Stars For Children benefit concert broadcast locally in Dallas June 13, 1981. I left in the commercials as a time capsule. Wish I had the other openers. I remember the Roy Clark performance being awesome.

Rest in heaven joe
RIP Joe
Thank you for sharing this wonderful concert 🎵
They are soo great
Two greats!
❤❤❤❤❤Love them all❤❤
Love this whole thing! What microphone is Sturbin singing on?
He uses a regular mic, like the rest of the guys (probably just brought up higher). As I read, a fellow band member once said, Richard never used anything that would enhance his vocals. To quote: "He's the real thing". He has enough chest strength to pull it off. Quite impressive, I must say. Good for him !!! Be natural. Yeah.
@@MissDaisyDuke01 yeah… guess I should have been more clear with that question. Didn’t really mean specific mic to make him sound “bassy” but instead just meant for this concert in 1981. It looks like they are all using the same mic and I was wondering what it was. Didn’t recognize the design. Does not look like an SM58. Could be anEV or AKG🤷🏻
I LOVE The OAK RIDGE BOY'S!
I love the Oakridge Boy's as well . I've known them all of my life . I'm 63 years old now , All of them have been like my own family ! My father produced their music 🎶 since before I was born . So I have a special place in my heart for them . Please enjoy their great music ! ( HELP THESE CHILDREN )
I met Norm in the restroom that night right before he went on. Not a gay joke.
My new ringtone /,,/,
Those were some great times to have been alive! Hate it for those that missed these years!!!!!☝️🙄
So much great music in my youth!
Aren’t these his isolated vocal parts from I’M THE ONE ?
6:56 Great vocalists
❤. Thanks 🎼🎶🎸⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had privilege of working with Stars for Children Charity Concerts Dallas TX for 10 yrs-- created by the Oak Ridge Boys 1979 bringing star-studded performers together to raise awareness of child abuse & promote prevention. They're awesome even after 50 yrs on the road. Catch their Farewell Tour Schedule @OakRidgeBoys
ORB❤
Oaks came to London England around this time and sang on BBC Radio 2 and performed at Wembley stadium and "Where the soul never dies" went down a storm with the British Country fans!
That's good stuff that when music was music and that's when they playing my home town but we called it a city the big D Dallas Texas 😢I do miss that place but I would miss my family member more if I went back
One of my favorites. I sang in a quartet 15 years
I remember recording this on a cassette tape and also remember hearing my parents singing along to some of the songs. Wow little taken back right now
This was the hottest country group in the 70s. Even some pop radio stations were playing their stuff.
They have been singing since 1947.
Hopefully we’ll discover footage of lost shows, like foxy Colleen, and Artie antlers
oak ridge boys!
Brings back many memories and the best 👌
These songs have been a fan for long time and still a fan
This is another awesome song
Love the oak ridge boys and this song goes way back

Never have even NOTICED that before. Thanks for pointing it out. ❤

Love the Oaks!!
I haven't watched this clip in it's entirety before, great stuff!
I was at this concert. Oaks and Gatlin’s were both churning out big hits during this era. Elvira was fairly recent. It opened up a whole new world for ORB.
Meh. Elvira was written by a guy named Dallas Frazier in 1966.
Yeah I should have clarified my thought. Elvira was released as a single by the Oaks in March of 1981 and I believe hit # 1 in May or close to it so the crowds in June were primed. It was not a brand new song.
This is awesome!!! I’ve never heard Where The Soul Never Dies live from this time period. Thanks for the upload.
Live, real Country Music!
Sweet!
19:30 The apple but is one of his best
I find it interesting that he openly disliked Bill Hicks yet this is a long version of a bit Bill did..
It's awesome to see my childhood chuck e cheese location in the 80's.
This one’s the Tully road one right?
@@D.Haunts Yes, or also called the Fontaine location.
do you remenber going there and what was in there??@@s_1020v
Love you for posting this…. Thank you xxx 😘
It would have been so fun and rewarding if these 2 groups could have recorded some CDs together with the guys interchanging parts.
I adore how Richard cracks up during the encore of Elvira. Truly priceless. ty
BUT... after a re-watch, I find he recovered quite well. LOL 😉
I am loving this!!!THANKS!
Thanks for finding this
Priceless!!!❤️
