Im so glad you’re here! I have found so much life and meaning in pursing my creative side after taking a long break after high school. My style and the things I enjoy painting have changed so much since then. I love exploring more expressive ways of painting and I am learning so much about myself through it! On this channel I will be sharing my creative process, real talk about being a stay-at-home mom and artist, and what it’s like running a small creative business. Thanks for being here!
A Very Big Sketch in ONLY 25 Minutes??
This is such a realistic type of video for me to film! It’s great practice, I can easily do it during nap time (with time to spare), and it was a lot of fun! I will definitely be doing more videos like this on my channel. Maybe next time I will only give myself 10 minutes?

Paint with Me! 🌼 Will I EVER finish this painting?? 🌼 “Hiking” in Columbus

I’m so excited to be starting my first video series! This winter, I want to remain intentional about spending time outside every week. It can be challenging for me to do that when the weather gets cold and I would rather stay inside where it’s warm and cozy. But seasonal depression is real and I want to stay vigilant! As a way to hold myself accountable to actually exploring a different park ev...

This blog happened over the course of about one month. I only recorded tiny snippets of what I typically do in a month’s time, but hopefully it gives you a little window into what this stage of life looks like right now. Moments not recorded: going to markets, packing orders, time spent with family, traveling, lots of house organization, and moments of rest. 🤩LAST CHANCE 🤩 ✨BLACK FRIDAY DEALS ✨...

I’m still learning balance. I think that’s something I’ll always be learning because life never stops happening. Seasons change and I have to adapt to those changes when they come. In this season, I am learning how to balance working from home as a small business owner, being a newbie on RUclips, and being the mom I hope to be. It’s a lot to balance, if you’re asking me! ✨BLACK FRIDAY DEALS - N...
Fill A Sketchbook Page With Me 🌼 Color and Relax 🌼 Exploring Color Theory

I really appreciate how sketchbooks have developed into a space for to me let go of big expectations and perfectionism! They used to be where I created finished pieces (like when I was in high school), but that quickly took away a place where it was okay to make mistakes and to grow myself as a creative person. The sketchbooks I work in now are safe places for me to try new styles and subjects....
FIRST TIME Making a Sketchbook Title Page - I can’t believe I’ve never done this before

I’ve seen other artists create title pages for their sketchbooks recently and I think the idea is really fun! I’ve never done it before so I had to give it a try with my new sketchbook. I’ll definitely be doing this in all my future sketchbooks from now on. 🌼 BUY AN ART BAG 🌼 and check out the rest of @MiraByler ‘s artwork! mirabyler.com/collections/special-releases 🌼 VISIT MY SHOP 🌼 (origina...
Paint With Me 🌼 Google Earth Street View 🌼 Relaxing

Come paint with me! This video is super chill and meant to provide a space to do just that. As I get the hang of filming myself creating, I imagine I will start to see some common themes with how I put videos together. This process is making me discover more characteristics and interests about myself that I didn’t know before. I’m honestly enjoying the proces more than what I thought I would. D...
Paint TWO Small Canvases with me - Balancing Life Pursuits - Google Earth Street View

I already feel like I am starting to get the hang of making videos, editing, and making art at the same time. So much of this is new to me and I am limited with how much time I can put into it every day, but I can say that I am enjoying the process! It feels exciting to be pursuing something so new and it’s a great way for me to practice sticking with something even when there’s lots of challen...
Paint With Me! Using Google Earth Street View to Find Landscape Reference Photos
Просмотров 443Месяц назад
The other night I spent a very long time exploring different parts of the world using the street view feature on Google Earth. I found some pretty cool reference photos to use for future paintings and sketches! I’ve already taken a bunch of screenshots of some of my favorite views and I’m excited to share them with you! I finally have a mic and a tripod to hold my camera! It’s amazing the diffe...
Paint With Me! Very Textured Surface Edition

Come paint with me while I paint over a painting I messed up a few weeks ago! Let’s fix it by painting something completely different on top! This video is not always filmed the best and the sound is poor, but I am determined to start making content while I wait for a mic and a tripod to come in the mail. I have so much to learn about making videos, but I am enjoying the process so far! Thanks ...
Starting a YouTube Channel as an Artist and a Stay-At-Home Mom
Просмотров 603Месяц назад
Well this is something that I never thought I would do! But here I am starting a RUclips channel to share aspects of my life as a self-taught artist and a stay at home mom. I have lots to learn about creating content that is enjoyable for you and that is genuine. On this channel, I hope to spend time painting, sketching, and about art together. I also hope to share what it’s like trying to own ...
I know you said your sketchbook didn't fit in the frame, but it looked like you were drawing directly on your desk until the end, lol I'm not sure I've ever seen that style before--just random (to my eye) colors to sketch. Fun! =)
I feel so inspired after watching this! Thank you!
@@CassiaDee oh I'm so glad!
Lovely to meet you.🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
That was fun 😁 you did fantastic ❤
Your videos are SO SO soothing to me. I love how you can make lines take shape in such a gentle and patient manner. ❤
Aww that is such an encouraging compliment! Thank you 😌
When you started it, I thought "what she's doing? Scribbling only? " However as you continued to add colors and more lines.. It eventually became something beautiful, I liked it and it was fun to watch, well done👏👏 maybe next time tho, sharpen your pencils before hand to be more ready! Maybe in future, you invest in an electric sharpener? 🙂 have a good day!
Haha an electric pencil sharpener would algor sure make things faster!
omg i love your style, please post more vids ❤
Greetings from London. I have watched your video. Beautiful. I love to sketch with you :)
Greetings! 😊
Love the ducks!
Very whimsical.
Utter whimsy!
Wow - soo cool!
Welcome to You Tube. Enjoyed. 😊
Absolutely love this. You did a great job with this house and yard. Good luck to you on ur new endeavor.
Aw love the painting. I am pregnant with my second child and I understand the struggle of trying to paint and record videos while looking after a young child. My first child is 11 now so it's easier when they go to school but I'm starting again like a maniac! I do plan to go walks with the baby and get references just like you did but also maybe plein air which is a bit ambitious with a child, fresh air is good for them though!
I would love to try and do plein air painting with/without my kiddo along 😊 Hopefully we can both get to a place where that is a realistic goal 😊😉
You are doing a great job! Love your paintings too!
Beautiful ❤
that really was so cool
That was so fun to watch! Thank you for giving me permission to go play with my art supplies and have some fun. Looking forward to seeing you make more of these types of art videos, felt like a de-stressing art class hang out at lunch.
@@shannonsartshop22 oh I'm glad you liked it! I really enjoyed doing it so there will definitely be more videos like this!
Loved the sketch. Just bought faber castell polychromos and tried them. Would also like to buy another set of color pencils. Can you suggest a brand? Thanks.
@@perinkermani1193 oh I've never tried those before. I personally prefer Prismacolor because they blend so easily and they are so smooth. The tips do have a tendency to break easily though, but I think that's just because they are so soft.
It looks so good at a large scale and what a fun idea.... definitely trying it in my large new royal talens 😍
Great inspiration, thank you!!!
Oh my goodness what a fun idea to use Google earth! I’m so terrible when it comes to technology being in my 50s, but I might just try that. Thank you, brilliant girl! Your drawing turned out great!
@@brightpurpleviking haha thanks! It is really fun! Sometimes I spend most of my time looking for reference photos just exploring different places haha
Well done. I love the pencil sketches. Your channel will grow very fast!
Thanks! I hope so! 😊
Great job on the sketch!
I'm currently painting 3 watercolor portraits for a commission of the same photo ... not stressful at all 😂🫠 I'm going to need to do something likes this when I'm done
Haha that does sound stressful!
I wish there was a version of that app that showed random people’s cool dishes and glassware and kitchen utensils, because that’s the sort of thing I like to draw at the moment. Kitchen and dining room still life, I guess. 😂 But I can never find really good references for that sort of thing.
Haha 😂 That would be cool! I can understand that being a tricky thing to find reference photos for. Maybe you could stage some dishes in a thrift store to take pictures of haha
What a cute sketch! Nice colors, as always.
Tracing a scene. And depth plus shading need a lot of work
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with tracing, especially if what you want to work on is style and color theory (both of which she’s good at) without getting bogged down by tedious and ultimately insignificant processes. Sketching freehand is not what makes art art.
For this series, my primary focus is on creating something (anything from a rough sketch to a detailed painting) based on my walks every week this winter. I hear your criticism, but I feel no need to change anything about my process 👍🏻
I love this sm❤
Cute!
❤
I'm in Ohio, too. I love your caterpillar.
Wow beautiful work 😍
❤lovely painting. And enjoyed joining you on the walk, thanks😊
Absolutely beautiful ✨️
Yay! I love this idea and I was cracking up at your series introduction. The editing made it even better. 😂 Midwest winters are so difficult and I hope you have a mild season and more sunshine. Thank you for sharing your creativity! 💛
Not even three minutes in and I’m loving this!!! I am here for this!!!!!!
Amy! This video has been most Refreshing to me! Family walks/hiking and Art! “Hiking and sketching and painting with Amy!” Anyway, I’m in Washington state and it gets very dreary here when housebound due to snow and rain- 🎉so… thank you for being here and sharing your thoughts and creative side! You are such a Blessing to so Many! Keeping you all in my prayers! Merry Christmas and Happy 2025 to come! I took a screen shot of your swans! For my sketchbook creative work- hope it’s okay with you? 😍they are so Beautiful! Claude Monet is one of my favorites and your work is very inspiring and breathtaking 😊
@@kelligrotle407 oh I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video! Please feel free to take screenshots of anything inspiring on my hikes!
Thank you so much, friend! ❤
You are clearly inspiring your little son to become a painter! So cute.
Love this video and your painting is gorgeous!
You are so patient to let your little one play with your supplies! Painting is how I relax after my kid goes to bed, so it's a kid free zone for me. 😄
Haha it usually is for me too!
Aww i love this idea. I really need to do the same with my kiddos… but im such a whimp with the cold! 😂 Loved the painting!
Oh the cold is such a challenge sometimes! I doubt you are a wimp 😊
You make it look so easy and instinctive, when you paint, and often I think ”okay, but why that colour?” and three minutes later I go ”Oooh, of course. Because otherwise it would just be wrong.” You are just SO talented (and hardworking, of course, I definitely understand that it takes a LOT of practice). I am so so so in love with the result, it mesmerizes me and makes me all flutteryhearted. ❤ Ps. Also, your swans are way better behaved than the ones I grew up around, they were nooot that calm around people…! 😮
Haha thank you! 🥰 These swans were really calm the whole time, now that I think about it. Just minding their own business haha
Beautiful painting! Your style is great, it’s there!
Im from wv. It's similar here, weather-wise. This is a great idea. You could also take a sketchbook with you
I have thought about taking a sketchbook along! However, with a toddler, a camera, and not many dry places to sit, I keep deciding against it 😅 I could get a mini one that is really easy to hold in my hands to sketch while walking 🤔
What a great video idea! I love the painting!
I used to live between Dayton and Cincinnati for nearly four years. You’re right! It was the grayest and sloppiest winter I’ve ever experienced. I remember saying FREEZE, ALREADY!!! 😂 Also…my acrylic painting experience changed completely when I started using a Masterson wet palette. The precise color I mixed stayed wet and useable for days! Gone was the drying palette irritation I felt. You probably have already tried one, but in case you haven’t 😊 Fun video, thanks! Such a pretty painting ❤
Sloppiest is the best word to describe winters in Ohio 😂 It's snowing this morning, but it's going to be in the 50's later this week 🥴 lol. I don't actually have a Masterson wet palette, but I've always been curious to try it out! Maybe I will now 😊
