Is the ground floor locked off? It’s just that I see that notice about having to go down to the basement and go up the travellator to the shop (which I assume is the ground floor)
The ground floor is the staff entrance to the shop and the meeting room. I didn’t check if it’s locked off but it probably isn’t seeing as you can access it from the stairs.

its in an office building
It could be named after a holy building called an Abbey, like Westminster Abbey which is a church. There must be or was an abandoned Abbey nearby, hence the name.
The full name is Abbey house offices, the actual abbey house was an old BnB on the original site that got demolished

Great video. I really wanted to ride these lifts when I was here on an Open Day at UL back in 2017 (I went with the school when I was in 5th year) but unfortunately I didn't get a chance. I was in a lift in one of the other buildings (the one with Subway on the 1st floor). I have no idea what make it was but it was a nice old lift.
