Chain link fence installation without concrete

Without digging or using concrete I am installing chain link fence using a post driver and using anchors for stabilization.
2001 VW Jetta Fuel Injector and Spark plug replacement
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 лет назад
Replaced the 4 fuel injectors on my 2001 Jetta with the 2.0 gas engine. Also needed to replace the spark plugs while working on the car. Followed this guide: www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Volkswagen_Jetta_MkIV/69-FUEL-Fuel_Injector_Replacement/69-FUEL-Fuel_Injector_Replacement.htm Fuel Injectors ordered on eBay for $89.99
Thank you this is an excellent video
Where did you connect red and green wire too
The red and green wire joined together. I used a blue “buss”? (Not sure of the name) connector. Everything is working over a year later
So where do you have the green and red wire connected to ?
Both wires were connected together with a blue buss connector and shoved up inside the frame.
Don’t quit your day job
Nope. 71k a year as a teacher with 4 weeks off during the school year and oh June July and August off, 185 day contract
Found it on Menards website. Now, please how far did you drive posts into ground before adding anchor, and did you use a post driver?
I put my posts in about 2 ft. Using a post driver did cause the top of the post to smash in somewhat. I took my grinder and smoothed them out to put the caps on that hold the top rail. They were 6 ft posts holding 48” fence. I recently moved and put up another fence with the same anchors and placed my posts every 10’ and the fence is straight 10 months later.
There are two sizes one for the line posts and one for the corner posts. 2-3/8" Galvanized Chain-Link Post Anchor at Menards 1-5/8" Galvanized Chain-Link Post Anchor at Menards
Just what I've been looking for - thanks! I'm in Oregon, please can you tell me what the part is called and maybe a product code? Perhaps I can contact Menards there in Ohio to get these. Thanks.
too bad video, dont show nothing, waste video
Wish u would of shown how to install the anchor
You only show the final product but not how you did it, not helpful at all
Wish you would have SHOWN what you did instead of just talked about it.
Thanks for watching I watched other videos on how to install this fence and filmed my own experience to show that you don’t need concrete. I have since moved and put up another fence without concrete with amazing results
Hope never rains in your yard or having strong wind, and please do not even think about privacy slats. Good luck.
Don’t need privacy slats out in the country as I am bordered by farmland. Heavy rains and high winds and the fence is straight and solid. The post sleeves really anchor the posts.
I cant seem to get those fuel injector-connectors off. What did you do to take them off? I dont want to damage them.
Still holding up good?
What size was the post
I don't know the exact size as tge fence was used. Two sizes were used to install, the typical "line" post and the larger "corner" posts. You can get both sizes of sleaves/anchors for each size post.
According to Menards posts would be 1 5/8 for the "line" posts and 2 3/8 for the Terminal/corner posts

Terrible mechanic and video.
First I am not a mechanic, just a College educated teacher with a farm country boy upbringing who is not afraid to work on my own vehicles to save money. I acknowledge it could have been a better video. Just thought it provided enough guidance to those who needed it.
Use a pipe cutter to cut your tops off once they mushroom.
Useless video so how the hell did you dig show us
I put in the description that I used a post driver (if you don't know what that is google it) and I did not dig holes. Had I known this project was so rare I would have done a better job of filming the entire process. Thanks for watching.
Smart man just did the same on mine it’s a waste of time to concrete every post for a backyard fence corner post maybe
Because of your video I am going to add to my fence I already have. Someone is giving me all the chain link and posts for free! I am so lucky! Thank you so much because I knew it could be done but needed your push and added idea.
Thanks, I was lucky to find used fence and posts without concrete on them and had I known this job was so rare I would have done a better video. 1.5 years later and the fence is as sturdy as when I installed it.
Cool man, I'm hitting menards tomorrow. Was planning on doing this because am just connecting my house and garage to a preexisting fence in 4 areas and don't want to mess with concrete.
hey brotha if you need help editing your content let me know!
I'mm with Jerry below You Never Showed how you ACtually Installed the them. Hello???
I probably should have gotten it on video. Once the posts were driven into the ground with my post driver, the anchors slide over the post and I took a sedge hammer and hit the wings of the anchor (alternating sides) till the anchor was in the ground. If I ever need to add an anchor to the post with my gate I'll be sure to get it on video. Thanks for watching.
@@ricksrandomrepairsandrevie9611 What? I see screw holes in those anchors. How did you fasten them to the post if the post was already driven in?
@@cristian240sx the anchors are an exact fit. They do not attach to the post and provide great support to any post. Going on 2 years with freezing and thawing in Ohio winters and the fence hasn’t moved.
How was u able to get the injectors out an k ow when it's in good
Wells Shane the injectors pull out of the fuel rail and the new ones pushed back in. The o rings are what old them in.
@@ricksrandomrepairsandrevie9611 OK just wondering I'm on a project with my '00 2.0 jetta changing out my injectors only video I could find ....
Video was helpful for me...thanks
I wish I had a holder for my phone for better video quality. I have only minimal mechanical experience with cars like oil changes and spark plugs and glad I took this project on.
@@ricksrandomrepairsandrevie9611 it help me out im new at owning a jetta only problem I got now is a mass air flow problem I change an checked all my hoses can't figure it out ....
Thanks for the video Rick, yours is the only one I could find that feature this type. I was thinking about using a combination of these and OZ post anchors because of the cost savings. I was wondering what state you live in and how these performed after one winter?
Steve Fud I live in Ohio, so lots of freezing and thawing and the fence is as straight and tight as when I installed it last July. I think a lot has to do with the clay soil around my property. I will try to get another video of it.
Need to learn that it's an intake manifold and not an exhaust manifold
Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I only have a Master's Degree in Education, not automotive repair and it was very successful.
Menards does not show the anchors you show in video with their fencing. What is it listed as in Menards?
www.menards.com/main/building-materials/fencing/chain-link-fencing/post-anchor/1715336/p-1444430935750-c-5742.htm www.menards.com/main/building-materials/fencing/chain-link-fencing/post-anchor-2-3-8/1715340/p-1444430935764-c-5742.htm There are two sizes, one for the corner posts and then the smaller posts
It's been a long time are you still looking? The part number at Menards is 171-5336 for the 1 5/8 and 171-5340 for the 2 3/8
How did you install the anchors to the post?
the anchor slides over the post after it is driven into the ground. Then I used a sledge to drive the anchor in flush to the ground.
What is your soil like? Are they easy to drive in?
Mostly clay and I used the sledgehammer shown in the video
20 minutes is a long video.
R Collins yeah I know. I trimmed it down from 32:00. I realize after I loaded it I could have cut out 5-6 more minutes. First video on a repair job.
