How does one give something they do not have? Salvation is free. The gospel is not to get money into people's hands or increase their wealth, that is the modern day false church's false gospel.

@@bigvalleybiblebaptistchurch I think you missed the point. The fact that you're claiming to put money on the line but actually being disingenuous shows what your actual values are. If you really valued the gospel more you wouldn't be worried about losing money to someone choosing the money, a material thing. It makes it seem like you value money too much to actually risk losing it while trying to spread the gospel. If someone did pick the money and found out it was fake do you think that's going to leave a good impression with them? Better to have the opportunity to be honest, give them the money as a way to open a deeper dialogue, ask them why they chose the money, talk, and then give them the gospel anyways. People don't like being lied to.

Nobody is claiming to put money "on the line", you are looking too deep into something, is it because you are in fact in need of money? I will use real money if you supply it, let your actions speak for you and do your part. You are reading too far into something on an emotional level with possible outcomes that dont exist.

Money is to pay the ministry and the building upkeep and property, its only bad to have money when its the primary desire of your life.

1 Corinthians 9:14 - "Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel." A full time ministry vocational pastor should be paid a living wage, and not to get rich (fleecing the flock), as they do not have the time to have a secular job. There are some pastors who must work an additional job because the congregation is so small they cannot subsist from the church's collection. The rich preacher is uncommon and unbiblical.

A good church will help its own members in time of need as it is supposed to be a family, not all churches have the monetary power or man power depending on the age of the congregation to help in all aspects of the community. Large churches with hundreds (or even thousands) of members have that role to impact the local town.

The bible never said to give money to receive forgiveness or anything else, salvation is free. The building and property has property tax by the state so it must be paid somehow. The bible is clear the ministry needs to be paid and fed to subsist. Collection of money for the temples in the Old Testament is throughout the scripture, and so was collecting money to build and support the property in the New Testament as well, the building needs builders and has tax rendered, someone must pay it. You dont have to give any money to any church, they arent money making factories looking to get rich. Rich people in the ministry is unbiblical.
