A little background about Railfan DK!
I have always enjoyed trains since I was little, back in 2007 when I fell in love with trains, now 17 years later, here we are shooting trains across the Midwest! I like meeting new people who enjoy the same hobby as me. I hope to make an impact on anyone I meet trackside either that being a resource, a friend, or whatever life brings!

Wild Day of Railfanning in the 989 of Michigan! Ft. LSRC Derailment + More! 10/14/24
I elected to use a day of my fall break to be productive in recording some trains for y'all. I decided I would head up to Saginaw with the intent of getting HESR 3866 leading something and getting fall color shots. I was joined by @Damon810Railfan and we had a very fun and interesting day that ended up hearing LSRC Z491 calling dispatch and saying "On the ground at Zilwaukee" while shooting HESR 800 with HESR 3866 on point.

After heading home early for the weekend, I was joined by @k.c.productions to shoot CSAO's Trenton 3 in Wyandotte on Friday morning. We ended up shooting NS 10N and CPKC 528 as well! Feel free to like and subscribe!

Railfanning the CSX Garrett Sub in Garrett, IN 9/22/24

After returning to campus from the weekend, I caught word that CSX B157-22 was going to make Garrett in daylight for once. Rain or shine I took the opportunity to shoot CSX 1850 "L&N HU" while it is on the B157/B158 loop. This is the 7th CSX HU I have managed to shoot. Feel free to like and subscribe!

After receiving a message from my NS buddy out of Fort Wayne he was bringing NS 29F to FW with NS 1070 "Wabash HU" as his leader. I set out to South Whitley, IN to shoot him for no reason, but to more or less document his first run with NS 1070 as his leader. Even though it was dark, he knew I was going to flash him, which I did to get him the best possible shot.

After finishing classes for the day and learning about CN Q11691-05 with IC 1038 leading, I hurried my way back to Detroit to shoot Q116 at YD in River Rouge before heading to Plymouth to do a small chase of CSX M267-04 with CSX 1776 "Spirit of Armed Forces" leading the way.

After getting out of class for the day, I decided to venture up to Fort Wayne where I was met by a late departing CF&E FWLI. I hurried over to a small crossing just outside of town to get them before deciding to chase them to Monroeville, IN just west of the IN/OH border.

After moving into college for the fall, I planned my Saturday around two things: NS 255 & NS 256. The NS 255 had that C44-9W, which was very fitting for the era the roadrailers mostly ran in. The last NS 256 was very special with that having NS 8100 "Nickel Plate Road HU" leading the final run to Detroit. With summer winding down and college rapidly approaching, I took advantage of one of my last off days from work. I caught word of M810 (curfew M510) with CSX 1869 "C&O HU" solo on the head end. So I chased them from New Boston to Redford. I was joined by @313Railfan for the chase.

A trip up to the thumb to chase HESR has been on my bucket list for years. I finally had the time to squeeze a quick trip with @Damon810Railfan to Bad Axe to start a chase of HESR 825 (Bad Axe to Sebewaing). After hearing NS 359 was going to have NS 8105 "Interstate HU" leading I decided to venture out to Delray Jct. where I met up with @Eastmichiganfilms, @hornalleyproductions, & @313Railfan and saw a good rush of traffic! Sorry the 359 video was just one car after 8105, had to get the main shot I wanted at Ecorse Jct. Feel free to like and subscribe!

After work on Friday 7/19, I caught word from a friend that CSX was sending up a loaded rail train with a solo SD40-2. So, I decided to chase it from Romulus to Plymouth and snagged L302-19 in the process. It’s a SD70MAC not a SD70-M2
They're SD70M's similar to SD70MAC's BUT the LSRC ones are ex UP which have DC traction. Don't know where U got SD70M-2 from as well...

The kid… last time I had an incedemt with a kid talking in my shot it was when there was an CN ace leader blue whale trailing and a citi rail mid dpu and he screamed GTW even tho it wasn’t…
The horn in the background makes it so much better

was a curfew, it varies, this one was Walbridge to Detroit.

Caught some good ones out there for sure... Train 1 had some killer ConRail and Norfolk & Western boxes on there. Train 2 with open coil cars and the awesome CPKC manifest with a Grey Ghost included... Great video bro.!!

Saginaw is fun if U know what ur doing. getting Z145 with the MP15AC when I did was pure luck, usually return around early morning like 5AM not 11:30am...

How much action this sub gets? I’m might go here some day on the weekend or something
It gets 4 turn jobs a day, L575 can be the only one that just doesn’t run. You need to get to the line at 7am. You’ll get L572 NBD, L571, L575 SBD. L572 works oakwood, L575 will return before 571, R986 goes OD at like 5pm then runs south and runs back usually in dark
