Thank you very much for the comments. We've done hours of testing various config's To replicate Davy's experiments for a film sponsered by NSF . We have foto copies of Davy's origfinal hand written notes leading up to his discoveries of Na, Pt, etc. have detailed foto's of most of his equipment replicate his equipment, batteries and experiments. experiments. I am also building a replica. I have lenses which are identical to Galileo's (the focal points, not the quality). The magnification is very interesting although the field of view is VERY small. It's like looking through a straw. You will definately need a sturdy tripod for this telescope. Soon I will have lenses made of soft glass with many tiny air bubbles, just like the original lenses. I can't wait to give them a try ! ;-)

Hello guys, did you measure the telescope's width or perimeter in the center and both ends? because i want to do a replica for myself, and i went to your home page and found information about the telescopes's lenght but not how wide or narrow this telescopes are. Thank you
