How To Use Parallel Compression For THICKK Vocals
Good video thanks but why do you repeat every sentence at the beginning so often ?
Just an introduction so the new people here know what I’m about
W videos bro been watching multiple hope you keep making these types of content that goes in depth 1 by 1 instead of cramming everything into 1 huge video. got yourself a new early subscriber
Thanks for taking the time to talk about your journey learning FL Studio.
good tips 💯 i wish there was a way to let fl use more of the ram memory instead of just 4gb
Bro you’re such a goat
I got the iZotope Production Bundle for $300 right before they released Neutron 5 and honestly its one of the best deals ive gotten in a while. and if anyone is looking into synths Arturia is doing a half off on Analog Lab and the Complete X bundle (down to $300) and they offer 2-4 month split payments. And sweetwater has great financing options as well (with a soft credit inquiry)
Nice. Is soothe2 cpu heavy? I have it but every time I use it my daw starts freezing or lagging
Yes it definitely is. It’s not that bad if you’re using one . I use 3 so sometimes things get crazy. To help with this issue go to “quality” in soothe 2 and adjust to something that your computer can handle until exporting. Something that will also help is maxing out buffer length and deleting unused plug ins or audio tracks 👌
@freestudiotime101 💯 thanks man
@@freestudiotime101 you can adjust the oversampling on soothe for realtime and offline (rendering) so you can save on cpu during your mix, though it doesnt affect latency, but soothe is nice enough to share 1 latency across all instances iirc
If you click the button on the upper left of a clip or vocal, a menu pops up. If you select "make unique", the clip is duplicated without moving it out of time. Also, you can put a selected clip on an empty mixer track by pressing "Ctrl + L". Appreciate the video 🫡
Do not eq your vocal like this
Your channel is Insane Gods Work
Can you do a tutorial on that autotune VST next?
You’re insane! Thank you
This deserves many many many likes.
Thanks for your vids man. Maybe i missed it but do you have any videos about fast minimum production for artists? Or maybe how to make presets for your voice so artists can spend less time on production and more on recording
I dont use presets myself because i prefer to mix every song from scratch. If that’s a video you’d like to see though, I could definitely make one in the future. Pre sets are pretty easy to work with as long as you have variety.
@freestudiotime101 it would be great. Thanks!
Am using a c1 beringer mic, am having trouble with the vocals they don't seem to be seated they all over and muddy. And if i eq out the bad they sound too sharp and harsh
Use subtractive Eq in the low midrange area to find boxy/muddy frequencies. When boosting or cutting pay attention to how much gain you’re boosting or taking away. Try to go for small eq adjustments no more than 2 db of added gain or when cutting. Also make sure to add a high pass for low end just dont take TOO much out. For high end give a high shelf filter somewhere around 12,000 hz. Check your high midrange for harshness and use subtractive Eq. It should be located from 2500 hz to 3500 hz.
Thank u so much, but again..... Yes, I just can't seem to sit my vocals in the mix, I don't know if am doing too much or wat I would like if u could do a tutorial using a mic like a Beringer c1 where u mix the vocals from scratch or just using any preset on something like an amapiano or I can send an mp3.
And am using a tascam us 122l and a c1 mic and bx 5 monitors
@@DALOKAI3523The mic shouldn’t matter at all. Another useful trick for getting vocals to sit in the mix is first adjusting the fader on your instrumental (beat) track. After doing this render a dry copy of your vocals with no effects . Place that copy in its own insert. Then sidechain the insert to your beat track. If you’re in FL add fruity limiter to your beat track and switch to compression mode. Then go to sidechain input and hit the insert where you placed the copy of your vocals. After adjust attack and release and pull the threshold down until your vocals sound clear in the mix. For a visual representation I made a video explaining if you look through my channel.
@@DALOKAI3523 This is the link to the video I mentioned before ruclips.net/video/q-OUdUwAuKE/видео.htmlsi=KFYhVcYWCL1eOKO5
I think every artist should experience a "real" studio before they already "know everything." Then again, what does "studio" even mean, if all they ever record is rap vocals, MPCs, and VSTs? 🤔 All studios are not created equal, and there are budget no-frills options for a beginner artist. Of course, all _home_ studios are not equal either. I'm skeptical that someone who can barely afford studio time will implement _proper_ acoustic treatment in their home recording environment. Will their landlord/neighbors/family even allow it? But overall, these are valid reasons to nix studio time. Especially when artist development and preproduction can be done elsewhere.
Wait, this the same dude who was giving dirtbag advice about not paying beatmakers. 👀
🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✌✌✌🎶
Just as an fyi, gain reduction and threshold are not interchangable. A compressors threshold refers to the level at which your compressor will engage and gain reduction refers to the level at which your singals brough down post compression (based on factors like threshold and ratio). That means in your example where you used 2 compressors with the thresholds set to -4 and -13, you weren't doing 17 dbs of gain reductions, what you were doing was setting the compressors to engage when the signal passed -4dbs and -13dbs respectively (its also important to note that thresholds on compressors used in series don't stack, they are set individually so it would be incorrect to say that the threshold was set to -17dbs collectively).
Why 2 delays and reverbs ?
2 Delay’s set a different intervals to complement each other. For more interesting sounding delay. I use 2 reverbs so i can take 1 wide sounding reverb and 1 smaller sounding verb blend them both in the mix and the result is a more spacious verb with added depth
@@freestudiotime101 Ok ty. Appreciate your work. 💯
SOME JUST WANT TO FOCUS ON THEIR MUSIC AND NOTHING ELSE....SOON YALL WILL PROMOTE AI SO IT CAN TAKE OUR JOBS AS HUMANS SMH
Dat song wut I’m hearin so far is actually fiyah. It’s different. I would mos def peep dat joint out if I heard it on Spotify or somethin like dat. I’d copped dat joint on the straight to consumer way, jus to make sho tha artist got every cent of dat bread.
Thanks man, it’s actually an unfinished song of mine ive left alone for a few months. Honestly it was just the easiest track in my arsenal to tweak.
A compresshor…?
good ass vid bro thx for making this
Yesh, gweat eckthplanation of how sthkilled you are at ficthing vocalth. pwick.
This has to be a troll
Hey man, ik its weird but could you check one of my songs (better the last one) and tell me whats missing/should be improved? It could be a quick reply, a short or a full vid idm. I want to improve but watching tutorials without understanding whats wrong doesnt help too much
If u don’t want to pay for a service then don’t participate. Don’t buy that bag of chips from the store it’s not gonna fill u up just take them. If you’re gonna get a full stomach then ok u should pay. 🤷🏾♂️
respect for making this vid
If you’re a recording artist keep in mind these are producers in the comments thinking about the money they make off their beats as opposed to you who needs possibly hundreds of beats in a years period of time. They wouldn’t spend $1000 on leases for a year if no one was listening to them and neither should you. Only pay when you’re growing 💪
At that poing you are just begging the artists to give you the money instead of buying a lease bro 🤣 I mean at first i was watching the vid fr until i read that comment. Not mad at u anymore brother shit's pathetic 🤣🤣🤣
A BETTER TITLE IS "WHY UPCOMING & BROKE ARTISTS SHOULDNT PAY FOR BEATS" DONT TRY AND DOWNGRADE OUR CRAFT MAN, IF YOU KNEW THE EFFORT IT TAKES TO CREATE A FIRE BEAT, YOU WOULDNT TALK LIKE THIS, AT THE END I GUESS YALL JUST SAY WHATEVER FOR CLICK BAIT
If you looked at the video you’d clearly hear I’m not “downgrading your craft” . Im just pointing out how illogical it is to buy beats if no one’s listening to your music. It would be better to pay after marketing the song and building traction .
what about the producer that may have paid a ton of money for their equipment and spent the time to make it and mix it in hopes of it blowing up? it takes alot of time and effort to make a beat... i never comment but L advice...#payyourproducers unless the producers give you the beat for free and most of the time we will if a relationship has been built.
Straight facts bro only pay when it hits the producers viewer Limit
That is the dumbest thing i habe eher heard hahah
exactly what i thought till i watchhed the video, AS A PRODUCER i was triggered by the VIDEO TITLE, but as i watched the video, i understood his point of view.
exactly what i thought till i watchhed the video, AS A PRODUCER i was triggered by the VIDEO TITLE, but as i watched the video, i understood his point of view.
your point of view still got some crap in it tho
I’m watching all your videos! 🚀🙌
or maybe just ask the producer if u can use the beat for a non profit song and see if theyre ok with it. If they arent, just dont use it. Dont hope for it to not get copyright striked
100% true man. I know my music isnt good enough to get a lot of views/streams so most of the songs on 2 chanels are made on free beats. I pay for the beat only if I rly like the song i made with it and want to pay for the beat
you are the worst person to listen to, copyright exists for a reason lmao, in general i believe no one should be an "artist" if they can't produce their own stuff, but this is just straight up bs.
"just commit copyright infringement" solid advice bro!
fr bro, makes no sense
It’s illogical. If no one is streaming your songs theres no point in paying because not even you as a producer will care enough to take action until the artist starts making money off it. You can always come back later after the song blows and pay for the beat. But if you think artist should pay for beats when no one’s listening to the songs then you’re just advising others to waste money.
@@freestudiotime101 not stealing is not a waste of money... you also bought you microphone without getting views... have some respect to the producer and pay them or make the beats yourself. And you can always talk to the producer (if you broke without views, i am sure most producer have understanding for it because we mostly broke too) - before just stealing it. (and of course you can use the beat for free as long you not releasing it)
It's true, I worked at a studio for a few years. 99% of the time, we already had youtube to mp3 loaded up. Only had like 2 artists bring a producer in with the beats they made, but they were bigger acts. I played bass for one of them.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Good video💯
🤡
Hey would be interested to mix for us ? 💜
you're inspiring
