Let's talk about: Chest Taping
A guide to taping your chest.
Many trans men, nonbinary folks, and gender nonconforming people of all genders tape their chests to reduce the visibility and prominence of chest tissue. This guide takes you through the steps to apply and remove tape, regardless of which type of tape you choose to use.

Let's talk about: Chest Binding

A guide to wearing (and removing!) chest binders. Many trans men, nonbinary folks, and gender nonconforming people of all genders use chest binders to reduce the visibility and prominence of chest tissue. It's incredibly important to wear binders safely, and part of that is being able to easily put them on, and take them off. For more info on binders: drive.google.com/file/d/1nnhi_5Jt8Tvrr_U-50...

Edmonton Pride: What went down? [Big Sky Vlog]
I feel sick to my stomach
@@laurahardman8929 quite a vague comment that you've left here. Care to expand on your stomach relates to my film?
Good thing that my skin is already normally puite dry
Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much! I was very nervous about how to do it and this was very informative!
What kind of tape
Hey! People use either KT tape or Trans Tape
Where we can got it fromoak
Is this actually safe? Like, as safe as using a tight sports bra for example?
Safer, actually! The fact that you have a static pressure on your chest from the tape instead of the constant pull from an overly tight sports bra or elastic sports bandage means that everything is held firmly but not pulled past the point that you initially pull it to. I'm not a tape or binder user myself, so my explanation is probably a bit lacking; I suggest doing a google search for "chest taping safe" to get more info :)
It’s safer than a binder and wearing one or two sports bras. No form of binding is super safe but the only down side of this is wearing it wrong or sensitive skin to where it blisters. And it reshapes the chest rather then pushing it down
What a thorough and thoughtful video!
Keep on rising, sisters.
Beautiful. Beautiful.
What a wonderful discovery, this channel. These stories. TY.
Why thank you! It's so wonderful to have you ❤️
Alone in my writing room I hear & I see the voices of women, travelling the river with them. Not understanding every word, but knowing deeply the joy & the pain of the telling. Thank you so much for this.
What an honour to have produced this film. With these women. My heart is full.
I just watched the premiere. Congratulations to all the poets. You were wonderful.

Ohh your cat is so adorable...stay safe my friend
What a good noodle! An ideal video for turbulent times.
Great, intimate performance :-)
You'll see my daughter spotted throughout the video. She's so excited to go back :)
I'm so glad to hear it! I can't wait for next year's camp either <3
Just remember you rock and there is no one else in the whole Universe that has the function or job that you were meant to do. Love and hugs to you brother!! I too have mental issues, I suffer from PTSD, depression, and anxiety and think I'm high functioning Autistic which goes undiagnosed with most girls.
Love you guys and love your story, very proud of all of you. Great for others to hear this!
Holy frig Ian, I am so proud of you and your whole family. You are all courageous and honest and amazing. I know it hasn't been easy but what a great story with the knowing that there can be light at the end of the struggle. I'm so thankful to be part of your extended family and am able to stand in the hope of the glow of your rainbow light.
"The glow of your rainbow light" - I'm going to steal this, as it's one of the best descriptions of Ian that I've ever heard <3
That's my brother and his truck. 💚 He's the most amazing person, and he's worked through so much to get where he is today. I don't think it's possible for me to be more proud of him.
I couldn't agree more! <3
Love you Morgan~!!!
What a gorgeous voice! Goosebumps.
Beautiful
GO MORGAN GO!

Now you didn't have a parade this year, and you are part of the problem by giving in to this group of crybabies. Tell them it's not a BLM parade. It's a pride parade. If you cater to them then you are an idiot, because once you give into demands, they want more. They also wanted $20,000. Tell them they aren't in any position to demand anything. You want to join fine. If not go home. By the way, being anti-cop isn't helping you. You are just turning cops against everyone in the pride parade now. Better hope nobody attacks you, because I doubt that the cops are going to care now.
Thanks for the amazing opportunity! You can find another of my poems here: ruclips.net/video/67IVdakZuXY/видео.html
Hello yes I have a question to ask: how are you so great. Thanks.
<3
Ahhhh, love it. So amazing Naomi!!!
You're making me miss the mountains! My go-to place for camping/hiking is Jasper :) A little stereotypical but I love that place.
Those protestors were radicals, make no mistake. None of those demands should have been accepted. All the goodwill that was between the LGBT community and local police and the military is gone. The narrative they insist on of oppression likely is not nearly as bad as they stated. I have heard these arguments before all over North America and is basically out of a play book from post modern neo-Marxists. They are pushing equality of outcome with regards to who sit sits on The Pride committee and that is always a bad thing as the people they want in power will not be good for Pride. Equality of opportunity would have insured the best people will run the Pride Festival. I suspect next year there will likely be further negative changes for 2019. The comments regarding TD’s corporate citizenship were concerning as well, so be it I hope TD pulls all funding next year and city council should have a very serious look at whether to host Pride at all.
Hello, thanks for stopping by! I'm unsure how much of your comment is directed at me and my commentary and how much is directed at the protest organizers. Taking a quick look at your page, I see in your recently liked videos the work of Jordan Peterson. How do you feel about his views on gender neutral pronouns, or on "enforced monogamy". I ask because I believe that the more context we have about those we're speaking to, the better equipped we are to converse with them in a manner that is productive.
Excellent explanation of the events. I was at the line and had asked why they were blocking the parade. I actually could not get a straight answer from those at the front line. You presented some really great points and perhaps because you have presented such a great argument for why there should not be a police presence in the Pride Parade perhaps you should work towards creating a bridge and open dialogue, which could lead to education of Police services here in Edmonton. I know two Trans Police officers, three trans folks that are a part of the military and several that work in emergency services. Help use the movement to educate, when we better understand the needs of the person next to us we can better provide the space and protection needed to make everyone safe
Vanessa Bartosek thanks so much for your kind words! I was also there at the front line, and can understand why it might have been difficult to get a simple answer - as people joined in and the crowd grew, it became many people who weren't actually involved in the crafting of the messaging. It also didn't help that the next float in the parade made a point of turning up the music multiple times to drown the protesters out. After my film screening on Wednesday (shameless plug: The Nook Cafe, 6-8pm), I'm hoping to follow this up with a video discussing some of the fall out and some potential next steps. I definitely have a goal of helping to build bridges, but I also wish to make sure that the discussion focuses people of colour, as they're the organizers of this whole thing. I'm discussing some possibilities with the protest organizers.
Thank you for sharing and clarifying what this was all about ...
The background and history of pride as protest has changed my stance. I now believe excluding police to be the right move. The abusive ex analogy is great for putting the police in context but also a sad analogy since an abusive ex is also someone you're never forgiving even if they clean up their act, and definitely you should never trust an abuser ever again.
Thanks so much for your comment! Personally, I've worked through some reeeeeally terrible experiences with abusive exes, to the point where we're amicable. That said, I wouldn't date them again either so...
If you want your abuser to stop you need to show them what your about. Having police at pride is the start. Its gets those officers that may not go on their own to show up and experience you people. Then from there they will apply the positive experience on the job. Your going in reverse. Segragation has never worked.
I believe the idea is to minimize harm to those who've already been abused first, and work on rehabilitation second. You're absolutely right that we need to keep working with police to keep the conversations going, but I don't think we should do so at the cost of retraumatizing our most vulnerable community members.
Thank you so much for this!! We just thought that the parade stopped because of rain or something.... I wish we’d known at the time about all that because that sounds like something we would have loved to be a part of! I agree full heartedly with the message of this video and I’m glad that some of us edmontonians are still fighting for better
I'm so glad that so many folks have found my commentary helpful. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for taking the time to explain what happened. Tracking down all the details has been a weird game of telephone.
Thanks! I literally ran home from the parade to try to get this out right away, because I had a feeling the conversations were going to be a mess.
Keep it up Kate!
