One thing about the 7/8 Octaves excersize: This excersize is always the first one played. It is meant to be played slow (quarter note equals 80-100) with two mallets at full-out hights using back fulcrum. The purpose of this is to stretch out the wrist in preparation for faster excersizes such as Dirt and Double Vertical Stroke.

Hey, Ive been wondering this, but what is a tempi you think is reasonable to play inside runs with your insides above the outsides? Like around what tempo do you personally start lowering your insides to the same height as the rest of your mallets because its too fast to keep it up if that makes sense

Love the content! Just as a heads up in BPM the mallet 4 pattern is G G A B every time, not just the last time. Then in the second phrase the left hand is only on Gb Db for the first four bars, the second four bars it should move down to Eb Bb (not repeat Gb Db). I also think you might have missed a chord change in the second to last bar of the 2024 marimba excerpt

I wish I could play again man, I did Academy 2022 but I have hyperacusis and now I can’t even listen to music at a low volume and enjoy it really. I am finally treating the underlying condition for it (yay I found it) and I hope it gets better after. My heart will forever belong in this activity. Thanks for posting this stuff, although it makes me feel very bittersweet it gives me motivation to get better.
