I love the NASB '95 and haven't checked out the LSB yet. I use the ESV a lot for reading and studying and am starting to like the NET because I have all the translation notes to check out.

I’ve read that the NIV11 isn’t an update of the NIV84, but an update of the TNIV, if I remember correctly

The NKJV is my daily driver for this very reason. It’s so frustrating to get a new Bible only to realize the verses I’ve memorized are not worded slightly different. All this talk about “changing language” is ridiculous. If people are still able to use the KJV 400 years later without updates, the ESV does NOT need to be updated a decade later due to “language changes” I get Bible companies are a business and they need to make money, but it’s annoying.

I like reading the CSB while studying the Canon books just wish there was a Printed version with the Apocryphal Books since I'm big on that right noe especially the Book of Sirach/Ecclesiasticus... That said thanks for your opinion on this translation... got a new suscriber... and hope you could make a video opinion on the Literal Standard Version (LSV) which I feel is an underrated translation as well... God Bless 🙏🏾👍🏿

I definitely struggle with the images of Christ. Unfortunatly it's hard to find children's bible and devotionals without those images. If I may ask, what is the song that plays in your intro?

Absolutely agree with you here. The ESV has been my favorite translation for a while and it'd be sad to see the text change. I would definitely be much more open to a change in footnotes though. Also love that you're a Baptist who owns Joel Beeke's Systematic Theology, so you just got a new subscriber!

Literal devil worshippers own all the bible publishing companies, and the copyrights to all the modern bible translations. Every translation they corrupt a little more of the scripture. The NIV's corruptions are extremely subtle and easy to miss if you're not a scholar, but they are there.

I have the David Jeremiah Study Bible NIV large print paper back. I might get it leather. It is the 1984 edition. It just feels good. Things kind of jump out at you when reading. I also use the NKJV. This is also a study Bible by David Jeremiah. I have considered that as well but I do love my NIV.

Actually, my copy is a hardback version of the David Jeremiah Study Bible. I don't know why I said it was paper. It is a comfortable Bible to read and sometimes things that I saw before really popped out at me.

I see it uses the same Greek words as they would speak back then, but to understand how they clarify things the footnotes will describe the Greek or different meanings using those same words as it meant which is satisfactory for me 👍 I like it so much I often struggle between ESV in this new one since it does use modern words and better context than NASB in addition to those clarifications

I see the blue csb everyday study bible is the 2020 text. That's an update. The brown one that your wife has marked up was the 2017 text version. I might buy this new one then. I like to memorize bible passages and wouldn't like to have words mixed up, even though the difference isn't that big.

Up to what age do you think this family devotional are edifying for? I have a 13, 11, and 8 year old. We're doing Alistar Beggs Truth For Life now, but his language can be so lofty at times that I'm spending a lot of time explaining what these words mean. 😂

“D. L. Moody and Charles Spurgeon were both 5' 9" tall and weighed 350 lbs. Both won over a million people to Christ. If it is a sin, it would appear that God is not opposed to using such sinners. After all, all He has to use is saved sinners and failures so why would fat be an obstacle He could not overcome?”

I understand that there is also a Spanish version of NIV (NVI). I wonder if it was translated independently from original sources or if it is simply a translation of the English NIV to Spanish. My Spanish version is the Reina-Valera 1960. Yes, I do have to look up some words that I am unfamiliar with but it is my go to Bible.

So NIV only is okay but KJB is bad? When doctrine is removed from scripture there is nothing good about that. If only people would realize the KJB is the 7th forged in fire divinely inspired word of GOD. All other new "translations" are from a fake document stolen from Alexandria (see Simonides vs Tischendorf). All new "translations" remove critical words and doctrine. It is of the adversary and us "KJB ONLY" people are just terrible people trying to warn you.... How dare we try to deliver the true word of GOD rather than some man-made and re-invented words that are NOT inspired.

On the one hand, I love the CSB for its accuracy and readability. 😊 On the other hand, I'm afraid the CSB lacks in terms of literary beauty, which is most noticeable in the poetic sections (which some have estimated make up as much as 1/4th to 1/3rd of the entire Bible). Of course, accuracy and readability are arguably more important than literary beauty, but literary beauty is not unimportant. For example, literary beauty can be an aid to memorization inasmuch as what's memorably said is easier to remember. Granted, much of the Bible including most of the New Testament is written in every day language. Such as the prosaic or common (koine) Greek of the NT, with some exceptions (e.g. Hebrews has the most elegant Greek in the NT, the prologue of Luke is likewise written in a higher register which arguably makes it more elegant sounding). But at the same time, much of the Bible is arguably written in a more beautiful literary style too (e.g. the Psalms, Job, Ecclesiastes). The CSB is solid for accuracy and readability, but it doesn't stand out in literary style. It sounds more vanilla in general. Nothing wrong with that, per se. The CSB is plain and plainspoken. But if one desires literary beauty, then one would need to turn aside from the CSB and opt for a translation like the KJV, NKJV, ESV.

Dear JEWISH person reading this, With the utmost respect and humility, I want to share this with you in love and as a fellow member of Bnei Yisrael 100% from the Tribe of Levi. When JEWS in Messianic Judaism begin keeping Torah as our forefathers swore at Sinai, you will witness HASHEM doing amazing things among us. HASHEM desires to bless us fully, but if we are in a current state of apostasy, HIS blessings are limited. HE does not encourage the continuation of such a state but calls us to return to HIS ways. If Paul had entered a synagogue proclaiming that JEWS no longer need to be circumcised or keep Torah, he would have been stoned as an enticer, as per Deuteronomy 13. And rightly so. Paul, a Torah-observant Pharisee, was addressing Gentiles in Galatians, not us. Gentiles have their role, but their obligations to Torah differ from ours. Please seek HASHEM on this matter, and HE will reveal the truth. Stand up, Bnei Yisrael! Messiah making Torah irrelevant or claiming that Messiah “fulfilled” Torah into irrelevance is the same error with a different appearance. Such a claim would disqualify Him as a prophet, let alone the Messiah. We have prayed the Amidah faithfully for centuries, and its words remain our anchor. Consider Malachi’s final words before the 400 years of prophetic silence: “Remember the Torah of Moses My servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for ALL Israel, even statutes and ordinances” (Malachi 4:4). The Torah is not abolished in the New Covenant, and not one promise of Jeremiah 31 has yet been fulfilled. Heaven and earth have not passed away. Even Hebrews 8:4 testifies that Yeshua, if He were here on earth, would not serve as a priest since He is not of the tribe of Levi. The sacrificial system is not abolished but remains as Jeremiah 33:17-18 states: “David will never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel. The Levitical priests won’t lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn meal offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.” We sing from Lamentations: “Turn us to You HASHEM and we will return. Renew, renew our days as of old.” Why were we exiled? For disregarding HASHEM’s Torah. Can we then usher in HIS Kingdom or expect to hear “Well done My good and faithful servant” through more apostasy? Please consider this prayerfully, as I speak from my heart. You know there is truth in this. Seek HASHEM, and HE will show you. With love and respect, David Ben Peretz
