How is Western NC now? You guys have had in pretty rough over the past few months. Hope all your family and friends are safe. I hear the public really stepped up and got much needed support to those cut-off and in need. I also heard FEMA was caught up in so much bureaucracy that they essentially helped very little.

@@thestreetsof Thanks pal! We are 100 miles SW of the Asheville area that was quite literally wiped out. The original storm path had it coming directly over us, but the storm tracked further to the East. We basically had nothing here. Amazing that just a few miles made all the difference! There hasn't been many good things to say about America in the last few years. But as always here, when there's a crisis. Americans get together and help everyone out. The outpouring of manpower, goods, volunteers and money ahs been incredible to say the least. And yes FEMA (like all USA Gov these days) fell flat on it's face. Not to be political here, but if by some chance that babbling moron Kamala gets elected? Then the USA is done for. I'm not a fan of Trump but he gets it done is a patriot and cares deeply about this country. I know it's bad there as well man. What I can't figure out is who is pulling all these strings across the globe, and essentially destroying Western Civilization? Furthermore NO citizen was asked if they wanted any of this now did they? What assholes. But if some things don't change? there's gonna be a breaking point, and at least here? We ARE armed to the teeth! You be well mate and stay safe, and be prepared for whatever eventuality might be coming! if shit goes south here? I'm headed for Thailand lol.

@PeterGriswald you can not rely on the government when needed, which is sad. But as you say, the general public pulls through when shit hits the fan. I have to admit the irony is not lost on me that the election is being held on the 5th November. We def can't have more of the same, I am glad Trump has surrounded himself with a great team, which I can't say about kamala. One from the outside can only hope for the right outcome, I have no voice, but the outcome will affect what happens next globally and most likely will have considerable consequences for Europe. Fingers crossed 🤞

Name a place this is not true. It is not isolated to bournemouth. Comparatively, Bournemouth is the 31st largest town/city in the country and is the largest town in Dorset. Dorset ranks in the top 10 safest places to live in the UK. Globally, the UK sits in 34th/163 place according to the Global Peace Index.

Yes, it seems to have been forced closed rather than a voluntary closure. Maybe breach of license or failure to pay rent etc. It seems to change hands every 18 months or so.

The highstreet was quite quiet as it is market day on a Sunday, so a lot of the highstreet shops were closed. Most people were hanging out in the square or gardens/beach as it was a nice day. Main vids we use the gopro hero 12, creator edition, and just use the control handle. There is no gimbal on our setups as yet. Shorts are filmed either on a Samsung s23 ultra or s24 ultra. Amazing, I bet it has changed some since then. The cinemas are now closed and moved over to the BH centre near the square (used to be a carpark). I have just finished filming a beach to Coy Pond walk, hopefully will be out within a few weeks, such a pleasant and relaxing walk. @@thestreetsof Of course! Yes, it's changed a lot from my memory. I was there last year for the first time in 25 years and it is completely different. I spent many a night with my friends in our cars racing around Westover road too.

I believe so yes, although the whole stretch all the way down to Christchurch Harbour seems to be quite brown this year.

Bournemouth water company flow many sewerage outlets into this once amazing salmon river -now dead of slamon. They even dug up a spawning ground to save a crappy little caravan park from flooding. It didnt solve the issue and killed the smell of the spawning ground when they rerouted the river at Redhill Moordown

The salmon returned to the river Stour in 2011. This was due to improvements in water quality and the creation of gravel spawning beds by the environment agency. The RoyaltyFisher in Christchurch is a salmon and sea trout fishery that is open to the public. The river stour also includes pike, perch, barbel, bream, chub, dace, grayling, roach, rudd, and tench. Also home to otters, water boatmen, leeches, and various insect larvae. The degrading work you refer to happened in the 1970s. A lot has been done to rectify this since, by the environment agency. If this was not true, Salmon would not spawn in the river.
