    It drives me insane that G&Ls are not more reviewed or praised. The electronics and wiring configuration alone are so far superior to other similar style guitars. This was LEOs final version. He said it himself that it was his greatest guitar. I have and love Fenders but these G&Ls need to be more widely available and known.

      To me it is. I picked up a legacy a couple of months ago. At some point I’m going to do a back to back and see how close I can get to a strat tone. I’ve seen other videos where they’ve done a better job with that then, I did. This was totally spur the moment and I put zero time trying to dial everything in perfectly. I really never expected anybody to see it. 🤣

    For a noise cancelling pickup no one ever has even to date played over distortion. Most play smooth blues or jazz and that demonstrates nothing relative to the noise cancelling pickups. Thanks for the much needed demo.

    Well I was expecting to see you show us the versatility of the guitar. Then you said that you weren't going to show us how versatile it is. Then you said you were going to show us the different high gain sounds. Unfortunately I don't think you know that much about the guitar you're playing. All you did was flip flop the mini toggle and show us what that sounds like and it was horrible. That guitar is phenomenal and has so many sonic possibilities and you barely showed anything. You have a 5 blade selector switch. That covers the standard pickup configurations. The mini toggle does all 3 pickups or the bridge and neck. So at a minimum you have 7 different pickup configurations. Youa can modify it to get a few more configurations pretty easily. Also the z-coil pickups are him cancelling. Basically this guitar is like a Swiss army knife. Like you said at the beginning of your video but didn't show us, this is a great guitar to have if you are trying to get the most possible tonal variations. Leo is a genius 👍👍🤘🤘

      Hi Patrick, the point of my video, which I probably didn’t convey very well, was how well this guitar works outside the box it has been painted in. The only videos I have seen cover the same things and I was just saying it can do more than that. It’s probably hard for you to believe by the production quality of the video, but I am not a you tuber, but just a guy that likes the Comanche and wanted to share that with people so it could get the recognition it deserves.

      @@thelastscarecrow6701 Most YT reviewers just play the same old blues licks and the pentatonic stuff. You DARED to go where no RUclipsr has gone before with a Comanche. And for that, we thank you. BTW I have owned an ASAT, Legacy and a Doheny and recently I picked up a used Comanche Tribute, so now I'm gonna try all of these settings you showed and more.

    It’s nice that you did this review. Described by a g&L tech, these are single coil humbuckers that aren’t noisy. Also a Normal humbucker when you strum the low string and the high they cancel each other out. These do not. In the video you left it on the bridge pick up the whole time other than switching the toggle to combine one other pick up… it would be nice to hear all the combinations. With the same notes played each time.

  • @papawx3
    @papawx3 2 года назад

    The problem is NOT your guitar, it is one of the best made. The reason your tone sucks is your amp. Save up, and trade that pile of $#!T off for a Fender 1965 reissue Deluxe Reverb, or even a used Carvin tube amp for a few hundred dollars. You will be amazed at how much better you sound. Peavey's are ok to learn on when your new and don't know any better, but once you get to be a decent player {like you}, you need better tools!

    • @thelastscarecrow6701
      @thelastscarecrow6701 2 года назад

      The point of the video was to point out how it does with higher gain settings. So yeah it doesn’t sound great with the lower gain settings. I do disagree with your opinion of the amp however. The 6505 (5150) is one of the most popular and most recorded metal amps of the past 25 years. At least we can agree on the guitar.

    • @harveycan5820
      @harveycan5820 Год назад

      The reverb/delay instantaneously at the start of the demo strangled the tone of the guitar. The amp maybe did not have to be a factor but it was recorded so poorly that it could have been any amp and would have hampered hearing the guitar. At the end, the system noise was ridiculous. I'm sure it's a great guitar for almost any use.

    If you roll back the volume and tone you can more closely approximate a strat tone. Also, Free-Way makes a switch that gives you the 7 switching choices of the G&L "expander" setup, but adds N+M, N+B, and M+B *in series*. The switch is available at Stew-Mac. I put one in my G&L ASAT Classic S (alnico) and it makes a huge difference.

    • @thelastscarecrow6701
      @thelastscarecrow6701 3 года назад

      Yeah, I didn’t try too hard dialing in the exact tone. Someone once said Fenders are for guys that like to keep all the knobs cranked and G&L’s are for players that are willing to search for different tones. I think there is some truth to that. I might have to get that switch. Thanks for telling me about it!

    • @mikeaustin4138
      @mikeaustin4138 2 года назад

      @@tigerjones2415 Yes to both. A humbucker is really just two single-coils in series. I liken it to the Clapton mid-boost on his signature Strat. I doesn't give you the volume boost that a true humbucker does, and of course you lose some of the high-end that single-coils have, but it is quite useful for solos. Check out the YT demos. HTH...
