      Yeah there was no police presence or anything like that, they’re gonna be scoping it out soon for the reconstruction so I’m sure it won’t be as open in the coming months

    What emergency radio or epirb do you carry? This time of year I’m concerned about cold water rescue should I roll. Even with drysuit it’s be dangerous right?

    • @mattklinck
      @mattklinck 10 дней назад

      Yeah its definitely still more dangerous during this time of year. I keep my iphone on me in a water proof bag either around my neck or in a sleeve pocket in the dry suit, the iphone 14 and up have a GPS rescue safety feature that basically works like a beacon. so you press the power button and top volume button and it will give you an SOS option and that sends your GPS coordinates via satellite etc. I should have some flares though because thats one thing I'm missing right now. But having a paddle float with my and practicing reentries in the warmer season I'm reasonably confident I can get back in my boat

    You mention how quiet it was when you arrived. I was in town back in October. I pulled over at the turnaround on the Dundalk side (as seen around the 16 minute mark). I got out of the car and was really taken aback by how eerily quiet it was. It really made me sad in a way, having grown up near Sparrows Point and traveled that bridge too many times to count. Great video.

    I've listened to your thoughts about a Greenland Paddle and there's still a lot of research ahead of you. Dancing with the Sea and Andrew Elizaga (especially the old documentary video with young Maligaq Padilla) channels are your best friends for developing a good canted blade technique. Good luck and have fun. 👍
