The llanope fly is lethal. It catches everything.
Looks like Paloma lake
Fookin epic crappie!
Not supposed to name locations bro
Great video! what trail was that? Ive started to explore the indian peaks
Great video mate! I love to cast that eagle claw featherlight rod!
Why you stop making videos? so pretty in that area :)
Are there any good creeks to fish over near Elgin TX? subbed
nice fish get any bass?
Lovely fly fishing day. Fiberglass rod and warm water, I can fish like that all day
Hi Texco, what rod and reel are you using? Thx, Roel
Great video! I’ve always wanted to fish onion
Dude this is dope!! I live in Dallas and want to get into this. I’ve only ever fly fished in NM so this would make good practice :)
What a beautiful day in the mountains. Beautiful cutts too!
Beautifully done! Remember, the older you get, the briefer your summers become. Savor every day you can.
Just getting into fly fishing here. Super fun style! Digging your vids man.
I enjoy that your videos include fishing, hiking, scenery and beautiful music. Keep making them!
I was admiring your net. Who makes this particular net? Great video!
I truly enjoy and appreciate your videos. I watch them with my 4 year old daughter before we go to bed. We enjoy how peaceful they are. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
Thank you so much! Im glad to hear y’all enjoy them! It means a lot to me!
Well done amigo ⚡
Thank you dudes!
Nice eagle claw 👌
It’s one of my favorites
@@Texcoflyfisher I've got 3 lol
Beautiful video! Thanks for taking us along into that majestic high country. Few fish can equal the beauty of those mountain cutthroat!
Thank you for watching! And yes I agree
Great intro
Awesome video, would you mind telling me what flies you used to catch those fish. Thanks man! Tight Lines from Pennsylvania!
I used a size 16 parachute foam beetle!
I’m in northwest Fort Worth, I think I might know where you’re at. I do a lot of solo urban fishing. Hit me up if you want
What rod/reel setup are you using?
In this video I was using a 4wt 7ft Glass rod from Eagleclaw
I haven't had luck with the white bass mainly because im lazy as hell and dont wanna wake up early, thats apparently when they crush... btw your legit puling some chunks out of this spot, awesome
I really really need a butter stick, seems perfect for the streams around town, I love brushy creek
You take me back man. I fished this 35 years ago. I wish I was there now.....wet and muddy and stinkin' like fish.
I used to fish Onion Creek back in the early 90's anywhere from the Old San Antonio Hwy up to William Cannon. Caught the biggest bass and perch of my life out of there. Good fishing.
Do you get your supplies from Amazon? Great video thanks.
You sure can! I use Avidmax
Do you access around dog park blue ?
I usually access from the park off the highway
@@Texcoflyfisher I fish this creek a lot, so much fun stuff in here. Sometimes I hook into huge bass, but usually im dodging blue gills, who are fun to catch in themselves. Ive also seen a spotted gar swimming around down by the 2nd crossing
David, I have fly fished for decades. Always on small mountain streams with steep gradients and for trout. We now live in Leander Tx. I watched your videos on fly fishing Onion Creek and a couple other locations. Would you please list the size of fly rod , leader and tippet you suggest I use. I will be fishing from banks. I find your videos very interesting and informative. Thanks
I use a few different rods but tend to favor the smaller wt rods. I use a 3wt 7’6ft for most trips to the creek. But I usually wade, I would go no shorter that 7’6ft rod so it’s easier to back cast if you are casting in areas with no casting room.
I used to live in Round Rock. I miss Brushy Creek. I also liked the Living Waters fly shop. It was just getting started, but the people there were quite nice.
I sure enjoy your videos. I've watched all of them from RMNP, and just found this one from IPW.......and glad I did. Your good attitude and personality shows through in all of your videos. Keep em coming......and thanks.
What a great day! Beautiful videography! Which lake was this and what fly? I’ll be there this summer.
what kind of line/rod set up you using for lake fishin?? great video friend!
Great presentation David, vid placement, articulated message, descriptions were excellent and well placed. easy to follow. your budget category ties are all perfect for our warmwater hill country quarry at any price. viewers should know that there's no compromise in quality of materials...all the better. no hill country fisher should be w/o these patterns.
i live fairly close to onion creek, but I'm having some trouble finding access spots close to road crossings with water. any ideas? might just be the drought but still thought id ask
Check out Rainbow Lake trail west of Walden, CO. No permit needed and it is a pretty easy hike. Lots of BIG Rainbow trout in the lake. Also there are 2 other lakes - Slide lake and upper slide lake near Mt. Zirkell. Rainbow lake is pretty big.
That’s pretty nice water for an urban area, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching!
underrated channel!
Thank you! I’m glad you think so!
Hello David! Amazing video... to short, I was waiting for more. All the best.
Hello! Thank you! I agree, I like the longer videos as well. Glad you enjoyed this one!
A great place to explore with a stunning nature's scenery! Just like a dream.
It really is! So much to see and explore
A lovely outing, indeed! Beautiful photography and editing - many thanks for sharing this!
Thank you sir! I always appreciate your comments!
Great video!
Thank you!
“Does not get old …” Great line, and how true! Love this video, but I especially appreciate that shot that commences at 3:24. That to me captures pretty much the essence of Rocky Mountain National Park. Many thanks for sharing these adventures!
Thank you! I am really glad you enjoyed that shot! It really is a beautiful place
Sweet my friend. Glad to see the fish are still healthy in there. Visited that lake in 1999; had to leave very soon after due to lightning. Nice trip!
Thank you! Very popular lake and hike for sure but I was presently surprised to see the fish were healthy and willing to take a dry fly. Also fished Woodland Lake earlier this month and they were rising constantly. Have you made it out that way this year?
@@Texcoflyfisher no sir, life been gettin in the way; I have been fishing quite a bit but no high lakes yet until the end of this month. Heading to the Collegiates and the Sangre de Cristos soon
Thank you for this series. A lot of good tips for those of us wanting to keep it simple and affordable.
Thank you Marc! Hope you have had some great fishing this summer
