspension systems a valid option for the 1749b, i hope this helps

@@thatpackguy Thank you very much for your reply 😺 I'm not sure what model the shoulder straps and waist belt are, but they are the whole system of LBT 1749. My problem is that I don't have enough body fat or muscle mass, and the straps have been pulled to the tightest and still can't tighten the body, and there will be gaps and looseness. , if you put on the m65 jacket to increase the thickness of the body, it will be no problem. The shoulder strap design is very good, and it greatly improves the carrying experience. This problem also occurs with some Eberlestock backpacks. I have to wear a jacket to make the body one size larger. Thank you very much for your suggestion, I can safely look for the right malice acu pack😆

Phew, this reminds me how lucky I was to have gotten some decent deals on a total of 24 of the old alice laundry bags (google: "rubberized waterproof laundry bag"), the "rubber smells like vomit kind" - however only two have bad odor and I am sure it has to do with some off rubber mixture or chemical reaction. Wow, those setups both are really neat and it shows you put lots of thought into them. Have you considered throwing the 3-day assault packs on top as well / alternatively? I fell in love with the intended setup of those, also giving the opportunity of having a small day pack at hand if you haul that big setup to a camping / fishing trip or even when considering them a tool for shtf scenarios. I also really dig mag dump pouches since you can roll them up neatly and use them when needed - great for foraging mushrooms or collecting starter fire wood / sprigs for example. The same modularity you get with the 3-day assault packs is what the waist packs offer (I already saw one snuck into the setup on the right) - I ended up hoarding 25+ of those.. I really look forward to fiddle around with my gear again (still stationary in a clinic as of now).. Regards from Germany, oz.

Tip: get yourself 3 or 4 cynderblocks and a galvanized metal wash tub from Home Depot or Tractor Supply. Place the blocks up on end in a formation to accommodate the tub on top. Place a propane camp stove under the tub to keep the dye water warm. That's how I dye gear outdoors. Nitrile gloves are helpful to keep the dye from coloring your skin. Harbor Freight carries several choices of them. While I dye gear in the wash tub, I have also tried a method of wetting large canvas tarps and sprinkling dye powder or pouring liquid dye in random splotches to create photographic backdrops. I've had great outcomes doing that. I have not yet tried the splotching method on gear. I suppose that I'll have give it a try soon.

I add about a cup of white vinegar and a handful of salt to about 4 gal of water for my dying and it works great. I only use the brown or the green they offer to get what I need for my area. I like the darker brown because our woods are thick

Did you catch a glimpse of the "tactical combat casualty care" (TC3) bag yet? I managed to get one for a fair price and can only recommend it. It has straps that can be attached in half a dozen setups so you can wear it in sling bag and rucksack variations and has a great compartmented inside while also having a wire- "key fetcher" inside (originally meant for medical scissors). It's a piece of molle2-range medical kit, waterproof and makes a ton more sense than this setup. Pardon the criticism, but having a dozen removable bags each adding half their weight in connector weight alone to me doesn't seem practical for the mere benefit of being able to remove the one flashlight or knife that's inside and maybe slap it onto another bag. After a few weeks I bet you also forgot what's in which bag and the see-through mesh inside of the TC3 makes a ton more sense for this scenario. I'm still stuck in a clinic with limited time to check up on stuff, but having said TC3 here with me I had to share and leave some regards to you pal. Looking forward to the coming dye videos, speaking of which one just got released 16 minutes ago. :) Regards, oz.

@@ozzybwild hello Oz! I totally get your point but rather than the weight factor of adding those other pouches it's more of a cost issue for me, i.e. all these little components add up to a considerable sum, which is hardly worth it to be fair (I'll recognize that). But I really wanted a pouch in UCP as a brain on my rucksack, so as to match the camo. So far the cheaper options I had were simply too dark and/or didn't match the pack's new camo, so I opted for this option just because I so happened to have found a relatively good deal on all of them, had they been more expensive I would have scrapped the idea long ago. But I really wanted something that flowed seamlessly with the pack without creating a stark contrast with some blocky color. So what can I say, should I feel that its cost outweighs its purpose then I'll dismember it and keep only what I need.

@@ozzybwild by the way yes I remember doing a search for that combat casualty care pack, seems like a pretty weird design though, the shoulder I straps I got as a freebie from a purchase are really wide super thin and feel like there is card board or something on the inside. Don't need a frame. Just add a plastic stiffener to the back inside. Like the kind found in the assualt packs. They also sell abu sustainment pouches, which attach to the buckle at the top, the one you unlocked, and the cinch straps around the pack.. I have never seen one with a frame
