Doobies!!! And Michael's voice is so sexy!!! Great to see them all so young. The band was so tight and rhythmic and had their own sound. So good!!!!
Love this show. My dad and I often quote from it.
Where the heck was I when this was going on?!?!?
Great job man
Thank you!
Did the original get taken down?
Aww, god damn it, man, the Doobie Brothers broke up. When did that happen?
John McFee the best...
👍
Thanks for watching.
WOW!!! My heart just breaks for this family and the other 3 families. I cannot get over the sheer number of cars in the procession! I was so glad that the left lane going the other way had stopped & stayed stopped the whole time. I sat here clutching my dad’s dog tags the whole time I watched. It’s still so hard to believe. Continuing prayers for everyone involved. 🙏😢😇😇😇😇
Still my favourite line in that movie 😂
Eddy was really the best of this show.
Hey Man, We are just checking up on you, hoping all is good.
Hey Guys, nice to hear from you. All is well in Indian Trail. Still playing music. I know you guys are too❤
Nice, just purchased a classic bass stack for the studio and thought of you. We are over here in Level Cross, if you ever get over this way we should get together for a jam. 😎
Hey, that's pretty cool man! I'm only like an hour and a half away. Need to plan something in not too distant future.
@@GTOstudios incidentally, the gentleman on piano introduced my parents to each other.
Dang- listen to Cornelius Bumpus!
Thank you for watching, TheDivayenta!
This scene has lived rent free in my head since I was a kid in the 80s.
"How long have you been down here?!" 🤣🤣
Too long , apparently
Jim worked with my husband, Chuck, at Grumman in the early 60's. He used to come out to Stony Brook to our house for dinner. After dinner, he'd play piano and Chuck would play his bass fiddle. Sometimes, while I was playing piano, he would write out the accompaniment for Chuck for a song they would play later. How could he do that while different music was playing???! He dated my sister at the time, before he relocated south. He really missed being down there. We visited him years later and he took us to The Cajun Queen on a night he was playing. We still stay in touch.
Thank you so much for sharing that story Alice. Jim introduced my parents to each other. My mom grew up with him and his sister was her best friend. Jim's niece shot the video at the CQ❤
This is the first Christmas we haven't heard from him. As long as he's well and still making music, we are happy for him. Thanks for your reply. I will have to write and tell him that we've ween this video.@@stephenadamsmusicalinterpr4203
Jim is doing very well. Thank you for chiming in.
❤😊😊😊😊
😊❤🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊❤
Thats a lovely dress mrs cleaver😊
Hey Steve, do you guys have anymore gig dates coming up? -Alex
I’ll Chris, the guitarist.
@@stephenadamsmusicalinterpr4203 Oh, you are not Stephen Adams?
@@GTOstudios yes that’s me. The guitar player is my friend Chris Fouts and the singer is Jessica Lucas. Together they are 45 RPM. They have a Facebook page. Last gig of 2023 is 12/22 at Raleigh Brewing Arboretum in Cary. Merry Christmas to you and Taylor.
@@stephenadamsmusicalinterpr4203 Oh ok I thought that was you playing out. Merry Christmas bud!
I remember we rented this on VHS and my dad cracked up real loud at this scene. I vaguely knew who the doobie brothers were but not their music at that time in my young life. Thanks for uploading
Thank you for watching!
One of my all time favourite Doobie Brothers songs. The pop sensibilities, deep pocket 😂combined with the vocal harmonies. Good times😎👍🤘🤙
By the way, this was a big laugh line in the theater. Even as a child, I was only vaguely aware of The Doobie Brothers and that in itself made it funny.
Smooth playing.. and she has a nice voice! 😉
I think the beaver needs a licking Mrs. Cleaver.
"I'm sure you are". She knows he's not. Her and Ward see right through him. He's so funny. June: Wasn't that nice of Eddie to show Dudley around? Ward: Yes, wasn't it? June: You say as if you mean just the opposite. Ward: I do, dear. LOL
Willie Weeks! Joe Walsh's bass player for many years.
Boz Scaggs too.
Nice! Love me a little blues jam!
Thanks for watching! I’m on the harmonica.
bit schmaltzy for me gimme first three albums
Thanks for watching. Vices and Stampede with the first three complete the classic Tom Johnston era.
Thanks for posting this😊
Thank you for watching, Holly Smith😎
Saw them live in Vegas last year. Way tighter group now. Thankfully Tom Johnston recovered. The band wasn't complete without him.
Thanks for the info , way cool
Thanks for watching.
Probably one of my favorite parts of the movie lol
Love TSO. This was the 3rd time we’ve seen them. Great view. We got floor seats the 1st time we went, but realized it was hard to see because of the flat surface and people being in front of you. Now we get stadium seats so we can see the entire show.
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas.
I was there!
It was amazing
@@Abigail_eq152 cool! Thanks for watching.
I was there for the 3 0'clock show ...the finale was their best yet ...absolutely amazing. Got a standing ovation, Christmas just isn't complete unless you go to a TSO show. Definitely worth the four hour drive from New Bern.
@@m.l.tankesly2665this vid was from the 3 show! Thanks for watching.
@M.L. Tankesly Wow long drive but DEFINITELY worth it and yeah I was there at 3 aswelll
Michael used to visit me when I was a kid. He was my aunt Joan's nephew. I recently ran into his brother. They look so alike. 🙏
Cool! I met Big Mike several times in the 2000’s before and after his bike wreck. This is from 2000 at a Doobie Brothers Fan Club convention in Los Gatos, CA.
@@stephenadamsmusicalinterpr4203 Thank you for sharing your experience. His brother Eric, recently gave up riding motorcycles.
I rarely watched the Tonight Show. Most of the time I would have been in bed by then. For whatever reason, my parents and I were watching that night. I remember One Step Closer like it was yesterday.
I was in my mid 20s when this aired and missed the episode although I watched Johnny Carson regularly. Thanks for sharing.
is lady is trying to remember name of the song ; } ?
As Time Goes By. Thanks for watching.
The funniest part of that was how he said shit.. shiiiiit... lmao
He said they want to stay together… they split shortly after this.
Fortunately, 1987 sparked a regroup. Pat Tom, and John have been going strong ever since. Thanks for watching.
For anyone who thinks lead guitar makes or break a band, just realize this band has 3 percussionists, 2 being full drum kits. Percussion makes or breaks every great band.
Never realised Cornelius Bumpus sang this. Damn.
Michael McDonald is a good vocalist and good musician prefer the old, rock sound of the Doobies with Tom Johnston.
Tom is THE Doobie Brother.
Best part of that was the brief interview with PS.
I concur. Johnny was a most gracious host for Pat and the band.
There are live bands and studio bands and this group mastered both.
That Eddie..he’s a real wise guy. Always giving Wally and beaver the business. He’s lucky Wally didn’t ever slug him one on account of the way he acts.
Eddie looking in the mirror shows at least he is not a vampire.
I liked it when he’d call Wally Gertrude.
We got several glimpses of Eddie's backstory on the show. It was noted that The Haskell's had more money than The Cleavers and that as an only child of a workaholic father he felt neglected. When he and Wally were littler Eddie was a jerk. As the show progressed he changed into being more obnoxious. As such Wally learned not to be led astray by him but instead tolerate Eddie's weaknesses.
Bravo 👏
