It says in the manual not to rest the hand on the gearstick. This is why gearboxes have a bad rep.

I think the 1.9 JTDM with 150hp is the most reliable one. Check the engine mounts for rust and also check for the last timing belt replacement. They must be replaced every 5 years i think
