You fell into the creek? On your TRIKE?? U oK????????
I was walking on a flat rock years ago (several) and slipped and fell. Into the water. AsI went by that spot I remembered that day. I guess I needed to explain more . There will be another video about this later on explaining everything.
@@sherristrikesandtractors 🤣🤣 Flat rocks in creeks are like that... the little buggers! We are all happy you are OK
Yes! ❤ your comment re people back then had SENSE to stay out of harms way without OSHA guards and such 😂😂 ... I really liked the old bailers
they are really interesting to watch how people did things back then. I enjoy watching them because I grew up on a dairy farm. Brings back memories for me
@sherristrikesandtractors Then everybody in your family worked their .... off! 😁 Yet ... you grew up knowing what you wanted later in life! YOU appreciate nature- history- science ...and the absolute WONDER & FREEDOM of wide open space ✌ 73! Rex
Anyone with a pipe bender and welder with some bike parts can make one, but yeah you definitely most certainly know what you're talking about......😏🙃
My dad had one of those streetier Ds. Came From Kanas area. That is the true story. Also they wanted to start the new assembly of the Model R
It interesting how those Streeter D’s came to be there aren’t many left either. there are JD D’s but not a lot of those. I like learning about them and how some tractors came to be.
How COOL! Would love to have him make me a custom poker and grappling hook for my fireplace. At 5'7 I can never find a good one for me to use... too big... and too Chinese 😂 After that a short tripod for a new 440 ham antenna ... cool post
He’s a good blacksmith uses what he has on hand to make things. I wish I could have gone there more during show but had many other things going on.
@@sherristrikesandtractors U work 2 hard! 😁
Fall is so pretty but the high winds and freezing temperatures here in northern Canada make it hard to ride. Thanks for the vid.😀
we have had warm weather and very little rain we need rain It’s too bad you have such a short riding season it gets cold there so soon way before we do here. Thanks glad you like the video
Hitting embedded tree roots on a paved trail builds character 😊 ✌ 73!
Yes it does😀
Did you have a fender come off when you bike ride it
No never have in 91/2 years of riding it.
In my case the hesitation comes from: - Expensive - No stores with stock where I could try some and choose... at less than 2.5 hours from home. - No shipping available, and I have a compact car without a hitch/carrier.
I HAD A 64 BUG IN 1970 IT'S MY GIRLFRIEND'S CAR. HAD IT FOR YEARS. VERY COOL TO DRIVE AND GREAT GAS MILEAGE TOO.
VW Bugs were the first car I had seen with motor in back and that was when I was growing up . I think they are neat cars.

Thanks for the interesting video about the Z30.😀
Unlike most videos on RUclips yours are real. They are not professional. They are made by a real person doing real things and that’s fantastic. Camera looks awesome.
Thank you I like them to be real glad you like them👍
WOW!!
This video sure reminded me of how loud those old tractors were. I think that"s why all the old farmers like my Grandpa were deaf. Great video.
Yes a lot of them are deaf nobody used earplugs back then. we didn’t think about it. glad you liked the video 👍
Love the setup!
Thank you 👍
Thank you for this video…it was very useful and a good presentation…I don’t know yet which I have to buy between this one or Garmin 540, or Wahoo elemnt bolt…
Thank you
I really liked the fact that the cuda had before and during picures in the trunk. Very interesting.😀
Yes it was in bad shape before he restored it. There were two cuda cars alike right next to each . They were different years but alike in many ways.
I don't know how or why I am seeing this now, but that's the internet for you. I have been riding two wheel recumbents for over 40 years. I got a trike to try it. I still prefer two wheel recumbents. Trikes are sluggish compared to two wheeler recumbents. I think that is why many, perhaps most, have electric assist. I appreciate the stability of the trike on slick surfaces, but I live in a dry climate and don't ride in what little rain we get. Trikes are more complicated. If you have a recumbent specialist locally, or if you enjoy doing things like checking alignment yourself, that is not an issue. But if you don't, it can be. Horses for courses, and all that, but I think it is sad that the two wheelers have died off because I do think they are still the right tool for some jobs.
The reason two wheelers have died off is as people get older they can’t balance like they used to and there is a learning curve with two wheelers. And if they have had a bike wreck they don’t want to have to balance it scares them because they have to balance.
@@sherristrikesandtractors There is a leaning curve, and some are easier to ride than others. But it is not insurmountable. I appreciate the aging issues, but one would hope that some younger people would see the benefits of recumbents too. I guess not. :-(
You did not give one valid point as to why they’re more expensive everything you talked about every little part you talked about should only make that bike worth of maybe $200 more not 1500 up to $5000. You need to do your research and that just.
It’s MAP pricing by manufacturer that determines cost.

What an amazing path. Thanks for the vid.😀
It was old video from a camera similar to a Go Pro that my husband recorded. I at first thought it was me following him but it was the other way around.😀
The interesting thing is that a competent fabricator would build a trike but would not build a bicycle frame, my desire to try triking has also lead me to the home build route, on both cost and the non existent availability, the cost justification on components is spurious at best, numbers are your greatest reason, spreading design, tooling, and efficient manufacturing over larger numbers brings the unit cost way down, we need someone in China or India to start making them at affordable prices and for the reviewers to realise that you get what you pay for and take a realistic view instead of condemming them as "cheap crap", by being cheap they would open up the market to many people who would want to continue cycling but can't for a variety of reasons, come on India and China do what we know your great at and make them affordable.
I don't think there is a way to skip channels during scanning. You can set 3 different kinds of scanning but that's it on the radio. You'll have to put them to skip in the programming software and manually scroll through them when you're out and about. Please let me know if you ever find a way to do it! It would be a nice feature. Really is a nice little radio
Thank you it’s a nice radio And yes it has to be programmed to skip channels in the software. wish I could skip channels through keypad.
I just built my third one. I'm 6' 2" tall and weigh 225lb. This one cost me $450. It has 3X 26" wheels internal gears in the rear, cable disk brakes all around and a web seat. It's Tig welded aluminum and then powder coated. All in my garage. All done at retail prices. I wouldn't sell it for anything less than $1500 because of the time invested.
Very interesting video. Kinda like fishing, trying to get a good one.😀
Yeah it’s like that sometimes hard to get contacts when so many are talking to one person all at once.but still fun though 😄
Hummm..my wife and I both ride Hase Trigo trikes with e-assist. No throttle. The motors on them make no noise. The trikes themselves make normal trike noises. My previous trike (Catrike 559) had e-assist with throttle added. Throttle rarely used and it did not make noise. Wonder what that kid was riding,
I couldn’t see it very well but it was noisy for sure. I don’t know what company makes kids bikes with e- assist. I’m guessing they bought it on Amazon not sure though. I Might have to research it myself and see.
You guys are a RIOT😂 73!
Glad you are happy with your trike. BUT, everything you listed to justify the high cost adds up to only about $200 over the cost of a folding electric bicycle that retails under $800, AND, you didn't say a thing about an electric trike. Trikes are grossly overpriced.
I was talking about everything on my Trike, because people had asked me about it. Not to justify the cost of anything. That was why I did the video people had asked me about it and I decided to do a video about it so they could see my Trike and what I have on it. I can talk about electric trikes, but they are expensive. about any trike just about with a motor is gonna cost you with the price of the Trike and the motor about $4000- $5000 and if you want a cheap bike with electric motor that’s probably gonna be about thousand to $2000 and sometimes you can’t get parts for them if they-are purchased online. it’s hard to get service for them now if you buy them from a bike shop yes they will be more expensive but you have the warranty you’ll have a way to get parts.
I was enjoying your nice peaceful ride and that noise initially startled me, haha. That sure was a loud electric motor, I guess it's as good as a horn. Thanks for the vid.😀
It startled me also he came up behind me and I didn’t know he was there and yes that motor was loud.
It most likely is volume. And because they can charge more. Regular bikes also use specialized jigs to make specialized frames. Longer chain, cables more wheels is ridiculous. Double or triple them and you still can't reach a grand for a trike. Some of these cost 10 grand!
Yes some do cost as much as ten grand which is crazy! And bikes are easier produced than trikes. Bikes all have a Diamond frame and they are mass produced.
Visibility is two ways.
I take my new to me, ancient to everyone else , Terratrike Path recumbent on trails and Never in traffic. Changed it from 3 speed internal gear hub to 20 speed with 26-50 front chain rings . Riding next to traffic in my separated bike lane allows me to see very little of the driver if at all so no in traffic riding for me as I use my Bacchetta Giro A20 touring bent for everything else. The trike is good for a work out and very low speed stability and I bought it specifically for a mining road I have ridden 5 times or more before I got nerve damage in both hands and can no longer ride a diamond frame bike. No traffic off road and a comfortable ride , what more can you ask for?
Great video. I switched from a tadpole to a delta because I fractured my left femur and was no longer able to get back out of once I got in.
Sorry about fractured femur hope you are ok now glad you liked the video
@@sherristrikesandtractors Thank you! Happened on 21 June 2022. Healed now but still doing PT.
❤ the area U were riding! Mine similar ... Yeah! I will stick with my LOW go-kart like recumbent... Zoom! Zoom!! Fun! Fun!! 73! De K4RXX 😂
😂😂love that zoom zoom!
Good points all around. I wouldn't have an adult tricycle strictly due to the comfort. If you want something higher off the ground, go to a Delta recumbent trike, but I can't say they are any more stable. I'll stick with my tadpole, it hasn't bucked me off yet!
Delta trikes like the Hase and the Anura by Terra trike are better and more stable.
None of what you say qualifies a trike to cost upwards of $17,000. Most don’t cost this much, but the base price is typically around $4000 - $8000 and then you start adding on to that price.
Ice trikes start at around $9000 and up, but I know not everyone can afford a Ice trike also cost of materials has gone up as well and shipping is another reason. But typically most people buy the lower end price like a Terra Trike Maverick or Rambler wide. And still get a nice trike.
Thanks for showing such an interesting vid. So cool looking back in time.😀
cooL 🤩😁😁😄😆!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, there is not that great of a difference in material costs for Trikes to be so ridiculously expensive! Trikes are 2 to 3 times more expensive than a regular bike in most cases! I have built trikes from scratch before and had less than $300 in materials! So the reason they are more expensive is because of what manufacturers are charging for them and the fact that they are such a small percentage of the market!
Here in northwest Arkansas they’re a good percentage of trikes ridden by people who are mid 50’s and older. May not be a lot in the area you live in but with the growth around here and all the trails we have a lot of them here. I’m not familiar with every area.
I can't believe a 100 year old engine can still run. We sure can't say that about our cars haha. Thanks for the vid.
No we can’t say that about cars or anything else today 😃
Nice and interesting video! I think you need to mount something like a G90 and an antenna somewhere on it so you can go HF mobile. Happy pedaling and 73 de KK6IPR.
😂 I have had people tell me that I need one more thing on my trike. 😃 glad you enjoyed the video
Great advice. Thanks for the vid.😀
Thank you glad you liked the video.
Good advice on flats. I'm of the opinion that prevention is best, but you still have to be prepared to fix the occasional flat. A quick question. Doesn't your canopy cause an awful wind drag? I don't know that even extended it is very aerodynamic. Good video!
Not too bad of wind drag and they say in windy conditions not to use it but for normal riding it is ok.
Nice video, keep them coming. Apologies in advance, this gets long, but it’s my experience with riding a trike. I’m just starting my first full season riding a trike. I got my Catrike Dumont late summer last year. Because of age, old damage from my youth coming back to haunt me riding a diamond framed bike became too painful, I stopped riding for about 3 years. Then I discovered Trikes. I big factor for me not getting a trike, was cost. But I got a killer deal on a very gently used Catrike Dumont, one I couldn’t pass up, it was even my favorite color! What I’ve learned since getting the trike is all the reasons to not get one, are coming from people that haven’t ridden one. 😂 Here are my top myths I’ve become aware of since I started riding a trike. Trikes are not cool, they’re for old people. People that see me out on the road are always curious, drivers tend to smile and wave or give me a heads up nod when they see me. And kids always say it’s weird, but then they want to ride it. When I rode bikes more often than not they looked mildly annoyed or didn’t notice me. They’re hard on your back, um… no. It’s like sitting in a Lazyboy recliner, my back, hands, shoulder and feet do not hurt from riding the trike. My body did hurt from riding my regular bike, got so bad I’d hurt for days after a few miles of riding a regular bicycle. Cars/drivers can’t see you. Well that’s kind of true. Out on the highway, roads not in town, drivers give me way more room on the road than they ever did when I road a traditional bicycle, I still get out of the way drop over to the shoulder whenever possible as a courtesy whenever I see cars or trucks about to overtake me, but as a rule the drivers are very aware of me and give me the whole lane when passing. In town, that can be a different scenario. Because I’m so low to ground, the top of head is several inches below the tops of even car doors, SUVs and some trucks I just about fit under them, if there is string of cars coming, the ones behind the lead car probably can’t see me because I’m physically blocked from their line of vision by the lead vehicle. Even with the flag and lights, I ride defensively and assume I’m invisible when riding in town, but then even on a regular bicycle I’ve always assumed I’m invisible to drivers. As a result I try to avoid the busy main streets, it’s a matter of self preservation. Trikes are hard to get in and out of. Some more than others, I’ll admit, my Dumont was a pain to get out of when I first got it. I was also in bad shape. Now, I don’t think about. And every trike builder has assistive handles you can install if you need them. Some models as you said, also sit higher making them easier to get in and out of. Some Terratrikes sit as high as kitchen table chairs. It’s like cars, a sports car is harder to get in and out then say a truck or SUV. Peddling and having to have an E motor. Mine is not motorized. I am the only source of power. My trike is just as easy to pedal as any other bicycle, easier because of the crazy low gears. At present I cruise around 12 to 15 mph, I’m just getting back into shape, the last time I tried to ride one of my diamond framed bicycles I was cruising about the same speed with similar effort. The only draw back with a recumbent trike, is hills. You can’t get up out of the saddle to kicker down when climbing hills when on a trike, but with the wider gear range, it’s really not a problem. The E assist trikes are fun, they can extend your range and bump up your speed, but it’s not required. The biggest draw back I’ve found with a trike is storage and transporting one. They have a larger footprint, and weigh a bit more than some bicycles. Folding frame trikes like my Dumont make it easier to store and transport in car, in my case the back of my SUV, it is what is it is. But then most bicycles don’t fit in cars either and you can get car carries for trikes if you do a lot of traveling. But it’s not a good reason to not get a trike. I look at this way, what good is bicycle if you can’t or won’t use it. Since getting my trike I haven’t looked back, my only regret is it took me so long to get one.
Sounds like you really like your trike I’m glad you can ride . And yes assist bars help people get on and off a trike. Don’t worry about long comments it doesn’t bother me. Just heating you have fun on your trike is great!👍
Nicely set up , thanks for sharing.
Havin' fun on the air is what it's all about.
Yes it is 👍
This is my first attempt a RaDAR RAlly and this is what happened on April 6th, 2024
Just bought a Terratrike Path and had to drill out a couple of bolts that had seized over time. Now I am waiting for brass bushings to arrive so I can rebuild this into what I want . BTW it was a 3 speed and is now a 20 speed. The only problem that I am working on is the front boom has no braze ons to connect cable to the derailleur? Yes the boom with braze ons is available but why pour out more money for something I can finally fabricate? I am also putting a rear disc brake on it as I intend to use this on very steep mining roads and I want a nice drag brake to go down those hills ,Slow. As for traffic ,paved pathways , trails , forest service roads , I will not be out in traffic at all .
Sounds good 👍 good luck with your project
I ride a trike for comfort and ability to ride longer and further than I can on a bike. But I’ve also had physical issues so a trike is really my only option.
