@@Thies_Gruenewald Thank You Sir! Love from Pakistan.
nice work bro . keep it up
@@BLENDERIRON-MAN thank you 😊
Does this work with aces linear exr footage? Or log footage?
At the end it is a normal PBR Workflow so of course you can work in a different color Space. But log footage needs to be transfered into sRGB Color Space before that, so there is a loss of quality. From there you can of Composite your stuff in mari, nuke, Fusion or AE with an EXR Workflow 👌
@Thies_Gruenewald yes sure you can export the final render as an exr for compositing, but the fact that it has to be srgb to get the albedo means that a lot of color information gets lost in the process. That's a bummer
Absolutly 👍 but there are ways to get a little bit of lost Information/detail back, but st the Moment, this workflow will not hold up very well with a professional pipeline. But it’s fun anyway 😊
Well done! Thanks to the kid made something similar with your tutorial, I found your videos.
Thanks man! Which Kid? Im curious to see other results 😊
Why don't you used Blender's own keying solution? It seems to be fairly capable of keying such a nice greenscreen. Or maybe you have some tuts about using Blender native pipeline?
I Tend to think that I get cleaner results within After Effects, and I Oriented my workflow on Ian Hubert here 😅 But of course you Can key out Everything directly Inside of Blender. But you have to Go the extra mile with switchlight Anyway 😉
How were you able to create dynamic directional lighting on the actors face?
Like mentioned in the harbour example, there was a point light parented to the plane for better light Control. Sorry I missed out the point in the tunnel scene 🙋🏼♂️
@@Thies_Gruenewald this is awesome, I’m just now learning about switchlight
@ Yeah it is super powerful workflow. I hope that the quality of the normal maps will enhance over time. For me it changes the way I will Shot a Film in the Future 😊
Pretty sure they didn't have that style of concrete barrier for roads back in the 40's. Those are historically inaccurate.

It's Amazing! I have a question. When I turn on SwitchLight, it doesn't work as a program error. Is there a way? I send an e-mail to Beble, but there's no answer
@@dawn_film hmm that should be Not the case normally 🤔 But your system fullfill the requirements for the Studio Version and you have an Account, Right?
@@Thies_Gruenewald sure, I have account. It doesn't work only relight mode (other modes work great but only relighting is error)
@ hmm than I would advice you to reinstall the Software in the first place and wait a little bit longer for an answer from beeble! Good luck and sorry to hear that things didn’t work out yet 😐
@ thanks to answer! Have a good day!!!
Hi bro I have a mac device how can I use switchlight or alternatively this
The Switchlight Studio Version is for Mac Users too 😊 so you Can follow along with the same Workflow 👍
@@Thies_Gruenewald I couldn’t find it, but if it exists, could you please share the link?
Here is the download Page:www.beeble.ai/download But unfortunatly I was wrong with mac 😐
Crazy how using switchlight to make your talent pbr makes the virtual lights effects essentially on autopilot. Do you upload, a roto'd clip of the talent to switchlight or one with green screen included? Graded or ungraded? Love the vid. Thanks!
@@NickAcevedomusic Video into PBR Materials really Changes the Game 😊 no you have to key out your greenscreen footage (no heavy grade before) and export the clip as a PNG or tiff sequence with Alpha Channel to switchlight. Check out part one of this series where I will explain it in depth 😉
@@Thies_Gruenewald Amazing thanks will check it out now
What to do if we have an AMD GPU with 8 GB VRAM?
Not pretty sure about the systems requirements for switchlight. Have you tried to install the Software? You Can Check Part 2 of this series and Download a SL sample footage to see whether it will work in blender for you! Tell me about your experience then 😊🙏
What about taking your live action assets and plugging them into Depth Anything v2 to pull a depth map to help the lighting? CGMatter has a video called "this is my last depth rant" that goes into detail about it.
You will have a depth map within switchlight Output so no need for the extra addon. Than you Can use a displacement modifier in order to create depth with the provided map But the results are not very impressive and will not solve the Problem of a 2D plane in my opinion 🤷♂️
yes great job
Thank you very much 😊
WAO, ERES EL MEJOR.
Thanks for your Kind words 😊✌️
When are tou doing the compositing tutorials?
Dont worry there will be a Tutorial about it. But Compositing always comes at the very end 😊👍
my footage seems to come up purple.. any ideas why?
Skip through the timeline in Blender Until you see the result. This Happens when your Clip in After Effects was trimmed. I assume that your Clip is Not Starting at Frame 0
@@Thies_Gruenewald 100% correct! Thank you!

thank you❤
You are very welcome :)
Never try the free script to export cameras from Ae to Blender but I've wrote my own addon in Blender to export 3D datas into Ae and I remember going through some issues during the dev times because of how cameras works in Ae. The focal length is express as "zoom" in pixels in Ae where Blender uses others units than pixels. The datas needs to be processed by extra maths that takes account of Ae dpi to convert that "zoom" value into the correct FOV value in Blender. Can be a bit confusing but trust me when I say that it is nothing in comparison to making matrix transformations to make everything works in both of the software coordinates systems... 😅
Haha oh man what a Journey 😅😅and thats why the addon is a godsend 🤷♂️😊
YOOOooOO! I can't wait to try this out in my workflow.

Are you aware that DaVinci Resolve Studio can do everything you just did natively, as in, without using other applications? That’s the benefit of a node based system.
@@captureinsidethesound nah, davinci can do greenscreen Compositing and can help with the relight, But the Quality and consistency of the normal Maps are pretty Bad compared to SL ✌️😊
@ normal maps needs contrast, right? Otherwise, it doesn’t know what’s a flat surface and what’s not therefore it would need to guess? DaVinci Resolve uses a more realistic approach so it wouldn’t do well with how you did the lighting because it’s doesn’t have contrast data to work with to calculate depth.
@ Like I said the „quality“ of the maps are not as good as SL in my opinion! Thats a difference for me! If you bake normal Details from an object you can see a loss of quality depending on the baking process. Same thing here. And of course SL is doing more than just providing a normal map, it creates a complete PBR-Material for you in one Click. In preproduction for this Little short film I tested out Both workflows using the same footage and the result of SL was at least from my point of view better which does not mean, you Can or will do it completly different ✌️
Thank you so much :)))

how would you render this out? all as one big video including the back ground or as layers? meaning you'll render the subject and then the foreground + background?
@@Sceledrus there are multiple ways how you can render this. I tend to render out the background with fog without the footage, than the footage (with the background as a hold out), and than an overlay pass for the footage. So actually this is the prekeyed greenscreen footage but with the correct camera Movement and motion blur from blender. And once you set this layer in Compositing stage to „overlay“ you get alot of Information back due to the fact that the normal map washes out a little bit of pore detail etc. 😊 Do you understand what i mean? 🙈😅
@Thies_Gruenewald im kinda following 😅 but thank you for the quick reply i will try this method to the best of my ability!
