Nirvana - Live in Berlin, The Loft, 10/11/1991
On November 20th, 1994, Oasis would play at the Loft in Berlin, but because that audio hasn't surfaced...
This is the first gig of the November European tour for Nirvana. They would play four dates back to back before traveling south to Austria then Italy. It's a little short compared to the other gigs in England, but the main core of the setlist is here from Drain You to Blew. No Sunbeam which is a shame because it's always been one of my favorite openers of any band.
Recording is great, but it runs long. Officially it's supposed to be around 56-57 minutes. This is still AUD#1 (and the only source for this show).
There are a couple of tidbits. There's an audio drop out during About A Girl...

Whoopsies. Well, this is the first gig of the new millennium where Liam loses his voice... Very early in the tour as well... Too early. Third gig of the tour and already having trouble isn't promising. This gig is only really famous for Liam losing his voice. Even from the get-go, you can tell Liam is slightly strained. You can sorta hear it during Supersonic. It get's bad during Some Might Say...

On August 11th, 1994, Oasis would play at the Wolfrun Hall in Wolverhampton. However, that gig has not surfaced, so back in time we go! This gig is nothing short of brilliant. Recording isn't great, but this setlist is amazing. A great setlist for the usual songs but the additions are quite compelling. Rape Me, Lounge Act and an extremely rare performance of All Apologies is played tonight. Eve...

Feels like ages since Oasis performed in Paris. Because it has been. Their last proper gig in Paris was November 7th, 1995. You can blame brother in-fighting and a trucker strike for the delays. This is the first of the mini-European tour before they begin a month-long USA tour in April. Three dates: Paris, Brussels, and Cologne. Paris first, Cologne WAS supposed to be second, but for unknown r...

10 Years Of Noise And Confusion! This is Oasis' first of two nights at The Barrowlands, but this is the most famous of all the 10 Years tour because this was professionally taped and broadcast minus a few songs. You'll be able to hear the famous gig and the missing songs via this great audience recording. Liam struggles throughout the gig as seen in the broadcast but overall he's not terrible. ...

On June 6th, 1994, Oasis would play at the Norwich Arts Centre in Norwich, but we don't have that audio circulating, so we'll need to stop and rewind the clocks. Nirvana's last performance of their week-long excursion in England has brought them to the Norwich Arts Centre. They've been given some extra time as the second undercard for Tad, Brain Drain 69 cancelled, giving Nirvana some time to d...
Nirvana - Live in Birmingham, Edward's No. 8, 29/10/1989

On June 1st, 1994, Oasis would play at Edward's 8 in Birmingham. However, only photos have surfaced, so we have to travel back in time to another iconic 90's (80's?) band. This show is very littered with tech problems, and that's usually the case for bands with bare minimum equipment. The mic stand that Kurt uses tonight keeps twisting around and around, causing vocal problems for Kurt. Krist e...

On April 12th, 1994, Oasis would play at the Duchess of York... However, since that gig has yet to surface, I guess we'll need to find another band to fill in that slot. Speaking of! Nirvana played the Duchess of York back in 1989. Similar setlist to the Riverside in Newcastle two days prior. Kurt's voice is pretty strained here since this is the third show in a row. Exactly 35 years ago, Nirvana traveled oversees with Tad for their first U.K. gig ever. We know that Oasis cut their setlist short due to someone punching Noel in the face, but how did Nirvana fair? During Love Buzz, someone nails Krist with a beer bottle in the head, who then takes his anger out on some poor rental amps. If you want to hear the full banter from Krist, you can skip to the "Down...

    I'll always contend that Madison Square Garden '05 was Liam's best singing of The Don't Believe the Truth Tour.... Although, as a #MadFerItAmerican, I reckon I'm probably biased, as much as I truly try & be objective as far as things like that go....😉 But the 2 f#¢king nights @ MetLife Stadium in NYC/East Rutherford, NJ are gonna be f#¢king mega, though! So will the one-off @ Soldier Field in Chicago! That place is LEGENDARY over here! It was named for & dedicated to The Allied Powers' dead after World War I, God rest 'em, those brave U.S, U.K, French, Canadian & Romanian troops.... Soldier Field is the oldest of (& last of the non-coporation-named🙄) currently-used stadiums in The National Football League, aka The NFL... And(!) considering it's the only one-nighter on The North American leg of Oasis Live '25, & Chicago's constant showing of love for Oasis, from the amazing & sold-out show @ The 1,000 capacity Cabaret Metro club on The Definitely Maybe Tour, (& absent The Rosemont Horizon gig Liam ditched in '96, when 'only' abt 13,000 fans attended...) to their coming back to The (legendary old) Rosemont Horizon, now the Allstate Arena, in '98, & selling out all 18,000ish seats for The Be Here Now Tour - & what was ultimately Oasis' classic lineup's largest-ever headlining Stateside gig.... What w/its being almost equivalent, & a shade larger actually, to a sold-out MSG in NYC - just for a reference point... And then they ended up playing the 10,000-seat Credit Union 1 Arena during The DBTT Tour, & playing to a sold-out crowd @ The Allstate Arena, formerly The Rosemont Horizon, just to reiterate, in '08 during the Dig Out Yer Soul Tour! Yeah... Chi-town's ALWAYS had love for Oasis!💯 But Oasis, at least IMO anyway, should've also booked T-Mobile Park stadium in Seattle, Shell Energy Stadium in Houston (which almost DEFINITELY would've needed a 2nd night, considering its capacity for concerts is 'only' 30,000ish fans, AND that it's in our 4th-largest city!), Nationals Stadium in Washington D.C. & Arrowhead Stadium - home of the 4-time & reigning NFL Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs - in Kansas City, Missouri... I think it too, like Chicago, could've ended up being a one-off, but also could've needed another night, given its incredibly 'centralized' place in The United States. But I digress.... Oasis could've booked 4 more stadium venues over here in The United States, sold them out, AND PROBABLY WOULD'VE NEEDED SECOND NIGHTS for some, if not all(!), of the venues I just ticked off, thus guaranteeing, AT THE VERY, VERY LEAST, a double-digit number of United States stadium gigs... Why they didn't do so.... I'll never know!🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🇺🇸🇬🇧🎶🎶🎶🎸🥁🎙️

    Oasis where real dudes...totally honest. Totally on point, if he reached for sucess then he should embrace it..if not then quit or lend the money, quit the mtv promotion etc (like at least mudhoney did so) but he thrived for the praise and money but at the same time not, so what is it kurt? THAT SAID he was in HORRIBLE pain with his stomach problems and the ONLY solution was to use all that bad stuff.

    This sounds stupid, but it's weird to think of Nirvana as an 80s band! Their music was so influential to the 90s (Nevermind was 1991) it's crazy that they were playing more famous songs like Polly and About A Girl in the 80s!

    • @bootitup6927
      @bootitup6927 16 дней назад

      Not stupid at all and I totally understand where you're coming from! We tend to see Nirvana and lot of the other Seattle artists as 90's bands when majority of them got their start in the mid to late 80's! A lot of shows they did around from '92-'94, when playing the older songs like About A Girl, School and Blew, Kurt would always include that this is off their first record and they should buy it. Most casual fans assumed Nevermind was their first release.
