When Bowie Went To Warrington
As the England men's football team was preparing to win the only world cup they've ever won, David Bowie had more important things to worry about as he prepared to gig at the Lion Hotel in Warrington.

Penny Lane - Teddy Boy - Dovedale Towers

Penny Lane is world famous because of the Beatles song. Here, I explore the Penny Lane area, including Dovedale Road where Lennon and Harrison attended primary school. Additionally, I visit Dovedale Towers - half way along Penny Lane - to have a coffee in the place Freddie Mercury lived for a short period of time in 1969. INTRODUCING: Gareth Heesom & Sam Lyon

With the weather taking a toll on my health, I thought I'd stay home for this Musical Steps video and do some remixes of songs from 'unknown' artists. Here, I introduce Gareth Heesom with a remixed version of his song 'Ever see' that features singer songwriter Sam Lyon on harmony vocals. This third of three episodes focuses on John Lennon's childhood and the tragic sadness he felt throughout his life. Here, we investigate factors that understandably contributed to his spiky personality. Insta360 Camera www.insta360.com/sal/x3?insrc=INR3UQQ

Where did Lennon REALLY first meet McCartney?
Просмотров 4272 года назад
The accepted location of John Lennon and Paul McCartney's first meeting is at the Woolton Fete in July 1957. But did they really first meet before then? Here, we look at where this could have been. Insta360 Camera www.insta360.com/sal/x3?insrc=INR3UQQ

What's this nonsense, thought Ian maybe busking or down and out begging in a shop doorway. Or causing trouble in the spread eagle, shouting, do you know who I am ? To a bored audience. Or in the local Greg's still drunk but serving people no non of them he doing country lines on a ebike n balaclava
História fantástica!
The detail in this great video is spot on....however you never mentioned that Nigel Walley the unofficial "manager" of the Quarrymen also lived there as well.
A bit of an abrupt ending! Was (I’m not your) Steppin’ Stone one of the hidden titles?
Very well done, thank you for sharing.
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for the magical tour! I visited Penny Lane and area in Sept of 22. It was one of the best trips ever for me! You have brought those feelings back to life!😊
Great video. Thanks for that - Really enjoyed it !
looks great! In todays world these are awesome, i wish we had these when i started getting into tracks!
I think Black Jacks came after the Motowns, who initially included other ex-Denny Seyton, Tony Crowley and Robbie Scott
@@MusicalNotesAndSteps I've just been in touch with one of the Black Jacks musicians, they first met with Lally Stott in 1970! And at the beginning they were all Italian musicians, where the Motowns were from UK ;)
I've received other replies, fter a while they changed a few names and on the album and singles they were half Italian, as Glen White was the singer and Keith Burberry at the keyboards
Where is nr. 2?
I like your video ... how do you do that fish-eye selfie footage?
Julia died a year after John and Paul first met.
Great little video . Very interesting .
An intelligent mind is quite capable of separating the art from the artist. As for Morrissey, I’m a right-leaning Thatcher fan who was a child in the 70s England. I love every single word he wrote, from the humour to the tears. I still sing loudly when hearing “Margaret On A Guillotine”. I don’t have to agree with passion, political or otherwise in order to appreciate a fucking great tune with thought provoking lyrics. All Hail Morrissey/The Smiths ❤️
Ian Brown is a god ❤️
this channel is heating up. Keep at it!
I'll try
The click-bait industry that peddles in outrage over Morrissey's views is what people should find objectionable. I'm a hardcore carnivore but have zero problem with his views just because they differ than mine. I'll eat before I go to his show. The authoritarian left is the enemy, not difference of opinion. I take great issue with all the cowardly artists who won't say a peep if they think it will cost them something.
I think it really depends upon the song. (Paul McCartney's initial lyric to the iconic 'Yesterday', (surely some of the most poetic lyrics ever written in a 'pop' song) was "Scrambled Eggs...") I was for years a singer/melodicist/lyricist in a 'pop'/indie band and I don't think any of the musicians EVER commented on my lyrics!!!! Only once did I ever adopt the 'David Bowie' method of splicing together unrelated snippits of lyric, (from flipping through the guitarists lyric notebook!) to produce the below tune. Both music and melody/lyric work perfectly, (I would say that!!!) though AT THE TIME I had no conscious knowledge of what the lyric I was 'ad-libbing' using my friend's notes might actually mean. The song 'Beachcombing' was written LITERALLY live and 'in the moment' as the recorder just happened to be on! (A total accident...) We never bothered to re-record it, (apart from some over-dubs) and never changed the lyric! The below version is the first and only recording of the song... xx SF ruclips.net/video/uxt0UFBZymk/видео.html
Yes, it really depends on the song. But, I still tend to favour melody first.
Very interesting essay. I was surprised that you didn't refer to Morrissey's vocal support of the now-defunct 'For Britain' party which was widely seen as espousing Right or even Far Right views. In common with a lot of very successful musical artistes, Morrissey is something of an egotist, (a trait that's arguably necessary in order to succeed in the music business to the level that he has) and also very much an absolutist in that he often refuses to countenance anyone who disagrees with his viewpoint, on vegetarianism, for example. His considerable and deserved wealth and success enable him to hold such attitudes with relative impunity. Famously, when taken to court by Smiths drummer Mick Joyce for royalty payments on Smiths releases, (bassist Andy Rourke settled out-of-court for a much lesser award than the ultimately victorious Joyce) Morrissey was castigated by the judge. xx SF
Very interesting and insightful. You did a great job trying to answer the question of the mystery of Moz.
I hope it doesn't cost more than a cheap laptop.
Any idea on the price? I've been searching for a multitrack player for live performances
Wow! Looks really interesting!

UR right as long as it's a full on copy of the original. Long as there's a big amount of originally there all good.
Not a full on copy.
Used to live near there lovely village.
What a lovely tribute and documentary! Really interesting to learn about the boys lives and how the band started, makes me feel like I know them a little bit more! Also it was nice to have them portrayed in their positivity and talent rather than the tragedy.
I agree... this is an outstanding film. In particular, the text is well researched, thoughtful, and insightful. I wonder and hope if we are only at the beginning of an even bigger legacy that Viola Beach will leave behind. Thank you so much for this film.
Mmmm yeah and if you research ex police officer john wedger into pedophiles they go through the canal system too cross county lines and ian brown was connected Fred Talbot....just saying too links to pedophiles...
Ian Brown was NOT 'connected to' Fred Talbot. He was a pupil at the school Talbot taught at. He testified against Talbot saying that it was common knowledge among the kids not to find yourself alone with him. You're reaching too far.

You didn’t check out the painted rocks outside the Heritage Centre - one of which features one of IB’s Glastonbury performances.
enjoyed that 💯
Ian Brown's opinions are just uncomfortable facts. Nice video but you should have let that old dear hold onto the hand rail.
Soon his opinions will be everyone's facts.
I'm an O.G roses fan and none of Brownie's rantings will become fact. Bless him 😂🤣. His rantings lost a lot of old roses fan's. Part of the roses reunion contract was that browny would not go off on his crazy rantings, also another part of his contract that as not been made public.

@@MusicalNotesAndSteps Will you do a John Squire walk?
Surprised you didn’t walk up to the thing Lymm is most famous for, the dam. You’d have walked right past Ian’s house which is clearly visible to the right as you start the walk with the dam to your left.
@@MusicalNotesAndSteps I agree with you totally, and not suggesting you ‘out’ his house, but the dam is one of the most important and attractive features of Lymm.
