I Hacked An HP Power Supply To Run At 14.2 Volts
I've been working as a mechanic for over a decade, and I can confidently say that a battery maintainer is one of the most essential tools for working on modern cars. Today, I'm going to show you how to DIY your very own high-demand battery maintainer using an HP Server PSU, capable of supplying up to 14 volts and 80 amps.
After watching countless videos and reading through various forums, I decided to take the plunge and create my own version. So, here's my take on the HP Power Supply 14-volt hack.
A big thanks to everyone whose efforts and ideas made this project possible!

    im puzzled by the ram, usually on first boot up the ram speed is set to 2133 by bios default, so even if you put 3200 in there it should still boot regardless, the motherboard either doesnt support 3200 memory, or those sticks are ECC Server ram, did you try resetting the cmos jumper, then setting XMP after in bios that memory might still work with that motherboard?

    • @it-auto
      @it-auto 19 дней назад

      I tried different configurations, and tried set xmp, there is a switch on this motherboard I tried that too, clear CMOS, did not Work, yes I did not update the bios that might fix the issue, but you are right I was exactly thinking the way as you, that its a elite motherboard of its time, so it should do automatically, unless seller did something to make it work, and it was cheap and i didn't need 3200mhz in my Nas so I did not bother 😊

    • @it-auto
      @it-auto 19 дней назад

      Maybe it has something to do with brand compatibility too.

  • @danthompsett2894
    @danthompsett2894 19 дней назад

    huh nah dude the ram speed should be seperate to the cpu its more a question of does the board support the speed, and does it have XMP options in bios, cause without XMP in bios the memory might not be run with the correct voltage to run at that speed, timings will be fine except be slower than what XMP would set.

    gotto luv HP and Dell Mobo's for all the Prepotary b%lls¤/t, and some of them dont have obvious names or model numbers on them making finding manuals and drivers a lovely experience NOT!!!, yeah the stock cooler backwards, forwards compat is hit and miss, sometimes i can make a 115X cooler fit a socket LGA775 mobo or vice versus despite the hole space difference LGA775 being 72mm and LGA115X being 75mm other times nope not goner work, ive yet to try an 115X stock cooler on a LGA1156 but i know it works for 1150, 1151 and 1155. i dont know about LGA1200 but i would guess LGA1700 is a no go since the cpu is physically different being a large rectangle not a square.

The system includes two zenon gold processors, one RTX Ti 2080 GPU , 256 GB RAM, two 1 TB SSD, 1 TB M2, and one 6 TB HD. Today, I took out two ssd and formatted after connecting to another computer. My goel was to reinstall everything from scratch. When I reinstalled these two drives and rebooted the computer from Ubuntu bootable USB drive, the computer turned on with a single beep, but there was no display. I was unable to go to bios. After 3 to 4 mins, it showed an orange warning sign in front. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      Start with a bios update, after that try using only one M.2 drive and check in which slot your GPU is connected, hope that will Work. If not try googling and searching what that single beep means. Also try removing and installing CMOS. battery. Make sure bios is not password protected

      That depends on what CPUs you have on the system. If both CPUs are 150 watts each. You cannot use a 4060ti because it uses 160 watts But if you have CPUs 100watts each you can use it.

The last thing I would like is that I pay a lots of money for it, and then turns out that I barely can sit next to it because the huge noise it produce. Hope it's not the case, but there is no dealership around me to go and check it by myself to see how noisy it could be?! My only option is to buy online, therefore I won't get any insight how loud this could be. I searched forums for the P720, I couldn't find much info about that, it seems you are my last hope, before I would pull the trigger and buy one. :) If you could do a short video in the following days regrading the sound/noise/stress test I would really appreciate it.
