I’ve been carrying a 1911 for a good while now, the grip safety has never been an issue but it has a big benefit, if you’re carrying plain clothes and your carrying iwb or aiwb you can apply upwards pressure on the beaver tail and it can’t fire even if it snags on clothing. There’s no downside but it’s a pretty big upside.

The statement concerning firearms in national parks is a common misconception. Since 2010 lawful concealed carriers are permitted in most national parks. Double check before traveling. When traveling in Yellowstone & Glacier in recent years, it was not uncommon to see people open carry.

Why go camping without a gun is more of a question. I wach a lot of solo camping videos and most are spooky. And hardly none of these campers are armed with only a knife. I get the British can't get them but in America you would be a fool to go solo camping without a firearm.

I'm glad to be in the UK where it's not necessary to carry a gun when camping. We only take them when we're hunting or doing pest control on our own property. Sadly we killed all our bears around 1000 years ago, and our last wolf was shot in 1680.

"Hard to beat a Glock." No. 🤣 No, actually it isn't. S&W, SIG, Walther and many other companies make superior pistols these days, not to mention some amazing offerings from companies like Wilson Combat, etc. It's like sayig "It's hard to beat a Honda Civic." 😜

I saw a video of a man camping remotely, and some guy came up to his site while he was cooking dinner, in the middle of nowhere. He shared his meal and the guy left. The camper didn't feel right so got out of dodge. went back the next morning and his site was ravashed. He thinks a group targeted him and was planning to rob him or worse. After seeing that video I decided I'll never go camping unarmed again. Let alone dangerous wildlife risk, where I live there are bears, wild cats, and coyotes.

Ive been looking up the laws on carrying in Maryland state parks and apparently its illegal to do so. Does anyone have any experience with this? There seems to be a lot of conflicting info. Like what if i just have it in my car and transport it to my tent while camping ? Seems like a dumb law especially if you have your CCW license.

I recently started using a similar placard on my trex arms ac1 and also the cummerbund over the placards. A additional bonus this way is that the placard is way more secured and your sling is less likely to snag under the bottom corner of your placard. Only difference I have, is that I use kydex insers on my mags and the 2nd layer is empty. So I have the dead space you mentioned, but its easy to reinsert my mags. I also cover the cummerbund with the velcro flap of the 2nd layer pouch thingy.

Bro my choice is a 7.5" barrel 300 blackout sub sonic rounds with a good "can" to be quiet 🤫🤫 and not draw more attention and more risk of loss of life... Then a leaf shaped long blade like a Kershaw camp 12-18 thick enough to chop & process wood as well as light enough to be attached all day long and light enough 2 use as self defense weapon that won't ever wear out on you... Or run out of rounds to shoot... Also a side arm pistol of 9-10mm attached to your vest so not in the way and easier to access quickly as well as long blade can be on side handle facing up blade forward so U can quickly grab blade in reverse grip for quick counter attack... Regardless of how things were to end zombies/ or just going back to medieval type of times... The trick is to maneuver quickly quietly & with as little effort (less calorie expenditure to maximize success of survival) the thing they get wrong in movies, TV, ECT is your not going to be moving long distances with everything you need 2 bring with you it will be short 2 moderate distances until you can find somewhere safe to bunker down away from others and hide your stuff so your not carrying everything with you Everytime you leave to get food and resources...
