“A Practice
Set aside some time by yourself this week to bring your shame into the light. Find a private place without distraction or noise. Ask God to meet you there. And then, share your shame with your Father. If you like to journal, write it out. If you’re a verbal processor, talk quietly with God. Whatever helps you express yourself to him, try that as an avenue to share your shame with the Lord. Then, ask Him to lead you toward a healthy next step. Should you share your story with someone safe and empathetic? Should you seek professional support or wise council? Ask the Spirit to lead you toward the freedom and nourishment you can find and being vulnerable.
